part 2!! • MPC 1000 How to progra... A short how to: setting up program changes with an mpc 1000 to sequence a bass station 2 and a miniak with bank select using msb lsb.
That was awesome. Once again proves that the MPC 1000 is an incredible device for writing, recording, editing, experimenting with, and performing electronic music of all kinds.
You can also implement these changes during your sequence if you really wanted two separate sounds from your bass station in one sequence. You would simply need to send the program change at the right time (like a pause in the music) and record that into the mpc. If you were playing program 5, and wanted to change to program 32, overdub from a place slightly before the new sound is played and using a controller send the program change. That's how they recorded multiple instances of the same instrument with a two-track midi recorder in the 80's!
I was struggling with how to send bank and program changes from my mpc 2500 to my yamaha synth, your video has helped me to overcome my obstacle. Much thanks!
Great video . Please, do you know why everytime I press [start] button on the Akai 1000 , Novation bass program goes to 1 (it also happen on Juno 106 synth)? Regards
Huge Thanks for explanation Sir. I control my Korg Pa 1000 with Roland A-500 Pro. I can select styles, sounds etc. via controller A-500 Pro. But I cannot control Keyboard Sets. For example to assign Pilot Lead Keyboard Set to external controller Roland A-500 Pro, I programm MSB: 16, LSB: 7 and PC: 11 as per chart on Korg Pa1000 manual. But it gives different sound. I added +1 to PC but no success. I spent several days, but no success. Could you please help? Thanks in advance
Can you save the Keyboard Set into a blank SongBook entry and then select that? I am not familiar with the PA1000.. If that doesn't work, I would email Korg Technical Support
Hi there! i fallow your channel, thank you so much for doing this. i just bought recently an mpc and fix it, and I tried to load some modular samples that are converted ,from 24bit to 16bit as is required, and I get some error when I try to play or load. i also try to load them unconverted but still the same problem.
Thanks for the follow! I recommend trying a free program called MPC Maid. Basically it is a utility to setup and assign samples, BUT also it will play samples if they are in the correct format (so use it to test your samples first!) Also you can use Audacity to export your samples because I've read they do need to be 16bit AND 44.1khz and wav format. Good luck!
Dude, thanks for loading this. I've been trying to do this by adding a program change into the step sequencer menu and it hasn't been working as desired. Hopefully this'll do the trick.
+will scott If you do that I will be forced into believing that a super natural power exists solely to make my life better. haha It would help a great deal if you end up finding time to do that other video. I'm slowly wrapping my head around what the MPC can do and how it works. You seem like you have been using yours for some time now.
