A couple of famous St. Paul residents. Peanuts creator Charles Schulz, author Vince Flynn, also F. Scott Fitzgerald. UN General Secretary Kofi Annan attended Macalester College. And Elon Musk...sort of. Musk's family actually lived in St. Paul, and then they emigrated to South Africa and then he came back.
Taxes are high but st paul is much safer than other big cities, food and entertainment is great... you can get pretty much whatever you want from BbQ to Italian, Asian, or latin... even eastern block food and middle eastern. There's a college next city over so if you want D1 college, or pro sports like baseball, hockey, basketball, football, or soccer, all the pro sports are covered there too. Lakes and nature and farmland aren't far away if that what you want and Winters aren't as harsh anymore either. No mountains for people who want to hike and only average to below average for skiers but it's there.... Lindsey Vaughn is a minnesotan.
Taxes are unbelievably HIGH, Poor city services. The Mayor will not confront gangs or criminals. He continues to handcuff the police. Do not walk alone. Never go downtown at night by yourself.
I'm glad Highland Park made the list. I lived there when I graduated from college and got my first job in Minneapolis. Not too bad of a drive from St. Paul to Minneapolis (some days where bad), but you are so close theHockey
