I just want to say that your tutorials are the light at the end of the tunnel for my graduation. You make amazing stuff and the tutorials are extremely clear and really help me understand TouchDesigner. Keep doing what you're doing!
Nice one man! It has been a pleasure following your progression in touchdesigner and in your youtube skills. You are nailing it. You are actually producing one of the best and most humble series of tutorials of this amazing software. I so much see and share your passion for node based creativity, it makes me smile.
This is just what I needed!!!! Amazing, been loving learning from you! Also! I’d love it if you made a tutorial on the fractal visuals you made and posted on IG the other day!!! Cheers
Hey man! Thanks a bunch for that tutorial! Don't know if you still read comments here but if you are I'm encountering a weird problem I can't seem to fix. I followed every step and entered all the same amounts as you did but when turning on instancing both sets of pillars (left and right) are not in the same position... The left column displays fine but the right one is put much further away and not facing the same direction. They're not mirroring each other properly. The only thing that's different on my end when following your tutorial is when I turn the TZ ramp to vertical: it still displays two rows when turning on pixel values whilst there's only one row on your end. I don't know if it has anything to do with it... Anyway I tried messing around with nearly every parameters but I never get both sets of columns to align as they should...
I've the same problem with it, i've found a solution: When you create the tx ramp go to the Output Op setting and in the Operation select something different from Multiply, like Atop and you will see that it's gonna work properly, also later with the landscapes you're gonna need the same solution.
I love this animation and see how it works, but i have a problem when i turn on the instancin on Translate OP with the posPA null, after set the R for the X and the G for the Z, i don't see anything... pure black... i tried to see something translating the camera a bit from 1 to 2 in Z, and there only appear 2 columns but not the other 20 copys of the ramp... idk what is wrong :/ ...
I realized the pillars do not start at the same point there is an offset in the z axis between the left and right pillars , anyone else get tis issue ?
Hey mate, thank you verry much for sharing your tutorials! Do you know if its also possible too use fbx files for this technique? Would be pretty amazing if its possible too use cad models instead of the sops. :D
Yes, you can use any imported file. The geometry container will instance any thing inside it, just make sure that everything has the render button checked. You can build complex models inside the geometry node.
excellent tutorial as always :) i'm having a problem where my base with the pillars inside won't connect to the geo, any ideas on how to fix? i'm running 2020.27390 non-commercial if that helps!
