Thank you for pointing out to me that my favorite watercolor brushes (Neptune) are actually made of synthetic hair!!! I didn't realize that - all the time I thought they are made of natural hair because they look so real! Even better that they are not made of natural hair - it proves the point even better that synthetic brush hair is as good as natural hair! Yay! 😍

I am a complete beginner with watercolours and just ordered these paints based on Amazon reviews. I then decided to come onto RU-vid and see what other people think of them. I am so glad that people seem to like them! Your painting is absolutely stunning! I would love to be able to get results like that! Maybe in the future 😂

Well I made a review of the neon watercolors from Mozart and disliked them quite a lot. I could not layer them properly because the quality is very low and they react in such a bad way to scanners or light that I prefered not to use them for future watercolors arts. I don’t know much of the regular colors but having the Kuretake I don’t feel like I need the Komorebi... Nevermind my test, I really like your piece and the metallic effects you gave the dragon with these pinky violet hairs ! I wish to see you paint more with only watercolors and without pencils as you did with the cold pressed arches paper ^^

Thank you for making such wonderful videos Lioba and I love all your artworks! Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Princeton Neptune series are actually synthetic brushes. I have a few of them and when I bought them at the store, the label says they are synthetic. You might also like da Vinci CASANEO brushes. Like Neptune they are synthetic as well but do feel like natural brushes. I like them just as much as my Neptune brushes.

@@LiobaBrueckner That goes to show just how good they are! :D . I think Princeton would be happy to know that professional artists like you think that their synthetic brushes are comparable to natural hair brushes.

Lovely work, the face turned out so nice! I was pretty impressed with the Komorebi watercolors, considering how affordable they are. For some reason my tin smelled pretty bad, like chemicals, but otherwise I loved the colors and the metallics had decent sparkle. I was happy to see the brushes were synthetic. I know you said you were happy with them, but did you feel like they held enough water - say compared to the Neptune which is also synthetic? (I know, Neptune is a special sort of amazing at holding water compared to most non-animal hair brushes lol.)
@LiobaBrueckner
@LiobaBrueckner 5 лет назад
Whaa? Neptunes are synthetic, too? I thought they were natural hair brushes! Omg. So the Polina Brushes hold as much water as the Neptune ones but are not that soft! That is the only difference except for the size and the form of the brushes obviously that I noticed! :)

Oh and yes, I remember now where you mentioned it, they did smell pretty strong, that's true!

@@LiobaBrueckner I know right? It's kinda epic how awesome a job Princeton brush company did with nailing a synthetic fiber to mimic squirrel hair :D

If they're gansai they're made with animal bone glue, that always smells a bit yucky.
