I grew up in Nelson and have travelled the world looking for the same thing. Somewhere I felt I belonged. Getting to two thirds of my life through and still searching. Anyways love you guys for sharing your travels and feelings with us.

I live in Nelson, well closer to Motueka. I love this part of the world. Weather is great and lots of nature and beautiful places to explore. It is a fairly sleepy place to live and most people find it takes a long time to make friends and feel settled.

I have lived in Nelson for 32 years and think it is the best place to live in the whole world. I have traveled to other places to explore and see what’s out there but Nelson is the best!

Brittany the water taxis are a good way to do different sections of the Able Tasman. The can drop you off and pick you up at any bay.

Excellent idea Brittany - see as much of the world as you can while you are young. New Zealand is very far from everything and can be a bit sleepy at times. It's great that you feel so comfortable in NZ - but you'll love Australia, Asia, and Europe too. Take care 🙂

Love your videos and so stoked you are spending some time in my hometown of Nelson! Hope it goes well :) You'll have to visit Nelson Lakes, Golden Bay and Māpua while you are there! I fully understand what you mean... I spent a year in Canada and loved it so much but it is surprisingly similar to NZ. As much as I loved it I did get a bit homesick and was looking forward to coming home. But I'll be back to visit one day! Hope you feel settled in Nelson soon :)

Nelson is so much better then ChCh, its apparently the sunshine capital, love that place,stay well buddy.

If you both have a decent job, NZ will be fine. But why have Canada lite, when you can have Canada

Man NZ keeps surprising me. I liked the last French town you were in, and now I'm like wow Nelson is so beautiful too! I can see myself doing a lot of photography in Nelson! Also I understand why you would want to go back to Canada now, it's different in the US compared to both Canada and NZ the US is more like a third world country with a horrible quality of life unless you're extremely wealthy and the right color, and the right political party, and the right age, and you are in shape with the right cars and houses etc. lol basically the quality of life sucks in the US so for us being in NZ or Canada would be a huge change for the better.

You miss your cat. Have you considered befriending cat people so you can borrow theirs for short visitations? There are lots of cats in NZ.

love Nelson but folks economic reality is wayyyyy over priced and insufficient housing over run medical system with no chance to get into a doctors practice over priced and insufficient rentals a lot of low paid seasonal on off work and looming massive rates rises people simply cant afford to live here any more ( I was one of them)
