Small-town guy Longfellow Deeds (SANDLER) goes to the big city to collect a $40 billion inheritance from a long lost uncle. Living in a palatial mansion with the services of an unusual personal valet (JOHN TURTURRO) isn't too bad. Things get even better when he meets a beautiful school nurse (WINONA RYDER). But money changes everything, and things aren't what they seem - his sweetie is actually a journalist feeding reports of his outrageous behavior to the press! Now, it's up to Deeds to straighten everybody out - with a few right hooks and lots of common sense.

I don't care what some people say. This is a great Adam Sandler movie. It's one of my faves to rewatch over and over again. Got a great cast of characters, and the jokes are tasteful.

Such a funny movie and some very talented actors too! Winona and Buscemi are top notch dramatic actors who can also be absurdly funny, and Sandler has some emotional depth and sincerity on top of his comedy skills. That whole "I don't even know who you are. I'm sorry." moment is pretty heart wrenching because of how well both of them play it.

Don’t underestimate Conchata Ferrell. In two and a half men as Berta she used that sharp tongue as her signature weapon, but here as Jan she showed her true power. Conchata Ferrell, may God bless her soul.
