By the way, this episode explains the flashback at the cinema, when his father collapses and Elliot doesn't give a shit about it. It also explains the first scene in the pilot, when he's hunting a pedophile network, and Elliot's dislike for physical contact (hugging, touching his shoulder).

This episode was such a "They actually went there" moment for me. Because the thing that bugged me about Elliot's DID was he didn't seem to have any childhood trauma that would warrant his memories splitting the way they did. To actually develop another personality there needs to be serious damage to a child's psyche that they just can't handle it, and I always felt it was a bit of a copout that he just had it and was so mentally ill 'just because'. Especially when you consider how Darlene, in spite of all her issues, seems much more well-adjusted than him despite having the same parents.

One of the best episodes in TV history, no question about it. It's a freaking gut punch that leaves you on the floor for many hours, but what a masterpiece!!! Don't quit this show, I beg you!!! The best is about to start!!!!

When you realize why he's uncomfortable with people touching him 😢😢 Also, I loved how they treated this episode like a play. Respecting the 360 degree rule, the small setting. Even with the ending with lights going out.

whiterose is a transgender woman by the way, she only passes as a man for her position of power like we saw in the flashback, whiterose is considered her true identity (: love her character it's so complex (like the rest of this show)

Also, the fact that you're practically mimicking how Elliot feels at the end of this episode. How you feel is exactly how done he is with this journey, makes it all the more amazing.

Season 4 is a roller coaster of emotions... And there's more ups and downs in this Season. I was shocked as you were when I watched this episode, but, yet, after watching the whole Series *I wanted to watch it again for better point-of-view, analysis and conclusions*... You'll know what I'm talking about ;). This is the best show ever.

Oh yes the episode everyone will remember... One of if not the best one in TV history. I'd recommend for watching the series from the start when you're finished the last episode tho, I think you you'd like to see the whole thing again. Because the point of view/how I see every scene changes so drastically the first and second time for me

You may not watch the show ever again, but it WILL stay with you. At least it did with me, literally years after finishing it and it still pops into my mind every now and again.

I had the same reaction watching it as a civilian. By the time it was over it was like the death of a marriage - it affected my life and I hated what I felt why also appreciating it. Confusing, hard, brilliant, and impactful.

In case, you will ever reconsider your stance on the topic of "never watching shows like Mr. Robot", I would recommend Bojack Horseman on Netflix. First episode is kind of meh, but the rest of the show is 8/10, 9/10 and mostly 10/10. It has some of the most real and impactful episodes I've ever seen. And unlike Mr. Robot it is a comedy, so there is a lot of comedic relief alongside the hard realities of life.
