Don't worry about places for your things. After you have lived in your new home your stuff finds their places, you find out what you need and where only by living. It's like with furniture, first you put them this way and after a while you notice they are better on the other way. Beautiful home! Have a wonderful time in making it yours ❤

Stop putting so much stress on yourself Jazzy. It's because everything is all jumbled at the moment, but once you start to put everything in its place, it will feel better. And you'll realise it wasn't as much stuff as you thought, it's just that a whole household worth of things were in one place lol Trust me, I've experienced it myself 😅

As someone who moved every year for 10 years, there is NO RUSH! You'll find a home for everything, just get the basics in ☺️ as for the bits and bobs, if you unpack a box per week, everything will find its home 🥰♥️

We were a military family and moved every 3 to 5 years. It is amazing how much stuff you collect in such a short time. Luckily we had movers so I didn't have to pack everything up. But I did have to unpack. I still have unpacked boxes from our last move 10 years ago. 😮 Good luck and happy times in your new home. ❤

Girl you could not have made this video series at a better time, I am about to move into my house in about 2 weeks and I've felt a lot of the similar emotions that you are having and just knowing that I'm not the only one makes me feel better. You have really encouraged me to let go and not hold on to so many items and I thank you for that, I've always felt like I've had so much more stuff than others.

I used to like that kind of mops but then it felt like they don’t get it clean so now I use a regular mop and bucket one a week and use them “fancy” mops in between 😊

Just be prepared to rearrange. You already had the right idea, trying to imagine where you would do what in your kitchen, but don’t be afraid, after a few weeks, to switch things around as you get accustomed to your new space. You’ll get it figured out. No one likes all the work of moving stuff around but sometimes it’s needed. So don’t stress too much. You got this!

Take it box by box. Set realistic goals for yourself, and as you reach those goals, mark it off. That way, you can physically see how far you have come. Just take things one step at a time. You've got this.

When I moved into my home I bought myself a 360 mop with a telescopic handle and a swivel head.. Best thing I ever did! Easy to sweep over the floor and the heads just snap on and pop off and go in the washing machines. Also if you’re like me and your always worried about using too much strength pushing down to drain the water it’s actually really fun to just spin the mop around to dry it out.. Totally recommend works great on large laminate areas ❤

Even with peal and stick, should still take a hair dryer or something to it to help loosen the stick to make it easier to pull off

Paprika! Usually use it to season everything! Potatoes and sweet potatoes or tomato based sauces. I bought the powermop and find it so useful! You have the premade solution and you just squirt out however much you want to clean the floor. And I also bought reusable mop pads so I could reuse them after a wash. Hope your new house brings you all the happiness that you both deserve 🎉😊

What my mom always says you can always put things where you think you want it. when you start to use your kitchen more. And find out it doesn’t work for you in that spot you can always move it to where it would work for you.

I know exactly what you mean about the kitchen. I had the same dilemma.. I was told a great tip.. put a couple of plates, dishes, cutlery, in cupboards where you think they should go. Then over the next couple of days, see which cupboard/ drawer you reach for when you need something, then put everything away in those cupboards. I guess, like you are doing now... ha ha ha

I have all my pots and pans in one cupboard up high out of the way. Ones i use less in back the ones i use more up front. I have all my cups bowls and plates in one cupboard. Under the sink area. The one above drying counter i use for cereals coffee etc every day needs..

When I moved in 2020, we wound up throwing out so much stuff. We had always planned on donating it when we moved but, because of Covid restrictions, the places we wanted to donate to weren't taking donations! But, we didn't have the ability to store it until it could be donated. So, most of it wound up in (or next to) the dumpster by our apartment. I knew that we had people who drove around looking for random things that people threw out, so I hope that some of it found a new home.

We just moved into our own house and we have SO much stuff! And I cried many times because I was overwhelmed and it felt like we were getting nowhere! But it DOES get better!❤️❤️

dishes AND cups in the same cupboard, you can take the plates out to prep and have them sitting behind you on the counter for plating but then less cabinets to have open when clearing the dishwasher

I'm so happy for you and Nick. Get your self a good steam mop. No harsh cleaners needed. Cleans and sanitizes with steam. They come with mop pads that you just toss in the washer. I think you will be happy with it. I always had a saying for moving.. you have to rush moving out but can take it easy when your in with no hurries!

That mop is a SWIFFER SWEEPER here in the US. They are a pain in the butt but also nice to have when there is a "small spill" that needs cleaned up.

Plates and bowls are fine up high or down low. Cups should absolutely go high up!! We don't have a lot of cupboard space so we had to put them low and it's a massive pain 😅

I have 2 spice seasonings that are twins and therefore tied for most used, in fact they go in and on everything. Smoked paprika and garlic powder.

I think it was just that kind of mop. We have a vacmop and love it! It gets the floor way cleaner than a mop and bucket. Congratulations on the new house!

Just be careful what goes in cabinet above the stove in case it get hot. Also the first mop u got is great for quick cleanups or just a refresher 😊

I've moved 4 times so far. Just put stuff away for now, because you will change it a round a few times until you find what works for you. Another idea for your spices is to get a piece of wood for the stuff at the back to sit on so you can see what you have. If I can think of anything else I'll let you know

I buy the aldi floor wipes for my flash mop, theyre about 90p for a pack and fit the flash mop, then i spray a bit of dettol and mop! Super handy as i have 2 messy kids and dont always have time to whip out the 'big' mop! And you can take the mop apart to make it smaller so my 4year old can mop too 😊 she loves it! Theyre not great as an everything mop 😂 but they are handy for in between mess! ❤

I alway stock dishes as close to sink or dishwasher, to make easy to put it away. Then when I need them I pull the out and put them next to cooking area.

The flash spray mob is better.. with reusable sleeves i had same one as you have and it unhygienic when changes them and costs arm and leg for small space the spray lasts longer and reusable sleeves

I always vacuum first before mopping. A steam mop was recommended in an earlier comment. I agree - they sanitize, too.

Smoked paprika is my favourite spice and it goes in pretty much everything. Also Worcestershire sauce is another staple for me, it’s my favourite thing to add to spaghetti bolognaise as it gives it so much more flavour. Don’t stress yourself out when you don’t need to

My cups go in upper cabinets because it's easier to lift them up there than heavy items. Hugs from America! ❤️

You can get holders that u can fix to the inside of your cupboard to hold cling film, foil etc

I moved house last week! Luckily I had started packing a while ago, however, I didn’t realise how much I would end up packing as it felt like there wasn’t THAT much. The final walk round, I found lots to add lol . I tried to do an ‘essentials’ box but completely forgot to take it on the first van. We also waited until 430pm for our keys - it felt like forever!!

Don’t listen to people telling you to not worry about where things go. If you want them in a certain place, then put them in a certain place. I am OCD about things and every little thing has a place in my kitchen and in my opinion, if it’s in that place, then I worry less lol I may have missed it, but was this a new construction? If it was that was kind of rude to leave that in the toilet and also not clean up dust afterwards. Just take your time, and go room by room and you’ll eventually get it. Much love.❤

The mop is good but it depends what kind of flooring you have. Not great on my new flooring but great on laminate

These mops are best for the in between actual mops or if you have a small area. I got the kind that you put the base in the wash after using it and it sprays disinfectant ahead

My husband and I have moved 8 times in 6 years (including 3rd floor and 3 level homes) 😭 He’s a contractor so we have lots of stuff and lots of tools - Heavy. Tools. We also have 2 pets and 2 vehicles. And yes, I also complain we have too much stuff because we do! lol I would take your move any day, if that tells you anything Jazz.

I have that mop. Its definately designed more for little rooms like bathroom. Or if you get a floor spillage. I tend to use a proper mop for big stuff

I use my flash mop for a quick clean but i mop properly once a week with hot water. Hope this helps

An emergency box? Never. I’ve moved a few times and I can tell you now it’s just so much easier to order takeaway or just get disposable plates, and buy cup noodles and soup etc. Yes, the kitchen is always one of the last places you pack but I pack everything when I pack the kitchen

the top drawer underneath the stove on the middle island im sure has a small skinny drawer at the top that also pulls out!

What's benhind the door in the kitchen? That could be the pantry? I have a pantry that i keep my food that doesn't need to be put in the fridge. You could order a standup cupboard and use that to put your food in. Im just giving you some ideas.

If you struggle with a usual toilet brush and the thought of germs on it like me 🤣 duck do a disposable refill brush for your toilet & you just clean the toilet and the refill goes straight into the toilet once finished and pop a new refill on it for next time 💙 it’s perfect!!!

If they are floating floorboards, be careful with too much water washing them as you can damage them with too much water.

Don’t try too hard, I know the kitchen is the main area u want to do first but just open boxes and place in an area the groups of items, ie toaster, kettle, coffee machine, plates, bowls etc and gradually place them where you think u will need them but also bare in mind you will probs move stuff around numerous times before u make the final decision on there place xx

The mop with refill bottles looks like aerican swiffer and c they work much better as you control how much solution is used and the pads are thicker BUT those mops are meant tor light every day cleaning you do need an old school mop n bucket for all the workmen dust

Garlic powder and onion powder……used for everything! I’m American and we have to refrigerate our milk and eggs! I also keep my spices in the freezer!

Something that may work next time you want to remove wallpaper is to peel it off at a diagonal. I've only ever done that with masking tape on watercolour and mixed media paper so as not to damage the paper, but it may work with wallpaper too 🙂

Cups go high because they are light and so you are less likely to drop them on your head as opposed to if you put heavy things up there.

Spices in draws are always the way forward!

I spy Method cleaner! Theyre the best. Tesco have a custard cream scented one at the moment which is gorgeous, if you use 2 sprays of that with 1 spray of the rhubarb one it smells JUST like the sweets 😍

I think that our "things" multiply while we move...lol It is so hard sorting out how your kitchen works best, I take so much time getting it right, good luck :).

I love the mops similar to that but you have microfiber clothes that come off and straight in the wash. So have 5 different clothes and I hoover then i use cleaning sprays/zoflora sprays and the mop to clean it up

Leaving any sort of sticky paper or tape for a long time will damage the wall. It’s not Truely rental friendly unless sits on something that can’t be damaged. Good luck 😊

Mop recommendation… my steam mop changed my life 😂 so easy to use and you just throw the pad in the washing machine after so you’re not having to keep buying new ones! I also HATED the flash mop!!!

Your cupboards will take a while to figure out because you dont know how you are going to use your new kitchen! Congratulations!! Start somewhere where it makes it easier right now and move them later. Ive lived in the same place for 7 years and I still change where things go because I'm renting and cant change the cupboards to what is useful. I tey to not have 2 of the same in my spices but i do have a ton of spices i also buy in bulk so i do store stuff in bags. I also can so i need certain things for it. Maybe plates and bowls on your right where you had the measuring cups and put those om the lower shelf or with the pots and pans?

You should try a steam mop, they are great for getting the dirty up and really gets in the grooves of the flooring
