@@decaystarthat makes no sense you can have it in. Controller mode and never touch the computer . Your just using the computer for storage and processing power. Initially I felt the same and used my mpc in standalone for about a year , I hooked it up to the computer one day and never looked back. Standalone is nice but I forget I’m attached to the computer .

Lol that's what I'm thinking. It looks like stand alone but everyone is saying not on stand alone yet. Which brings me to the conclusion that what you said is probably correct.The daw in the computer is hidden .

I've updated my software to version 2.14.0 and have bought Stems, but when I go to the activation section of preferences to activate it, there's no activate button for it. I'm stuck and confused as to what the problem is.

The server issues have now been fixed. There’s a backlog of activations in the system which is causing your delay. Should take much longer.

I remember sitting around in the studio in the early part of the 90’s talking about the day when we will be able to separate songs into stems for more flexibility. We predicted that by 2013 or so it would be here.

That ESG record has never been officially reissued as far as I know. The tracks have been comped but they’re not at 45rpm which is needed to sound like a the UBB version.

Been doing this live with #Djayapp direct into any sampler…. Anyhoo quit stalling with the software AKAI , after all the software came before the hardware… I got the mpc 1000 and MPC STUDIO, enough already, stop over producing and over consuming resources.

I would buy an akai mpckey37 - tomorrow - if it had as much ram as my 3 year old cell phone, and I'd pay another 100-150 for it too. 2GB is not enough to do anything. I really think they screwed up the price point and its kinda sad, because its so close to perfect. I will wait for the pro-37 or whatever they decide to rebrand or cook up next year when they come to their senses.

Its time for an xr21, with all the improvements one can think of. Keep the simplicity of the xr20 ui and add more features and a real synth engine and multiple 5 pin midi outs. Ive already got my main synth rig so i just want an updated xr20 style drum machine to pair it with.

I have an MPC One+ and the sampling program freezes occasionally, requiring a restart. It performs terribly, and on the Mac version, it’s highly unstable, making it difficult to accomplish anything. I’m using a MBP M1 Pro with 16GB. The stem in the software is terrible; the MPC freezes and reverts to the “looking for computer” screen. I use mpc driver and 256 sample latency.

You can get any drums off any records, also no producer's drums are safe either. Where there's a gift, theres potentially a curse as well. Its all about how you use it.
