Just a video not related to motorcycles but interesting nonetheless. The State is replacing a bridge that goes over the interstate and many of the prestressed beams are being delivered. #engineering #beams #concrete #notmotorcycles
I was on my way to the store and got stuck in traffic so I just parked at a gas station and got out to film. I think this is interesting even though not motorcycle related.
Me too, as a pilot. I stopped oncoming so our truck can swing out and come back into our lane. A guy decided he wasn’t going to stop for me so he went up the footpath and toward the turn, right as my truck with 9m of concrete on the back came around. He decided not to make that turn and just went and drove onto another footpath so he wasn’t sideswiped. Haha. I’m just sitting here with pretty lights on because I feel like inconveniencing everyone, blow the horn all you like lol.
Thank you for stopping and showing it very cool there's a whole lot that goes into doing something like that that people have no idea about or do most people care about other than the fact that is delaying where they got to be you know self self LOL
The trucks are stopped to get clearance to cross the railroad crossing from the rail line dispatcher. If they try to cross without clearance and a train hits that beam imagine an 120 foot (or what ever the length of the beam) bulldozer.
I pilot for these in Australia, not as chaotic as this though. Probably moved over 100 from Newcastle to the new airport in Sydney. There’s lots of drivers out there that think I’m just doing it for a fun drive and I don’t ask them to stop in a safe location for an actual reason lol. Our drivers say that we’re the hardest working people trying to keep people alive. I took a 10m wide mining part out recently. Guy in a caravan decided he could fit over the bridge with my truck. The cop behind me disagrees and made him reverse back about 700m to where I had put him. Took him 25m to do it zig zagging all the way, cop said do you realise now why the pilot stopped you there? Yes. Next time, do as the pilot tells you. Ok. Wish I had a rear facing dashcam lol.
@@RemboUSMC sure thing. It’s a really good job. See lots of stuff and get paid to travel around. If it wasn’t for all the other people on the road it would be really relaxing and a nice drive haha.
It's very impressive, not the everyday view . Boy is that long .. That noise is probably metal on metal moving...ie friction... Remember that there is an awful lot of stress when turning. Love that sign... 'Oversize Load' Should read, 'Super Long & Oversize Load' Great video 👍
I pilot for these in Australia, probably even longer ones. Our pilots steer the jinkers from their vehicle by remote control in their vans, they just drive along and steer them. That one looked pretty slow to turn too, compared to ours.
@@thesausage351 Very impressive...thank you so much for the informative reply... Have a good day and hopefully a great Christmas and NY Simon a Brit in Spain 👍
What purpose does that serve? Interesting 1) You look professional, ready to go to work, not dressed like a hillbilly. If you are getting on a 737 plane and the pilot was wearing jeans with a Rolling Stones World Tour T-shirt, or your surgeon is wearing the same what would you think. 2) No industrail plant would let you past the gate to deliver without them. Pretty embarssing and expensive when you delay the job by two hours to go buy the stuff. 3) it is for your benifit not anyone else. Medicine has hot found a way to transplant an eye or brain matter yet. Injuries are the last of your problems. From what I have seen, usally depression sets in when you cannot return to work after some of these injuries. Your relationship breaks up, you start drinking, get addicted to pain killers and end up as a homeless person. ie you have no "Purpose in life" 4) You are in the middle of traffic in oncoming lanes. The person with cataracts would cannot see you, the early demenita person who still drives, the person stoned. That reflective vest might be the only thing that registers in their mind. 5) The government Health and Safety inspector gets tired of bullshit and issues a stop work order on not only the truck and shipment, but the whole jobsite. () Please inform me why you should not wear Personal Protection and why it has no purpose?
@@machinemoverman4614 Yeah, Tell me later how that one works out for you? Hospitais have great WiFi. Like they say "Safety is an Attitude", do not think this is what they really had in mind
