1st!!! And btw, thank you so much for your videos. I bought akai mpk mini mk3 and i was unable to find tutorials on that or even mpc beats until I found your channel. Thank you so much
Yo Matthew I actually got the same scarlett 2i2 4 months ago. So fortunate to come across these videos. You helped me to make an informed decision when I decided to get an MPC Live 2! So worth it! I'm working on getting an Audio Technica turntable soon!
FYI, you can plug a record player into the Focusrite solo. I bought a female RCA to male xlr. Straight into the interface, and it’s working. Had to play around with some settings tho. Dig the content man, as a newb I really appreciate these videos thanks!!!
@@norfsidedre3333 In audio input needs to be set to mono input 1 (or whatever input your using), output is stereo 1,2. These settings need to be set the same way on the sampler format, also in sampler format monitor needs to be on.
Matthew!! Dude, I just listened to your story on the Think Media Podcast and I just wanted to say you're a huge inspiration. One of my goals is to go full time with RU-vid and your story was truly inspiring.
HI Matthew - shouldnt the TS adaptors be red and black in color to match the stereo analog rca. I was told that 2 black will only produce a mono signal. you need the red and black colored ts adaptors? or am I wrong on this. thanks for the clarification
Hey Matt thanks for the video but I work with the MPC software and Im using MPC Live 2 and apolllo twin..whats the connection for going out from tuntable ?..is it OUT to MPC or Interface?
Hey, i just want to connect my turntable to my active speakers (krk rokit), so that the sound of the vinyl comes out of the monitors. can i do that by putting the xlr cables from my turntable with the cinch adapter on it to my interface, which is connected to the monitor speakers?
Will this technique work for just plain listening? Without the whole laptop set up? I have your exact set up monitors and the scarlet set up. I just don’t really need to sample anything. I just wouldn’t want to listen and use the scarlet as my volume.
noob question: if i were to connect my turntable like you showed and i had also a headphone amp/splitter plugged in the outputs of the audio interface, would i be able to listen to the turntable through my headphones? ( and also, eventually, through my monitors since they are plugged into the bypass output of the amp)
Thank you so much for this! Now I have the Behringer u-phoria umc22 audio interface. It has one combo XLR/line input and a second input which is for an instrument. There are two gain knobs. Will it work just like the focusrite 2i2?
Do you know of any Audio Interface that has a pre-amp build in acting as a phono to line-level directly ? The Arturia AudioFuse appears to have that that among its multiple features but I need something eventually more affordable just for analog synths and a turntable
Hey Matthew I’m having problems with my sampling I have the same connections you did and my MPC beats software it’s not receiving the audio from my record player on my MPC beats software audio preferences there is no input active window only active output window I have MPC beats 2.8 do you think it might be a problem with the software or my connection because I have a turntable with a phono line switch I can hear the audio from the record player on my monitors but the audio from the record player is not going inside the MPC beats software Any suggestions please help can sample with my records so frustrating
Nice video.. I think I just have a faulty Nu mark because I hooked it up.. It worked for 5 mins again.. I flipped the record and there's no levels and nothings playing out the speakers or anything.
Can you listen to the vinyl this way through your speakers coming out the interface? Or does monitoring need to be on through the DAW? Is a pre amp necessary I have presonus interface?
If your Audio Interface has direct monitor you should be able to monitor anything you put into your inputs without a DAW. You don't need a preamp if your turntable has one, if not you will need a preamp if you have a traditional turntable to correct the RIAA eq curve.
