Thank you so much for all your instruction and advice, Nora! Most of my plants are undergoing the transition using the long method and I'm happy to repprr that they are all doing fantastic! Well, except for the little Spider Plant which the kitten got a hold of. 😏 And the plants I put directly into LECA are also doing fine so far, thanks to you!

love the video, couple questions: when u put the nutrient solution and it doesnt reach the air holes, how will the roots get access to it? and do you always soak the leca balls in some sort of solution?

My water propogation is growing algae! I didn't realize it would do that under artificial light! I don't know why it never crossed my mind ask used to keep fish and they got algae 🤦🏼‍♀️ Do you think propogation in a dark pot would prevent this and still root? If I every go to Australia I'm going to be put your plants on my places to visit 🤣 I just want to be blown away in awe in real life! Thanks for sharing Nora! 👑

Hey Nora, absolutely loved watching you clean that soil off your plants and cleaning the roots....total ASMR for me HAHAHA. Thank for sharing all your knowledge and bringing so much joy to the lives of so many! Quick question: before having a heat mat, how did you keep your long method transitioning jars warm? I'm putting them on my bedroom desk next to a north facing window (not in direct sunlight). Any other suggestions until I get my heat mat?

Hi! Just wanted to thank you for your incredibly detailed & helpful videos. ❤ I'm considering switching to leca for all my anthuriums. Makes sense to me since most of them are epiphytes & don't need soil, anyway, so why the heck not, right? Is it necessary to have the pot (with the plant) inside another/reservoir? I want to place them in my greenhouse cabinet & wanted to save space.

Hi Ms. Nora, thank you for this enlightening video. I'm so excited to begin my Leca journey because of you. I can follow you and hopefully be successful. Question: Do you start a plant on the long method as soon as you get one over do you wait a week or two for the plant to acclimate to your home and then start the long method? I usually get a new plant and keep it separate from the others for two weeks and then start it on the long method. I'm curious to know if you find it necessary to wait or do you jump right in? Thanks again
@TheLecaQueen

Thank you. 😊 I do not wait. I get that plant into the long method as soon as I can.

So since the reservoir/catch pot isn't meant to be transparent, how do you gauge the water level accuracy? And if you got that wrong and the roots were sitting in the nutrient solution, would this lead to root rot? And if so, can that happen quite quickly? From a plant lover considering the leca life. Even though I haven't made the transition yet, I'm still subscribed 😋 I love your videos ❤️ thank you for sharing @TheLecaQueen 🙏🏾

What could be causing my Anthurium crystallinum to randomly get yellow leafs? And all new growth dying ... Its been fine for years now this! .I dont overwater and could this be a humidity issue? And would it benefit to put it in leca? Or does this sound like a pest issue?

Hello Nora. I have a Anthurium Waroqueanum Baby. Sitting on perlite in a Plasticbottle without air. They have only fluffy air roots. Because is a stem cutting of my adult plant. Now i want to move to leca. What can i do? My idea is, i change only perlite with leca and put the air roots in leca. Should i use water with fertilize? Because the root don't touch the perlite. I put the plastik wrap on the bottle off, every couple days, for air. Should i take it away, if i start with leca? What do you think? Any tips?
@TheLecaQueen

Hello. I would keep the humidity dome plastic and move it to small balls of leca Use nutrient solution not plain water.

Quick question Most of my leca transplants are on my glassed in porch. The doors are open to the outside a lot, it’s so darn hot here in Texas, over 100’ every single day. I seem to be breeding mosquitos in my leca pots. I started adding mosquito bits to the cash pot, 2-3 bits in every pot. Hopefully it’s not going to hurt my plants. I get eaten up every time I go onto my porch. Need to get it under control. Wonder if anyone else had had that problem or if the mosquito bits will help.
@TheLecaQueen
@TheLecaQueen 2 года назад
Thanks for the question Kathy. Mozzies are the worst! I am not sure about putting bits in the nutrient solution. I think it may possibly affect the pH and affect how the nutrient is absorbed. Without any concrete evidence I would err on the side of caution and not put bits in the nutrient.

It doesn’t matter what, anthurium need soil to survive, its like you, you can’t live with “water and vitamins” only….you need to eat food to survive
@TheLecaQueen
@TheLecaQueen 7 месяцев назад
When a plant is living in leca, it gets 'water and vitamins' and all the other nutrients it needs from the nutrient solution provided in the hydroponic solution. Lots of plants are grown successfully without soil, Anthuriums included. I would love to continue this discussion. Why do you believe soil is necessary? Thanks
@lukki7ster
@lukki7ster 7 месяцев назад
LOL that person must have forgotten thst Anthuriums are ephiphites and 1000% do NOT need soil to survive! They're just a hater! Do ur thing Leca Queen lol
