Absolutely love your videos! Fun and very useful. I am seriously contemplating the move and just starting to learn the language via Duolingo. Not sure what the job market would be like for a sociology PhD in his late 50's with US-based experience in program evaluation. Maybe I can just skate by on my savings and not take that January break from drinking...

Coming from the US, although I understand and love public transport, it’s difficult even whenever I’ve been in Europe for only a month or so but not been able to go drive out somewhere on the weekend or go over the border to do some shopping =\ Thanks for the vid-all of these are so useful, I feel so lucky to have found this, haha.

Thanks for these fantastic videos, Paul! I was curious if you faced any restrictions while finding a place in regard to your cat? I currently live in the U.S. and most apartment buildings will have some pet restrictions and I obviously want to bring my kitty with me abroad!

Hey Erica! Just clarify with any potential apartment that you might want to move into if it is ok for you to bring your pet. Some are fine with it, some aren't. Most adverts for apartments will also say if they are pet-friendly. I really hope that helps and good luck! PC

Hi again Paul Just a quick question .. when electricity and gas are transferred to the tenant, what would 4000 CZK poplatky be for?! Also, is is possible to find a Czech person to accompany us for the apartment rent search? Thank you so much

Hmm, that could be for costs regarding communal spaces in an apartment building, for example, cleaning of stairways, elevator maintenance etc. Usually poplatky includes the cost of gas and electricity. To find a Czech person to accompany you for the apartment search the best way is to ask at your job or language school.Perhaps offer to take them out of for dinner or lunch in return or a free English lesson or cash if necessary. Hi, Paul. You contents are so helpful. I am from Nigeria planning to move to Prague. I have a degree in business management but I currently work in an insurance company and I teach grade 1-2 kids on part time. Any advise on how to go about immigration from Nigeria, work because I will most likely love to teach. How soon can I get work and resident permit? Do I need to have some there to send me an invite?

Hi Paul thank you for your videos. They are quite helpful. I am just got a job offer to work in Prague. I am wondering if you tell me something about the living cost. Is the salary 42000czk per month enough ? And what's the meal voucher and how does it work? Many thanks in advance.

Hi, obviously it depends on your personal situation - if you are married, if you have kids, if you need a big apartment etc - but 42000 is an above average salary and you should be able to live very comfortably with it - congratulations. Meal vouchers are little coupons worth for example 100czk which you can use to pay for meals in most restaurants and also in food shops - they are very useful :) Good luck! PC

25k czk That's a very low salary. I have been offered around 130k per month base salary. I'm now doing my research to decide. What do you reckon, should I go for it? Is the tax really just 15percent or can you expect more deductions?
