i have the mp midi 2a like yours. It can be tricky to set up first time but very worth it. Its much easier the second time. THee hand on c control this give is amazing. Trying to fully map some plugins is a challenge like arturia pigments 5 but get the core down and it great. For plugins like sylenth 1 or va synths its easy. The recently updated the number of pages from 128 controls to 16 pages and 512 controls this is hands down the big dog of midi controllers. I use mine paired with a push 3. Its so hands on its mental. For mixing I use fader port 8 its a killer combo and a very out of box experience.
I just went completely next level and set up an SSL UC1 & UF1 combo with my MP Midi Controller and Push3. It’s really a dream system. I probably never would have gotten into hardware music gear if this stuff was around a decade ago.
Reminds me of the PPG Realiser. Which is not a bad thing. Looks like it could be a perfect match for my Bitwig Studio The Grid built dream synthesizer (which combines a lot of CS80 influences with granular sampling and resonator modeling). Great jam, by the way!
Hey PETE. HERE'S a question: Have you considered trying out a comparison between Tasty Chips GR MEGA GRANULAR WORKSTATION MONSTER and the TORSO S-4? It occurred to me that YOU are just the man to do hits. IT may appear that I have bias towards the Tasty Chip (and I might) but something tells me that the S-4 might be THE COOL KID bit of kit. Am I to understand that one sees the full computer screen which is then surrounded by configurable labels for the controllers? Or is that “screen” an individual, resizable portion of the VST’s surface on which one can zoom in?
I also added a comment to an official video asking what happens if there is no VST but you want to work in the DAW itself, as in my case The Grid within Bitwig Studio. Hast du eine Ahnung?
In principle, it should work, there is an app that turns the device into a more general midi controller. The display is always used as a second desktop, that is not restricted to plugin windows.
@@PeteMidi How stable is it? I have become a bit apprehensive about boutique manufacturers ever since I bought a Tasty Chips GR1 years ago. It didn’t work properly and the manufacturer simply refused to fix the problem. I suspect it was totally bug ridden. I had to become quit firm to make them take it back.
Up to now my experience is very good (macbook air m1 sonoma & ableton). Hardware and Software seem to be in a stable state, no crashes so far. I had a few times contact with the support, always with a prompt and competent response.
