Consumers across the country are turning their garages and barns into heated work spaces that can be used comfortably 12
months per year. Mr. Heater Unit Heaters use a built-in electric high-velocity fan to pull cool air into the rear of the heater
and over a heat exchanger, forcing hot air into the surrounding area. Our Unit heaters require 115 VOLT AC power and can
operate using propane (LP) or natural gas (NG). Proper venting is required and is sold separately.

Can you explain why a stainless steel ductwork is required over other galvanized? Thanks
@MrHeaterTV
@MrHeaterTV 5 лет назад
This is due to the standards and regulations regarding the venting. The venting was changed to stainless steel per certifications. Please give us a call at 1-855-663-0660 if you have any other questions and would like to speak with someone.

I'm thinking about installing this unit in my garage/woodshop. Would small amounts of sawdust be an issue with the open flames? If so, is it possible to configure the heater to draw combustion air from outside the building?
@MrHeaterTV
@MrHeaterTV 4 года назад
Thank you for your comment. Small amounts of sawdust would not be an issue. This heater has it's combustion contained in the unit, however, it does have openings on the louvers and fan motor. The heater draws combustion air from the rear of the unit and the combustion goes out of the vent.

Can we use 3/4" CSST for the unit Heaters? And unit heater input 25000BTU & output is 207500BTU. Please advice.
@MrHeaterTV
@MrHeaterTV 4 года назад
The CSST will work as long as the fittings match. The unit heaters run about 85% efficient, so if you have the 50,000 BTU, the output will be 42,500. We currently do not have a model that is 25,000. Please give us a call at 1-800-251-0001 if you have any questions!

@MrHeaterTV

Thank you for your comment. You will need to get the wire that you might need for the distance the thermostat is from the heater. You will need a thicker gauge of thermostat if you will have the thermostat on the other end of the room. Give us a call at 1-855-663-0660 if you have any questions!

@@MrHeaterTV Does it have to be at least 6' from the corner of my garage? I don't have a lot of other options since my ceiling is 8' and I need it out of the way. Why does your manual say 6 foot from where two exterior walls meet?
@MrHeaterTV
@MrHeaterTV 4 года назад
@@Brentaubrey Thank you for your comment. Local codes do have jurisdiction, so we always recommend to check with your local codes first, as it may be different. In this case, the certification states that the vent must be a minimum of 6' from an inside corner formed by two exterior walls. Should the horizontal venting slope upward or downward toward termination? There seems to be a lot of conflicting info regarding this. My Mr Heater instructions say to slope upward 1/4"/ft towards termination, but the recommended vent kit says to slope it downward.
@MrHeaterTV
@MrHeaterTV 2 года назад
Horizontal venting should have a slight upward slope. Since the exhaust from the heater is so hot, it wants to travel upwards and a downward slope could prevent the exhaust from flowing freely. Any moisture in that venting would also get immediately evaporated, so you wouldn't have to worry about that getting into the heater.

I have a Selkirk Corp section of 4" duct with drain and with 3 tabs. I don't know what the tabs are for, but the only way it fits the Mr. Heater is to bend them back and push it in. But, then the Amerivent elbow is the wrong sex to fit the Selkirk drain section. Are they not compatible with each other? Should I just crimp one to make it fit?
@MrHeaterTV

Hello! We partner with Selkirk for our vent kits, so I can't say for sure about Amerivent, but I wouldn't be surprised if the two different manufacturers don't have venting that works together. Can two thermostats be connected at the same time? Is there a way to install both the (simple/dumb) Mr Heater thermostat and a "Smart" or programmable thermostat simultaneously? So the "dumb" one would maintain a minimum 35 degree temp all the time, yet the "smart" one would warm the room to the desired temperature when programmed to or when activated.

Thank you for your comment. It is recommended for the heater to be installed in an area with a 8' clearance under the heater. Instructions on this MHU50NG Natural Gas Unit to start up are TERRIBLE!!! No where does it tell you how to access the gas valve!!! It tells you to turn the valve on and shows a picture of it but not where it is. Obviously it is not on the outside of the unit but which side, front or back are you to remove?!? In this video it does not mention that you do anything with the gas valve?!? In the manual it does not mention anything about the circuit board and the green LED?!? Hopefully this is a good unit but right out of the box it would appear maybe not. Maybe I am blind in one eye and cannot see out the other but I cannot make sense of it.
