Bringing you guys another Riding Shotgun with Ambro's Landscaping, we head over to our largest condo to do our weekly mowing. With the fertilizer kicking in and some water, the grass really took off....so we went and grabbed the dump trailer to help us haul away what we thought would be a lot of grass clippings!

No matter how you slice it , it’s a ton of work this time of year, so much growth , lush , stays wet for most of the morning . I’m solo also , everything takes twice as long this time of year . Thanks for making the video . It to adds time in your day when you already feel behind . I’m double cutting everything, takes longer but makes the stripes pop. The walker does a great job . In the wet grass it doesn’t clog up on you. I had a 99 mt. I found it clogged easily. Switched to the 56 inch deck . It loved grass . Keep up the good work. Love the house.

Should make a spot out of the side of the wood on the trailer. Where one of the panels pops out so u can dump ur mower over the metal trailer side.

Walkers to me cut the nicest and leave the nicest lines but I think you should be going around the perimeter then back and forth leaving nice lines especially in a condo complex because they will be alot happier with the way it looks but keep up the good work

You can use a backpack blower to dispures the left over trimmings . But that adds time aswell

I like the idea of the Walker mower. Just don't like the little steering sticks. Would love the combo of the hustler style with the Walker grass catcher. Give me the lap bars. Nice work looks great.

Sell the hustler and get a Gravely with a mulching kit. No need to use the walker on all the front yards like that. I cut a neighborhood (120 front yards in a day) with my gravely and have no trouble with leaving a mess, residents never complain. You cannot complain with a walker though, I love them during fall time. Hearing that beeper is the worst though lol

If your mowing wet grass with the walker, change the screen out in the hopper to the big hole screen. It doesn’t get clogged up and stop airflow through the machine. Less clumps and clogging.

How much time do you spend driving to the trailer and back to dump your walker bagger? Would it be equivalent to the time it takes to double cut?

I know you know your property better than me, but have you tried cutting it .25 to .5" higher when mulching. I have found that sometimes it cuts better esp. with different mowers. Also a discharge blocker is often times better for the common areas because you can open it up which leads to less clumping and then if needed for certain areas you can close it off and mulch.

I’m currently cutting at 3.5” and if I go to 4”, it will do good in the dry grass but in the damped or wet grass it folds over to much. I’ve been looking at getting a blocker for the Hustler for sure though

I agree about the wet grass difference, man on video it looks like you are cutting lower than 3.5". My gravely pro stance does good 3.5" and under, but over that it does the same thing I see in your video, clumping. My Exmark does way better at 4.0", I noticed they have different blades though, don't know how much that plays into it or if it is just deck design itself. For the fronts of my communities I need the exmark because it does better with my chute closed, virtually no clumps, but in the common areas with chute open they both do great. Try the discharge blocker where you can play with it open or closed, might help you out and cut down on time.

Have you ever had any issues with the Walker going up into the dump trailer? Looks like it works great.

No problems for me. Sometimes the bottom of the deck catches on the edge of the trailer but all you have to do it tilt the dump up a little for a smoother edge

Always appreciate your videos. If you had to purchase a mower for 20 small/medium yard which would you purchase, Ferris stander 52 inch or Exmark walk behind turf tracer 52 keep in mind this is a PT business I’m 44 with 2 kids in college.

Grassology4610 exmark 48 turf tracer. 6 grand brand new. Eletric start. Best cut on the market. Get. The kawasaki motor. We've got a kohler efi 52 inch but kawa has been more reliable

Grassology4610 Tennessee. We run 52 and 48 all day long. If you have a lot of back gates to get into you'll need a 48 or you will be push mowing all day. Which means loss of $ 48's still get the job done fast on decent sized yards. 52 feels massive compared to 48. 52 hold hills a little bit better. And of course more power. The 48s can hold their own all day.

I have heard good things about Ferris and especially their standers in the US but where I am in Australia basically no one goes near them. Just their lowest grade 42" resi zturn will set you back over $8k. It's nuts. A lot of their dealers over here are absolute rubbish as well. I have one near my family farm and I think he lost his customer service attitude at birth. He has some nice mowers there but man I'm an idiot if I hand over $10k for a half-decent landowner Ferris to a bloke who doesn't even seem to want me there. Aside from that their sit-downs just feel flimsy as well, everything is so thin and uncomfortable. Their "suspension" is way overrated too. If I was that serious about needing a smoother ride I would go a Toro Z Master or Titan HD which has a very nice suspension seat anyhow and is priced way better or if absolutely needed a Toro with the MyRide system. I can't really speak for the Ferris standers though because they don't sell them here. Have a look at Martyn from Mowing & Growing's channel he used to run a Ferris and he will go to town for you about their dealer support and mower quality lol ;D

I demoed a side discharge deck last year for the Walker and it did great, only problem was it constantly blew grass into the flower beds which caused more work for me of spraying the weeds. If I had a chute blocker it would be better

Ambro's Landscaping Inc. Yes a zero turn is easier to aim the grass chute away from the beds as well, and grassflap makes a chute blocker which works great. I suggest checking it out. Mulch kits in my opinion seem to just make a clumpy mess. Discharging disperses the clippings nicely and u barely notice them.

I5 been very wet here to I have to bag even on my 30 inch toro once it stop rain I can go back to muching I just got my walker this year a c 19 it took I little to get use to it but it cites great and the stripes are great

The way your business is growing with how many clients you have you need to find some workers that can help you out. The way I see it with around 5 guys you could’ve sent four to do the condo association and the other guy with you doing some other work like a mulch job or something

i wouldnt be mulching id be shooting it out the side let it fade in, if they want it all bagged, add it to the cost i run walkers too. research why ur not stripping, no, quick answer be sufficient but.

Jw why do you mow in circles? Mybe just the way the videos portrays it but that's nice grass and with a walker you can make suck beautiful lines instead of just going in circles. Jw if I'm missing something
