My Mr. Heater Contractor Series Torpedo Heater would not work so I took it apart to investigate. It turned out that my fuel lines had rotted away and were no longer bring fuel to my injector. After replacing the lines I make a few minor adjustments and get it up and running again!

Yup, exact same thing I need to do. Looked at my fuel lines a bit earlier...cracked and disintegrating. Filters need a good cleaning but pretty confident I'll get it running again. Thanks for sharing, this video was a big help!

Thanks man...Living in The great white north Timmins Ontario Canada it is essential I have this thing running...it gets as cold as -50 here ...so when my house is run on boiler heat...wouldnt take long for my pipes to burst...hence the need for this 7500 btu heater...but it kacked out on me last winter and I have just been put off fixing it. So now I will replace the fuel lines;)

I agree with the filters they clog up densely and they're pretty fine material. Changing out the Internal fan with the graphite type vanes makes a huge difference as far as adjustment and air pressure. 👍🏼

I like that you didn't cut out the part where you missed the plug. It was an honest how and what the rest of us actually go through. It's odd how most of the other videos are always perfect troubleshooting fixes.. I've got a question for you, my nose cone disintegrated or something. The cone portion is still all there with all 4 mounting legs. But I just pulled a donut shaped piece of metal out from behind it that was loose. It is all warped and melted looking. It appears that it was attached to the nose cone at all four of the tabs originally. I cant find any reference to it though. It certainly didn't fall in there lol.

The purpose of the pressure gauge is to read it and adjust your pressure screw to factory specifications. Them specs are normally on a sticker ON the unit. Spray soapy water on ALL your air fittings to make sure you are ACCURATELY reading & adjusting. Teflon tape helps seal threads on fittings.

You need to adjust the air screw, so there is NO visible flame. It's the same concept applied to an oxygen/acetylene neutral flame. Also reduces fuel consumption. 😊

I have a 150000 BTU version of that heater. Mine also shuts down prematurely (about 15-20 minutes after start up). The red LEDwill start flashing. From what I have learned is that the motor has a thermal protect circuit that keeps the motor from getting to hot.( not from the fuel but just because the motor is working to hard.) I have yet to find a solution for this shut down problem. If you or anyone else has some ideas they are welcomed.

Dumb question... I noticed my eyes kinda start bothering me almost like cutting onions. It did smell too much so I put on my filtered mask on but it started being annoying so I left my garage and went inside. Is it bad/kerosene? Are there filters or ignition parts I should clean or replace?
@SwankyCatProductions
@SwankyCatProductions 5 лет назад
Same thing happened to me when I first got mine, drove me nuts! I'd guess it's not getting enough air. If you turn that air screw I showed clockwise it'll increase the air in the mixture and make the fuel burn hotter and cleaner. For some reason I have to adjust mine based on the fuel level in the tank, if its getting empty it starts to burn colder and dirty so I have to crank the air screw up. Then after I fill it up it, it shoots flames so I have to turn it back down. Hope that helps!
