I’m Irish but I’m thinking of working in Chicago for my third year of college (placement year). Half of my family are from Chicago and it’s my dream to live there. Your vids are so helpful and looks like a beautiful place!

Been a lifelong resident of Chicago friend. The Irish heritage and history is so ingrained in Chicago it really is incredible. Streets are named after obscure (or infamous) Irish-American Chicagoans. People love their European football and Irish pubs here as well. I also know a lot of Chicago policemen and firemen who have dual American and Irish citizenship as well. But Chicago is NO JOKE and its NOT Disneyland. It is extremely, extremely dangerous here and the far-left policies and high prices will leave you scratching your head or running back home. You may want to look at trendy suburbs outside of Chicago (like Naperville, Plainfield and Arlington Heights) that have Metra train service. There is a booming young-person scene, great restaurants, cheap rent and safety...and you can still be in downtown Chicago in less than an hour.

So everyone knows, the IKEA stores are in the suburbs. Schaumburg and Bolingbrook. But people from Chicago say everything is in the city since it’s technically near the main city area. 😊 I was born and raised in Chicago and left to SoCal 5 years ago. I love it here. But I’m also an empty nester and 51. I live 5 min away from the ocean by car. I will always be a Chitown girl but now I love Oceanside also. 😊

So excited that I will back "home": in Chicago to see friends, check out my old apartment buildings manager because he was so dope and of course go to Riot Fest. Chicago in September is magnificent! Please be careful around Douglas Park this year.🙏🏼 Violent robbery crews and out-of-control street-racers will pick apart the Riot Fest attendees who are not careful. And let's not forget the marijuana tainted with dangerous street drugs sold around the park. This event needs to be moved to a safer area ASAP!
