I've been to movie theaters where they check your bag along with your ticket. If they're worried about people bringing in weapons, I get it. They just should not take that opportunity to bust you for bringing in your own snacks. Theater food is too expensive.
I've wondered that same thing many times. You wonder if they do that at their home or apartment also. Yuck! I've cleaned apartments, and some people are just...lazzzzzzy and gross!

My mum use to work in hotels when she was younger and said it wasn’t all bad. They find a lot of forgotten items and once my mum found an open briefcase with $1300 in it
Lol do one for housekeepers I worked as one during the summer and it was at a nice hotel but watching how some of the housekeepers clean and the fact that we didn't always change blankets and stuff on the bed makes me not even want to stay at a hotel lol
@@paradiceeraves If I have to stay at a hotel I'll bring my UV flashlight and check everything to make sure the bedding is clean. If it's not I'd make them change it. If you don't want wanna spare the $20 for the UV flashlight then bring your own sheets and blankets. Might sound extreme but most hotels aren't as clean as you may think they are.
My best friend works at a hotel and she says there’s always elderly people yelling at the staff for things like “not enough towels” when they have 15 towers stacked in their bathroom lol
In a regular theatre with 12 screens and 200 to 600 seats per theatre, one theatre would probably take like 10 hours, it would be practical to clean all those seats maybe twice a year. They are fabric, they would need to be steam cleaned
It's very time consuming and costly. My theater does a thorough deep clean of each auditorium twice a year, and it is literally a full day's work to just do one.
"During the week" is a common phrase meaning "weekdays." With that expression, the weekend is either end of the week, not during it. Just a different way of cutting up an arbitrary slice of time.
"Never seen the theater with the lights on" what theater do you go to? All the ones I've been to have the lights on like. 10-20 mins before the movie started.
You mean those super dimly lit lights where you can barely see? They have them dim for that reason! Lol. When the theatre is empty and the movie is over, they put on HUGE BRIGHT LIGHTS so the employees can see everything to clean. And then when we’re done cleaning, they dim the lights again to “your normal setting” that you’re used to seeing.
@@StrangeAshley Wrong, I've been to theaters that have dim lights walking in & I've been to some that had bright lighting walking in. You need to go to more theaters than just the one you've been too.
I'm a movie theater employee and people always think they're being so sneaky when they take hot food in but we can smell it, we just don't care enough to check your bag 😂
For many locations, the night crew is pretty understaffed and they don't have time to clean hundreds of seats on top of vacuuming the floors, cleaning restrooms and taking garbage out.
The theatre I work at in Sweden do not have that. lol yeah they clean the floors and take out the trash but they do not touch the chairs lol those are done probably twice a year.
I worked as the night crew we worked from 12 am to 6 am we would deep clean the cup holders but not the seats them selves we would just spray them with sanitizer
If you go to a theater with leather seats, they are more than likely safe since they are super easy to clean. If they have old fashion fabric seats... be careful.
This is all true. I’ve caught people having sex, found liquor bottles, no one actually cleans the theater, someone did miss the toilet and pooped everywhere. I did not clean it. Did not get paid enough for that

I worked at Regal when I was in high school. My most memorable moments: 1.Sofa King. A bro came to the lobby with his couch and asked if he could bring it to the auditorium to sit on during the movie. Of course he wasn't allowed, but bless him for trying. 2.Batmam. A lady unleashed a purse filled with bats inside a pact auditorium on a Friday night. One of my co-workers was bitten and had to get a rabies shot. 3.Epic Fail. Our manager accidentally screened Black Hawk Down inside a Monsters Inc. auditorium. A few minutes in, a very angry mom and her crying child stormed out and screamed at the manager. He started crying and left for the day. 4.The Phantom Pisser. Once a week, like clockwork, we would find a courtesy cup (free water cup) filled to the brim with urine in the cupholder of the seat inside one of the auditoriums. In my 4 years of employment at Regal we were never able to catch the sob. It still bothers me to this day
In the late 1990's the vintage theatre I worked at had midnight movies. People would try to sneak in all kinds of booze and drugs but we usually found it on them. By the end of the night the closets near the front doors would be full of liquor bottles, beer, and weed. It would be split between the employees along with tips. On other occasions when we knew people were getting funky we would sneak up on them, hide, and when they obviously were climaxing we would all cheer and shower them with ticket stubs. Good times.
It had some unique moments, that's for sure. It was an independent one screen theatre from the 40's where you could get away with crazy stuff like that at the time. There is a movie somewhere in all this...(:
poisonkiss201 yesss but I do actually carry a small spray bottle of rubbing alcohol and it comes in handy. My friend dropped their keys in a public toilet and yoy cant really wash them well or put hand sanitizer on it that quickly but you could just spray them w the rubbing alcohol and bam. It’s a lil better
I've had an experience in a theater where the mom of a child a couple seats down let her son watch something on her phone at the HIGHEST volume possible. It was the worst thing in the world. When we asked her to turn it off she said no. Boy, was my dad PISSED.

When purge election year came out, at the end when the purge ended they had announcements and all that... one of the characters was like “Is It Over” and I swear the whole movie theater was like “noooo” sarcastically it was so funny😂
I worked at a theater for 2 years and I never saw them clean the seats, but we also had a night cleaning crew so there’s no way to know how often it gets cleaned by asking a movie theater employee... they wouldn’t be the ones cleaning it
When I worked at a movie theatre, an older woman came to watch a matinee. After the movie, it looked as through she had fallen asleep. My friend went to wake her up, but she didn’t. She has passed away at some point during the movie.
Literally when i worked at the movies i didn’t give af if people brought their own food in as long as they threw their trash away 🤷🏽♀️ because more likely than not, the people who bought stuff at concessions were the ones who left the biggest mess “they get paid to clean it.”
Funny to be watching this, I’m currently an employee at a cinema in The Netherlands and it’s almost the opposite here. Seats are thoroughly cleaned once a week, we have around 15 minutes to clean a theatre, employees will actually take the food you brought with you, and there is no ‘oil’ on the popcorn here. The rest is pretty accurate :)

I think movie goers should earn movie theater points for throwing out their garbage. Basically a reward system. And the reward could be free food or drinks or a free movie. I know movie goers shouldn't be rewarded for cleaning up their mess. But without any solution, people are going to continue being dirty.
My secret to enter to any movie and not pay for tickets it’s to ask to go for the bathroom, try to be there like 20 minutes or even more and then just enter to any movie, doesn’t matter 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
My dad used to work in a movie theater and he told me that when they clean under the seats they just push the trash under the seats. He also told me that if you go on a busy day the popcorn will be fresh, if it is not busy the popcorn is not fresh. Story time: My sisters, dad and I went to a movie, we sat in the back and at the end this girl when to the corner next to our road, then peed there. My dad told the manager and got her and her family banned from the movie theater 😂

What's the point of having tickets then? Besides, we have to be able to monitor who's going in where if it's an adult movie. The theatres can get huge fines if there are underage kids in there. Also the retards need to be shown the direction of the theatres because they often can't find them.
I work at a theater now and I agree with everything except the outside food throw that away yourself so we don’t find it in the theater Another secret is bring extra bags to divide popcorn and cups to divide the drink because free refills on drinks. May be a size smaller than what is on the menu ask for the smallest cup they can sell you.
I work at a movie theatre. We sweep up everything on the floor, use 409 to clean the seats. And when it’s closed we take the seat cover off and get all the stuff out from under it
I worked at a theater in Marin County and they used real butter. I remember having to put a giant ass block of butter on a heating tray so we could use it in the machine. After being used to real butter, you can definitely tell the difference between real and oil.
Worked at a small movie theater in the 90's. as a teenager. Theater was owned by Cineplex Odeon, then later bought by Sony. 1. Yes be afraid of the hot dogs. If they are wrinkled they are usually a couple days old. 2. Popcorn from the night before was saved and mixed with fresh popcorn the next day 3. We did care about people trying to theater hop and would kick them out. 4. Our company counted every thing cups, bags, candy, bulk candy..etc so you couldn't really give anything away. Well soda and popcorn you could in trays and water cups. 5. We cleaned pretty good between shows swept all aisles and removed trash from seats. 6. No obvious outside food was allowed either.
Worked at a movie theater and they had cleaners come in overnight to clean the seats and floors of the theaters with all the lights on regular day time employees never had to do that we just did spot cleaning throughout the day when ushering
One of the things that’s super annoying as an employee is when people get upset that there aren’t any tickets left for a movie, or that it’s down to front row only. People will come up to box office on a Saturday night during the holiday season 10 minutes before the movie starts and then act like it’s our fault that every movie is sold out.
