I already installed 3.0 and have been using it for a few hours now. I am very happy with what I have seen, and I have had no issues with stability or performance.
This is a massive shift from the previous version. It's like learning a new instrument. I have a feeling plenty of people are going to be pissed off at first, but it'll die down. I'm liking it.
@uberd0gAlpha Yeap, it's definitely different! I LOVE the new look, and the workflow fits my way of thinking. Even in MPC2, I simulated a linear workflow by copying and pasting in "Track View". Then I'd just delete whatever I needed to get the beat how I wanted
A number of problems with v2xxxx could not be fixed without a redesign of the architecture. Typically, the underlying structure of the software dictates the UI, rather than the other way around. It will absolutely appear different. Yet, the changed workflow rationale will be better since there were two major releases and tons of data to justify the enhancements of v3. It will be exponentially better.
Not a good start on MPC LIVE II: After installation, as long as the Beta was not activated, there was a VERY loud and ascending sine wave in the loudspeakers, followed by a burst of white noise, in a loop every 30 seconds or so. I thought it was a hardware failure. After the Beta activcation, this seems to be gone though. Nothing I would like to hear again... I also had quite some hassle with not-found plugin folders, and the already activated "Studio Strings" plugin needed to be activated again. I could browse existing projects, but not load most of them (just resulting in a blank project). The ones I managed to open sounded completely weird. I decided to downgrade to 2.15 and that was straightforward. Everything seems OK again.
Just a little heads up for MPC Akai Key 61 owners. I had trouble updating several times, this might be because of several reasons you may experience, so I am giving you a heads up: 1) If you fail to upgrade via USB. then... 2) Pull out ALL of your USB connected hubs. 3) Make sure to format the USB disk first, don't have any files on it - even if it finds the file, it will try to update, blink a few times and revert to the old OS. 4) Make sure you find a compatible usb stick, modern fast ones may not work, so if you use a slower old one, it will work. I tried several USB memories, the oldest slow one worked.
Thanks! I'm using an MPC Live 2 and the USB install quit and the MPC rebooted as if nothing had changed. That was using a micro SD card in a USB reader. I tried your suggestion of using an older memory card and found an older standard SD card and plugged it into an older USB SD converter I had, copied the file again and it worked perfectly. So if the install just quits, an older or different USB drive (and/or SD card) might make a difference as it did for me.
Akai now show more love to FORCE unit, tools like euclidian sequencer and more goodies from the oxi one and hapax sequencers into the force. Make connection between the mpc3 software and the force possible and all the missing plugins...🤞 Force can be so much more against push3SE, make it octatrack future proof 😉
@@AkaiProVideo Yes, I’ve been trying to get this free update through your website but Fast Spring is saying they can not process my order. I’ve contacted FastSpring they were no help and I contacted InMusic about it and still waiting on a reply, but Akai and InMusic are really good about helping. So while everyone else is enjoying 3.0 most of us are still waiting. InMusic needs to ditch FastSpring.
I have to say. In the last 8 days I have made more music than I have in the last 8 months. Sure there are issues (time signatures my biggest) but this update just brings everything in the mpc together. Well done and looking forward to the full release.
Thanks for MPC3! But bid you have to launch it today!?! Astro Bot on PS5 is also released today so now my priorities are in total in disarray. Installed ok, but did have a weird sonar pulse and a white noise riser happening every 30 seconds or so. All tracks muted. A good old restart seemed to fix it. Beta fun!
Amazing update !! But please when would it be available as software for us desktop producers ? Those of us who have been on MPC 2 desktop software ? Been waiting on the major updates MPC 3 has for agessss. Now it is here. When we gon' get itttt pleaseee ?
Thanks Akai...when can we expect something new for Force, please? I got both and I use Force daily with other synths and love it, its my favorite instrument, brain of my studio
Love the new update a few glitches here and there and some crazy white noise and sounds during the installation. It went away after reboot, but it is a much more intuitive workflow that I like cheers Akai ❤
they started implementing that noise a while back. This was a new noise and sound that comes periodically to mess up your music until you activate legitly
A visual copy and paste (and erase) function in the arranger window like in grid mode would be great. By the way: Why the hardware "copy" button goes to "copy pad" in arranger mode? Why not e.g. copy bars? Going over menus is always much slower than direct access...
Here is the solution that worked for me after updating to the MPC 3 Beta. (That's if your moc won't log in and connect after updating) 1. If you have updated, please down grade. 2. If you haven't, log in on the previous MPC 2 firmware and then log into your music account. You will get a code. Use this code to log in. 3. Update usung a computer (updater 3.0) and then the inmusic account will be already logged in after updating. 4. Proceed to activate the MPC 3.0 Beta. All the best.
It's crazy watching people come into the comments just to complain. Y'all don't got nothin better to do?! Lol! Anyway, glad this is available for us to test! Thanks Akai for always looking ahead and keeping the community in mind! Let's gooooo!!!

@@Aeuss-music To be fair the already had most of this & more so Akai doesn't feel the need to rush & they said that an update is coming. I we just the MPC grow up a bit & BAM! A new Force Update. We may need to wait until the official MPC3 OS drops.
@@Harlem-Instrumental understand, but I want soon new update because of I bought expansions to Hype and OP4X where Is written support for Force will come, but dont know when.....I am waiting from April this year for this update, this is my main reason, to finally use these expansions on Force too as Its written...think marketing from Akai do this mistake still (MPC 3 Beta)...
I've gotten through all the steps but there's no ACTIVATE button beside MPC 3 Beta for my Live 2. MPC 3 Beta appears at the bottom of the list but no option to ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE. Please help.
Yes, you can import projects from V2. If your project has many different sequences that contain different instruments on different tracks, we recommend that you import a single sequence at a time.
Did everything and cannot activate. My Beta is registered on the InMusic site, but I get a "Log in to activate" on my MPC one screen. Please help! My MPC One does NOT have wifi... this video skips THE STEP I can't complete! Thanks!
Mpc one owner here, and I'm having the same problem can't activate the beta, only refresh is lit. Can't logout or enter serial numbers or nothing, and getting stranger white noise sounds. Smh
I like the update overall. Is full backward compatibility coming soon? Previous projects with multiple instances of the same program or plugin instrument do not load or play correctly. Outside of that it’s already staring to feel more efficient.
I like the update a new way to arrange your music!! performance and setlist folders and sounds not showing up but I understand it's beta... keep up the good work.. thanks akai
I have the OG MPC One. Which is a total pain in the arse to connect using the cable into our Web router. So I activation is gonna be impossible without web connection/account.
@@AkaiProVideo Dear Akai, I have downloaded the MPC 3 Beta. Registered using the same email address as my account. I have copied the file over to a USB 2.0 stick. I booted up my OG MPC One. I then went to prefs/update/usb drive update. Unfortunately the firmware update was halted during the first 10 seconds with a message box "There is a problem with the update file. Please check the file and try again" I have tried this several times. Fresh download, different usb sticks. Never had any problems in the past with such firmware updates. Shame I was hyped up like a kid at Christmas. Blessings from a Brit in Berlin.
I had no problems on my MPC one as well. Just wanting them to now update the PC software to match the standalone software so controller mode gets to utilize the new layout on bigger and more screens
Hey so I’ve installed the beta and logged in to my account BUT when I scroll down to the bottom I see Mac 3 beta but no button for Activation - any tips ?
Akai, maybe you should put some videos on things to think about when importing older projects. And also, why do you need our phone number? Simply put this on our regular accounts. Dont complicate things
Do you think we can get some of the other plugins compatible with stand alone, like xpance or like a plugin with world/ethnic instruments or maybe update fabric with these?
I updated to MPC 3.0 but when I got to activate it on with an Ethernet connection don't give the option. As well I also noticed that I don't get the QR code to connect to my InMusic account how to fix it?
@@AkaiProVideo I did this and my product did automatically register at InMusic but I stil get a screen that says "To Enable Audio in this beta, please log on to your In Music profile." Must i connect via Ethernet? What is the process for ACTIVATION on a machine without WiFi access?? Thanks for nay help you can provide!!
I got problem with mine, at first when I downloaded it I was pissed. because when I pressed empty project it loaded up with trap drum and when I wanted to listen to my song it sounded so different it took off the mute on certain beats of mine I took off mpc3 right away and stuck with the original. Is there away to sort it or do I have to wait until the proper one arrives
Great Update! Thanks to the developers at Akai - you did an amazing job. I got two questions so far : - how can I delete a sequence if i don’t need it anymore or accidentally created one? If i click on the pencil icon there is no option… - why are all my plugins „activaing“ again and again every time i create a new project without turning off the MPC? Are those BETA bugs? ✌️
OK akai....thank you for dropping the standalone MPC3 for us! I love you for that. But may I please ask for you to update the accompanied mpc software on the PC so controller mode can utilize the update on the MPC? This would be monumental guys...there's a lot if advantages to using it in controller mode such as multiple screens and access to more of everything and bigger. But as it stands...using controller mode bumps you back to 2.15 and therefore I can't use the update.😮😮😮
Is the only way to login on an MPC1 to use Ethernet?? Why?? This is super inconvenient. EDIT1: managed to get a cable and connect but there is no activate button 🤦♂️ EDIT2: all good. Quite a hassle but the update looks great 👍
Sometimes you have to wait a liitle before it's linked to your email or something, I had a similar thing happen with a plugin I bought. As long as you used the same email you use for your inmusic account the button should show eventually.
"Activate tour license to use your Mpc X" ... That's all. On my Inmusic account i just have a "registered" Mpc3 beta with a serial number and nothing saying how to activate it.
I just don't understand why 3.0 looses the track mutes in song mode when importing 2.x projects. All of my songs were arranged by switching tracks on and off.
What about us MPC ONE users that don’t have WIFI on the MPC? My standalone Stems isn’t working for the same reason. I plug the MPC One into my computer as controller as well, no joy. Smh
Thanks for this, I was reading the quickstart guide and wondered where the activation serial code was, your quickstart guide says: "6. Tap Enter Serial at the top of the Activations screen and enter the MPC3 Beta serial number that was provided to you. Tap Register to register your serial number. A message will appear indicating the MPC3 Beta has been registered to your inMusic Profile. Tap Ok to dismiss." Good to know I just need to activate the same way as plugins.
On the MPC one I connected to Ethernet and confirmed that it shows connected in preferences, the activations tab is stuck on attempting to connect to network for over 10 minutes, any suggestions?
@@AkaiProVideoI downgraded back to 2.15, connected to my inmusic account in stand alone, downloaded a fresh copy of 3.4 and updated again, connected to Ethernet and this time it activated with no issues 🙌🏽

MY MPC X just keeps spinning and says "cant connect to network" on the activations page. but i am signed into my wifi. I also signed into in Music Software Center on my mac and it says the beta is "deacrivated" and nothing can be changed.. I did use the correct email when I downloaded the installer. Any ideas what could be wrong? Also, what was the point of signing up to the BETA waiting list when its available to everyone on the akai website now?
Yeah this. The usual conversation about crashed website would be better reports than ‘bricking’ live MK1🤦🏾♂️. I won’t be forced into ‘upgrading’ my device. I’m gonna do what @DJKirkState ‘suggested’ master what I got 2.15…. I’ll catch up with y’all in a few…(months🤔🤷🏾♂️
