Mr. Giant Reacts We CRASHED a Romanian wedding (it was crazy!)🇹🇩 

Sunt multe obiceiuri!!! La sate, pe vremuri, nunta dura trei zile. Se prezenta zestrea fetei , se trimiteau mesageri prin sat cu clondirul(sticla) cu țuică să invite oamenii la nuntă etc. Sunt unele amuzante, ultimul barbierit al mirelui cu toporul sau alte instrumente, așa , ca să simtă! 😂 Noaptea, la petrecere se "joacă găină"(asta e amuzantă tare), furatul miresei. La final se dansează hora femeilor, când mireasa este despodobită , iar voalul ei este dat unei domnișoare, care urmează să se căsătorească (asta e în loc de aruncat buchetul), ea primind în schimb un batic(o eșarfă de acoperit capul, semn că intră în rândul femeilor căsătorite). Mireasa aruncă de doua ori baticul , dar a treia oara îl acceptă. Tot la final e și dansul "Perinița" , care se lasă cu pupături. Eu imi aduc aminte din copilărie ziua a doua după nuntă, petrecerile între rude la "ciorba de potroace" (acră, ca să te trezească după noaptea nunții cu multă băutură), când bieții "socrii mici"(părinții miresei) erau țintă a tot felul de glume, mâzgăliți pe față, plimbați cu roaba , cu căruța 😂. Acum , poate la sate mai vezi așa ceva. La o săptămână după nuntă ,mirii sunt duși de nași la biserică să li se citească niște rugăciuni speciale de binecuvântare.

Hi again Mr. Giant ! In Romania there are many regions with different wedding traditions. The first time, the bride threw flowers with holy water ( aghiazma) at the unmarried young girls and boys. When the bride's veil was taken away, it means that she becomes a housewife from a young lady. This is from Oltenia region, south west of Romania. 🎉 Cristian

At 11:34 ....It is called "The bride's cake (Turta miresei)" witch is actually a round bread. The nanny breaks the cake above the bride's head into four pieces and makes the sign of the Holy Cross. The pieces will be distributed first to the bride and groom and then to the guests to bring good luck to the marriage that will take place. In some areas, the spiritual mother of the bride throws the pieces she has torn over her head or in the shape of a cross.

This is only the first part of a romanian wedding. It is like "the intro". After this the real party begins! If the wedding is in a city, the family rents a restaurant, or some reception room in a hotel .. and party till next day, late in the morning. If is at the country area, they usually rise a big tent, and depending on the region, the wedding party will last for 3 days! (About 20 years ago, among other things, I was a professional wedding video maker/shooter/editor and a family hired me to shoot at a wedding in a village in Oltenia region. Tree days of almost non-stop filming, 50 hours of VHS video cassette material!) .................. There are a lots of traditions at the wedding party to. Most popular is the "kidnaping of the bride" and it is sometimes orchestrated by the bide itself :) . The younger friends of the couple "kidnap" the bride, take her to a different location and then negotiate with the godfather or the groom for a ransom. The bigger the ransom, the more loved the bride is :) The negotiation is very public and the money are very real. It is the bride pride to tell the story in the years to come, about how much ransom was payed at her wedding :) Also there are always involved some bottles of whisky in the ransom price. Of course, later night, when no one looks, the money are returned .. however, the whisky is not ;) Another tradition was "the shouting of the wedding gift" (money). My grandfather was wedding master of ceremony and he loved "shouting the gift", however it is not that popular these days anymore. When was "shouting the gift" time he took a very very long cord microphone and go to the wedding guests tables with a very big bag. The guests put an envelope with money in the bag and inform him the amount inside. Then he would shout at the microphone: "De la familia Ionescu, 1000 lei! Sa traiasca la multi ani! Casa de piatra!" (From the Ionescu family, 1000 lei! may they live a long life! House of stone!") This are only a few from the many traditions in a romanian wedding. Cheers!

In Romania, there are 2 weddings. The Civil wedding, when they make papers to the town hall. They make a small party with familly and close friends. The second, religious wedding it's another day and is a big party. The young people dress up as the bride and groom. This lasts 2-3 days. Of course the bride throws the bouquet, but it was not filmed. 😂🎉❤ Respectly, Cristian

So that bread is blessed by the priest & the godmother has to reap that bread in your head to bless you etc. I don' t know in english how to explaine but every one has a piece of that bread to eat after the godmother reaps that in your head in a " cruce" mode😂❤. And the weedings last all night & all day in our country. After the church the real party starts & in the day you have from morning to evening traditions. This is an ortodox church & the priest is ortodox ❤

These are probably all old fertility rituals. Some of them must be specific to the region. But we put money also in a baby's bath water for its first bath after baptism, for good fortune and wealth. Water and bread are essential parts of many rituals, they are seen as the basis for life.

On a romanian weeding you dance & dance , eat & drink all night❤you will never be bored on a romanian weeding for sure❤

In Romanian orthodox wedding there is no "death do you part" clause. Marriage lasts forever.

La noi este o vorba veche " Vine nu are un batrana sa isi cumpere" Bunicii si strabunicii sunt legatura care tin familia sau nodul ce tine familia unita si nu inprastiata in toată lumea.Daca ai bunici cu siguranta te vei intoarce acasa sa ii revezi si sa ii vizitezi❤.Legatura cu bunicii este foarte stransa in Romania si ei participa la cresterea nepotilor sau stranepotilor dupa caz

That is bassil & you bless the ppl that are on your weeding, on the water goes young ppl that are not merried so you trow some water with the bassil & the ones that are with you on that water will be the next to marry, at least in the area that i was merried that meant the bessil & water ...i don' t know in that area if it' s the same , i quess yes❤

The bouchet yes is arowned night late night , 04:00 o clock , 05 :00 in the morning after all day & all night you party , so at the end of the party. ❤❤❤

These must be some traditions related to Oltenia/South region or even to that village. I have never heard of or seen any of them here in Transylvania. We do however have the cars honking while driving although that is more like a small town/village. No one honks in a big city with hundreds of non-wedding cars around :)

Ce ai vazut este binecuvantarea familiei prin vechii traditii pentru ca cei tineri sa aiba noroc,stabilitate.Un unele parti ale tarii se fac daruri pentru noua familie care se intemeiaza pentru a avea un inceput bun de biata.Multi parinti la nunta care sunt instariti afera o casa,altii masina de spalat sa le fie usor tinerilor casatoriti sa prospere si sa nu duca lipsa banilor si sa formeze o familie trainică si fructificata cu un Le bebel sa sporeasca numele familiei si dainuiasca cati mai multi ani
