We are big believers that life is too short not to follow your dreams. So in early 2020 we decided to buy and convert a van in Europe, to live in it full time and travel the world. The build was especially challenging for us since we had never worked with tools before or had any prior experience building things 🛠️
After 2 years living in it full time, we decided it is time for a change and we sold our van and got ready to move to Australia.
We Are Monasi, an international couple passionate about plant based food, music and specialty coffee.

A correction to your remark about snow. We do have snow in Australia. Our snowfields are bigger than Switzerland (but not as deep). Our best snow fields are in the Great Dividing Range in Victoria and New South Wales, though other parts of Oz get snow in winter, too. Our snow season is roughly from June to September (winter into early spring) and some years are good and longer for snow sports and some not as much. As you are in the State of Victoria you can drive south-east to Mount Baw Baw or north-east to a number of mountain snowfields. All are in Alpine National Parks. The Mount Dandenong Ranges, nearer to Melbourne, also receives snow (but not for skiing) and is beautiful for a visit at any time.

Thanks for the correction! So true we just recently heard about it. We’ll try to include one of your recommendations in the winter months! 😊

There are people in Australia that would call McDonald's, Macca's, and there are some locations in the country that would be branded as that. In fact, McCafé was originally conceptualized & launched in Melbourne, Australia in 1993.

Interesting we didn’t know that McCafè started here in Melbourne! Thanks for sharing 😊

I was the most inspired by the birds during our time in Sydney... here is the poem I wrote: SYDNEY BIRDS / April 2017 (Australia): Feathered rainbows fly here and there, in the autumn Sidney air The dinosaurs live on in these, chattering spectrums in the trees Their sounds sublime, they fill the soul; and for a moment, make one whole ... Hugs x

Enjoy our creative and coffee capital of Melbourne! Winter skiing is far better in Victoria & NSW Sadly Tassie has very limited skiing area and the conditions are not always great. No groomed snow and no chairlifts! Enjoy Melbourne life and congrats on a great vlog update 👏😊☕️

Lovely couple. Lots of ski resorts in Australia. My family started in the early 60s and our ski instructors were predominantly Austrians and Germans so we learnt the Austrian style and as a result we are great skiers! We get more snow than the Swiss Alps!

Australia is larger than continental US. But if you add the territories, islands and other parts of the US to the list, yes the US is larger. Put simply, if you superimpose one continent over the other, Australia is larger. However, if you were to include both country's territories, island and other parts, Australia would out weigh the US, because of the many islands, Tasmania and our Antarctic area. Those bird sounds you recorded are from what we older Aussies call the 'flying rats'. They are actually Minors from India that have invaded most of Australian cities and tend to push out our own 'noisy Minors' from our. Other common birds you would have heard are Rainbow Lorikeets. They travel in packs and get drunk on the nectar of our native Grevillia. The younger ones often fly directly into the path of a car after filling up on the nectar for the first time. Time zones: The chart you put up was for summer. The two areas at the top of Aussie don't have daylight saving because we get so much sunlight in both summer and winter. Obviously, if WA were split in two, then there is a good chance the top half would also not have daylight saving. To understand our time zones better, search for a winter time chart as that will make more sense.

The supposed reason why Aussies shorten words is to keep their mouths shut and stop flies getting in! Flies are not an issue in the cities but certainly are in outback areas.
