How to grocery shop? You go to the store & buy what you want & then you bring it home in a granny cart, a tote with wheels, put it over your shoulder, or carry it with your hands. Or, you get a delivery guy to help you carry it, or order online or in the store & pay for delivery. I don't think you really need to make a video on that.

I get it's pretty straightforward but I wanted to see what their priorities are when grocery shopping and how they carry big items like dog food or toilet paper? Yah know? I want to see if they can do it in one trip or they have to do it in multiple. I live in a place where I can drive to the store and buy whatever so again, I wanted to see how they do it without a car.

@@anorad.1623 I understand there's a way to focus on purchase no to heavy stuff in one shot, I do vegetables, rice and milk them do a second trip in the week during summer time for extra fruits like watermelon, them carry my car to my 4th fl apartment. When we do the laundry at laundromat when I put the clothes to dry I go and do the grocery shopping then go back to laundromat fold the clothes and come back to my apartment, this saves me time. Hope this gave you an idea.

That’s not bad though lol. Live outside of dc and walk to the train from parking and then stand outside for 15 minutes or longer on the weekends because that’s how often the trains come and go. Harsh winds while standing in the platform are worse Altman the walk.

My knees can't handle stairs. No elevator no apt. Cleaners, grocery store, hardware store, hair and nail salon. If i had a dog; a groomer, a vet, a dog park, maybe a doggy day care.

Grocery store, Walmart, fav fast food places, Home Depot/Lowes, Gas Station, Circle K, and always need to find my taco place for sit down tacos and margs. Most everything else I'll get online. Agree on getting a mailbox. No sitting home waiting for deliveries.

Some good points made. However, I'd scope out the neighborhood BEFORE I signed a lease. In this case, the walk to the subway would be a challenge on a rainy or cold winter day, so I'd keep apartment-hunting. The example apartment had a nice kitchen and laundry, but fifth floor could get tiring. The rooftop deck may be nice but would not get regular use from me. The separated bedrooms are a plus but they are TINY. For two people and $3,200 I'd look for something half that distance to the subway and a lower floor, though the in-unit laundry would be tempting. With so many units vacant right now, I bet I could find what I was looking for.

I really like your videos on moving to New York, they are so much fun to watch! As someone who just moved to New York City from overseas the hardware store is definitely a must! And I can recommend having a nice Deli or small take away shop nearby for the beginning, when you may not have all your kitchen ware yet.

The first thing I would see is if the apartment building has an elevator, Mailbox, laundry room, garbage and recyclable area. If you have a car a garage. Management , Staff or , Superintendent . 2nd thing. Supermarket, Restaurant/ Bars, movie theaters, Hardware stores , Drug stores. 3rd thing. Train Station, Bus stops, Hospitals, NYPD Precinct, FDNY Fire Station or Fire Stations Dr office. United States Post Office.

Walking distance to the train is crucial! When I first moved out, the 2-3 min walk vs the former 11-12 min walk was a huge difference every day! 20 min/day adds up!

11 minute walk to the train is far when the weather is bad. And in New York you have more bad weather than good (combo of blistering cold, oppressive heat, snow and rain). However, transportation is not just the train but also buses. You can catch the bus that leads you to the train for the same Metro fare and the video did show that there's a major bus route there.

Where I live now, the A Train is at least a 15 minute walk away. But on the plus side, I do get a few bodegas, a Key Food, a Stop & Shop, and a CVS just like 5 minutes away from me by foot. I love samosas but I live in a neighborhood with bars and liquor stores. I also live near 2 Dunkins but I still prefer Starbucks!

Sorry John but there’s something about Cash that feels so inauthentic. Perhaps b/c he’s a broker. BTW I’m native NY’er whose lived in Manhattan almost as long as you’ve been alive. (’m 53- & been in Manhattan 32 years - grew up in Cobble Hill Brooklyn). I watch your channel for a younger persons perspective on this city. When I lived in Park Slope (St. Mark's Place in between 4th and 5th) it was perfect. I had the top (4th) floor so I had the roof but it was a walk up. It was a 5 minute walk to Atlantic Street subway where you had multiple lines. But I lived there (90's) when the Williamsburgh Bank was the tallest building. Miss it but my money goes so much better living upstate in Rochester. Great channel.

The penthouse with roof deck 😀 Key Food delivers - least ones I know. So if need big shopping usually go to store, pick everything, pay and just tell them to deliver. Yea Manhattan you are bigtime wow you run NYC...I like Cash he is a great guy...Ave B the rough part..all the places he named are the particular spots it's so odd to be a minority WOW grandeur... in the boro's it's all guys with GIANT GOLD BIKE CHAINS and all these rich people but let a guy like that come around he would vanish its guys with Porsches and BMWS AND JUST RIDICULOUS MONEY....and this strip for the GOOD PEOPLE but they live good its everything here but This is NYC...people think it's not...This is NY FUCKING CITY always will be
