A cookie company owned by a 13-year-old entrepreneur and his mother faces serious growing pains. Cory’s mother struggles to trust anyone and is resistant to change. If Marcus Lemonis can’t get this young CEO up to speed and earn his mother’s trust, this cookie company will crumble.

The Mom may be rough around the edges but if she was truly "ghetto" like some people are saying, she wouldn't have made anything of herself and she certainly wouldn't have raised her son so well. Cory is a reflection of who she truly is, a Winner.

Lisa puts on that super tough exterior with the idea that that is what others expect from her because of her background. Yet, she has managed to get her son and company worldwide exposure, licensing deals, etc. Even Marcus mentioned the fact of them having their financial spreadsheets in order as something he rarely sees. She is much smarter than she gives herself credit for and I hope her confidence will build in time. I think she is amazing and wish her and Mr Cory's Cookies great success.

Marcus made an unusually generous offer in this episode because he believed in Lisa and Corey. Lisa sold herself short, they got a lot of things right. Their operation had a few issues, but its refreshing seeing this level of competance, preparedness, and professionalism on The Profit. I got tired of warching this show after several episodes of what felt like adult children misbehaving. Here we saw an actual child outperforming numerous business owners featured in previous episodes.

I used to feel the same way until I got into entrepreneurship and was listening to what Marcus said to do rather than the people he was helping. He explains various industries so well ,tells people what margins should be ,how to get there you name it. Wow! I am doing well now and people told me how did you get there so fast. I said watching stuff like the profit. He tells you what to do.

Much respect to Marcus Lemonis for standing up for her on the licensing. The "then, have at it" was a signal that he would have brought forward a legal team that would have been very tough for them (highly likely those 2 men would not win in court) based on how obtuse the license contract was. Those guys look really bad doing that to a relatively poor single mom...really bad.

I would have walked away from this deal. Lisa (Cory's mother) is far too emotional, getting flustered at everything and appears resistant to change. Even worse, she has a negative self-deprecating attitude to her abilities to the extant that she appears to be setting herself up for failure where she will have a wealth of excuses why she failed. Braggarts and blowhards are the opposite end of the bad business behavioral scale where they loudly boast how great they are at business but generally prove to be intransigent incompetents, but at least the braggarts are confident. Lisa keeps telling people her perceived deficiencies and assertions that she is not qualified to run a business and will likely sabotage her business relationships. That does not inspire confidence. Plus, she has a bad exclusive contract with that other cookie company who will ruin her brand with poor ingredients. And her business partner is a child who cannot work in a commercial kitchen because of child labor laws.

mom is great for supporting her son.. her son is gifted from God. no parent can create that so young...... other then supporting him- loving him- but the personality and smarts comes from God..... mom is not ghetto- she was raised with no parents- based on that she is doing very well from her starting point..... she is real

So he's gonna give them 100,000 dollars but he gets 40% and they get 60% ? Why not 15 or 20? 100,000 isn't a lot in a business. I wouldn't have taken that deal a day in my life that's just taking your business not only that but the hard work that you started to make that business possible. Now you got some guy who already makes millions calling shots in a place you put your hard earned money into.

I think its worth it considering the vast amount of mentorship and platform they will get out of this deal. I would rather get 60% of a billion than 100% of a 28k.

Umm. . .calling B.S. There are thousands of cookies on the market. Most are affordable. This is a gimmick. People are gullible and naïve.

Some of the most successful people I've met were just a bit rough around the edges. Maybe that is one of the ingredients needed to make it to the top.

A lot of people don’t get her hood attitude but 90% of the girls from the NYC/NJ urban area sound like her...the unfortunate side effect of the system that fails almost everyone. Regardless, she’s done a lot with what they gave her, which was nothing. But hopefully she can get away from that & move forward....yo.

This is awesome. These are the stories needed to be shared. This kid is amaxing, doing things adults won't, can't do. There are no words for this mother, she has raised this child and instilled things in him that she did have. And she's not leaning on excuses. If anyone deserves the gifts they've recieved its them. Beautiful. Im ordering cookies now. Oh no the website is down. Be back soon.
