Yes, both the Reaper and Predator are equipped with an auto pilot. Remotely piloted aircraft (RPA pilots) were originally trained as pilots and received their wings upon graduation. However, just prior to that, near the end of Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) each individual was selected to fly a specific type of aircraft based on the needs of the Air Force at the time. For example fighters, bombers, transports, helicopters or drones and subsequently attended training for the type they were selected to fly. However, that is no longer the case. Currently those who wish to fly remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) may now elect to do so and are trained as RPA pilots from the start. In order to quality for training as a RPA pilot the following requirements must be met: - Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree - Knowledge of theory of flight, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, aircraft operating procedures and mission tactics - Completion of Air Force Undergraduate Remotely Piloted Aircraft Pilot Training - Completion of a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) - Additional requirements specific to specialty - Completion of Officer Training School (OTS), Air Force Academy (AFA) or Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) - Must have begun pilot training between the ages of 18 and 33 (Waiverable)

Not really. The pilots are just officers who chose RPA themselves and the camera operators are enlisted airmen who chose the AFSC just like any other.
