2007 GMC Sierra Replaced the high-low shift fork, chain and encoder motor. I cut out about 20 minutes of me trying to get the snap ring in the rear case to go around the bearing on the output shaft. Radio out in the shop was entirely to loud sorry about that.

More power, not that I know of. Swap, not that I know of. Updated parts to help with the problems they have. Seals, range fork and sleeve, motor, HD levers, output shaft and snap ring.

Thanks for posting, I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the MP3023 tc, am I right in thinking only the rear wheels are driven until they start to slip, the speed difference between the two axels then engages the clutch pack to also drive the front axel? If so, is this why different tyre sizes front to back cause tc issues as they wind the transmission up? Thanks in advance if you have the time to answer.

It is not just front to rear. Any tire that is different will cause problems. Get people all the time that come in and get pissy with me when I tell them they have to go buy four new tires. They always say I just bought one or two not that long ago, usually it is one, why do I need to buy four. Well, you don't, but you do if you want your problem to go away. Drive it long enough and you will destroy your transfer case. One of the disadvantages of an AWD system. Same thing happens on vehicles with cornering technology like BMW's. At least on those it just won't shift properly. Thanks for watching.

Because a different size tire has a different rotational speed that the computer translates as slip and tries to compensate for it. In the BMW's case it translates that as you are in a cornering situation when you are not.

Does the case bypass the clutch pack when shifted to part time?

This unit does not have a part time mode, it is full time 4wd and the clutch is constantly working. It has 4wd auto, neutral and 4wd low. Should never be driven in 4wd low on dry pavement. One of the bad things about full time 4wd and awd vehicles is the tires have to all match. I get people in all the time because they replaced a tire and they started having problems. They get really upset when I tell them they have to now go buy 4 new tires to correct their problem, or before I will even think about working on their vehicle. It does not take long to take out one of these units because of that.

What snap ring pliers were used for snapping the tail housing lock at the end?

was using 3 and they were all Snap-on SRP5A, SRP3 and I believe the ones I used at the end were SRP1B.Very hard to get in there because of the 2 holes, they should have made it a slot like all the others.

Tom Bearden Working on exact model but all my pliers are too flat to grab it and yes thinking about cutting those 2 damn circles and turning it into an oval shape like on the New Process transfer cases. Been stuck on the tail housing for 2 hours and almost thru a tube of silicone. Thanks for the info
