Mp3 Player Battery Hack 

Well bud we live in a "throw away" or some would call it a disposable world unfortunately. If people only realized how much more we can get out of these things before we just throw things away. This would be the perfect example.. And of course they want you to buy a new one.. More $$$$ for them.. :) Thanks for sharing Kev. Happy new Years my friend and all the best in 2018.. :)

I have a slightly unusual situation with a Coby MP-705 that has an important recording on it (belongs to someone else) - the battery appears to be flat (2.2v) and won’t charge by USB. Won’t turn on or connect to a PC either. A question; if I disconnect the battery to replace it, will it lose the contents of the storage? i.e. after replacing the battery, did yours still have MP3s stored on it? Thanks

I had a Sony Walkman that wouldn't take a charge so I went looking for a replacement battery with no luck. I found one the same size as the other battery and it fit like the old one did and I was lucky it was the same 3.7 volts. :-)

I did this to one of my players at least 3 times. I have this 2GB slick mp3/video player that I got about 10 years ago and I have to sacrifice one of my DIY flashlight mods for the battery. The battery that was in my player was a 450mA Lipo and it was puffed and the player wouldn't turn on. Going to pop the old one and film it.

I need a battery for a Sandish sansa fuse.. The battery is very small end it has three wires red black and white. Do you have any idea how I might find a battery for this type of configuration? Thanks for any help you can give.

How long is a battery power in that supposed to last, 1 hour and a half ? or two hours.. i bought mine used off of ebay. and it dies after 1 hour..can you share the battery serial ## so i can get one..

Hi Kevys, this is Matt here. I do have a similar one like yours. This works alright, The software screen is a bit cracked and the screen is showing lines on the very top of the screen. I have tried fixing this myself. I can't get the square, I think that is the battery but not sure to fit in properly. So what I have done is just use some double sided cellotape just to cellotape the side and the top of the mp3 player? Do you know how the square part can be put into place so the back part of the mp3 player can fit together if that makes sense? (The square part is the batter but not sure) Matt

Mp3 players are very hard to find in stores, I got the very last SanDisk Clip Sport that was in Target's clearance rack.

Ten years ago, I got a cheap Timkoo as a gift now the battery is dead. I can find 3.7V 1000 mah on line but not the same model number xht. Does model number matter?

Hello, I have been using the mp3 player coby MP-C7085 since years but recently, it stopped charging on. The thing is that I have been trying to follow your video but the battery is glued on the back of the display screen and I am scared to pull it off and ruin everything.

Bought HIBY R5, battery package was big so that the back never stayed on. I took the pack apart but left the connection. Did I screw up my new HIBY?

This fits perfect for my AGPTEK A08 MP3/Flac player. I was about to order a new MP3 player from amazon but refused to keep polluting the planet with plastic. And knowing the problem was only the battery I started to look and look for a battery replacement. Then found your video. Thanks a lot. I will order the Helicopter SYMA S107 battery for my mp3 before it dies. Soldering is not a problem to me.

We have 2 of these with bad batteries they were good units. Think I will try this.

U get me started!!! :-) ok now little help here as i'm not an expert...went and look for the battery and found 2 models (sizes and voltage are the same).. 1 is 300mAh (as the original) and the other one is 450. With the latter the mp3 should last longer...Am i right? Any drawbacks? THX in Advance
