I use their gel highlighters extensively, and yeah, they do “cake” a bit, but I’ve tried other brands of gel highlighters that seem to be much worse. Of course, now I’m impressed with chisel tip highlighters that you’ve demonstrated here, and I might have to try those out too!

I use the original gel highlighters the bright color ones they don't cake, but the pastels do cake.

With the gel highlighters, lay down one line - go back over it if necessary - then take a finger and lightly rub. It smooths out the gummy sections and if you go back the next day - you'll see no gumminess at all.

Thanks for the review. I prefer artists colored pencils to highlight my bibles. More control, smooth and no bleed through. But I am impressed with the range of options of those highlighters.

I have found colored pencils to be my favorite Bible study highlighter because they don't cost much, and are easy to find. Mr. Pen does have nice mechanical pencil refills at the BEST price! I use the mechanical pencils for my Bible journaling, writing, and overall household use (homeschooling family that goes through pencils like CRAZY!). Mr. Pen is a great company....IF ONLY>>> they'd make colored pencil refill pens!!! I got a red Bible highlighter pencil about 20 years ago...with a few refills. Used it up, and couldn't find replacements. Thank you!

I love Mr Pen gel highlighters. The gel does dry to a smooth finish. Some of the pastel colors, however, barely show up, so I tend to pick colors out of each pack that I like. I have not tried the chisel highlighters, but I might have to. They have a black fine liner that works great as well and doesn’t bleed through, but I’ll give their ballpoint pens a try as well. Their prices are decent and they do have a great return policy. They also have translucent sticky tabs and pads that I write on to put notes in my Bibles.

Mr Pen has really great products. Even if they don't work on my tester page, I use them in books for reminds.

My only complaint is I wish they sold their products in stores we older people who don’t order on line would love their products! Id have to ask someone to order for me
