Umm his class hounded him to do britney spears though. And sorry how else is someone supposed to interpret Toxic? It's meant to be a sexualized song. Maybe the song choice could have been different. But Schuester didn't actually want to even have a Britaney week.
Kyle Englot I definitely see your point. However, tone makes a big difference. By singing a song a certain way, you can make an upbeat song into a very depressing one. This is what could have been here. The kids could have sung it in a way to make it feel more romantic and less sensual. And whether this was a viable option or not, I don’t believe Mr. Shue should have participated in the dancing. Not only was it inappropriate, but I think it was also a little selfish of him. He did it for personal reasons, like impressing Emma, even though she is with somebody else, and to irritate Sue. The kids also didn’t want to dance with him.
Dunno if you guys cares but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new movies on instaflixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last couple of days =)
Exandah I don’t totally remember because it’s been a while but one of the members is a trans female who was being harassed about the bathroom she used. Mr.Shue wanted to twerk with his students so Sue said that if he didn’t she would give the student a key to the staff bathroom. Mr.Shue decided twerking with his students was more important. (I hope this makes sense)
Ilay H Most 17 year olds don’t even know what to do with their life. As a teacher, you aren’t supposed to lash out at them but guide them to think consciously and be who they are.
Netochukwu I‘m an 18-year-old girl in school so I totally get what you mean and I didn’t mean to imply that 17-year-olds have it all figured out or GOD FORBID that what the teacher did was appropriate lol. But I just think it’s really silly how people (especially in the US) think of 17-year-olds as little girls and boys because at 17 you’re simply not. But apparently for many people, as soon as you hit 18 you’re magically not so little anymore and an adult and it doesn’t make any sense honestly. High school age is definitely not “little kids” and I will probably still think so when I’m old because even though people our age have maturing to do (everyone does at any age anyway) it’s just sooo ridiculous how people think of us (or people at least one year younger than me) as 10-year-olds or sth...At best she’s a “grown” girl, definitely not little.
Mr. Schue: silly Rachel you can’t send a 16 year old to a crackhouse, such prankster no biggie, just don’t do that again you dope Also Mr. Schue: What’s that Marley? You don’t feel comfortable wearing a seashell bikini, in front of me? A Middle Aged Man? Not to mention you’re still recovering from an ed, and aren’t comfortable with your body? Unacceptable you are suspended from glee club
Right? His priorities are so screwed up. Not to mention finn and puck were getting into fistfights literally every day and got no punishment ever. But Santana slapped finn for outing her in front of everyone and she was suspended until finn told figgins it was a stage slap
mr shue sucked soo much in that episode I mean come on he wanted to win more than he cared about a student's recovery from an ed!!! I MEAN BRUHH SOMEONE FIRE HIM ALREADY and the fact he became principal is just UNACCEPTABLE
Beside how bad it is to frame a student to force him to join a club, Will did it because he couldn't imagine the male lead being a disabled man or a gay man. Kurt and Artie were super talented, but the lead HAD to be the typical athletic white straight man.
i've always found his voice to be super average compared to the rest of the cast. i heard that he got voice lessons to help improve his singing because he didn't sing in his audition video
I mean, I get needing another male lead bc Artie and Kurt were GREAT singers but, imo, they weren’t as vocally strong as they should be. But Finn wasn’t either
Artie definitely deserved to be lead. He and one of the best male vocals on the show and not to compare the two of them in a negative way Artie was better vocally. I don’t get why Rachel had such a big problem with Artie being the lead. Was it because he was in a wheelchair? Ableist much...
The fact that he is a Spanish teacher and doesn’t even know Spanish, like, why would you even give him the job in the first place and why would he take it 💀😭
Who wants to go to college for Four to Six years and then only be paid 30-50 K in yearly salary (most being at the low end if you don't have tenure) So the reason a person who wants to teach is snatched up not knowing the subjects they are hired for is that they are willing to work at that low of pay and they are likely one of the few persons who applied. This would seem even more likely in a small town
You are only seeing it like that because of the moment you been through some time ago, cause he clearly meant to say it like:"his darkest moment". Stop searching racism in every fucking thing
@@levydexxx I'm not searching for any racism. The wording was off and I felt I needed to point it out. I'm aware the show intended to say it was his 'darkest' moment but it came out wrong and that's all I'm trying to say.
When he's lecturing Quinn about playing the victim card-- she may need someone to be honest with her, but she's also clearly struggling after her pregnancy and is asking for help
Also he‘s the one who‘s playing the victim card ALL THE TIME, for example when Santana asked him why he even is a Spanish teacher and said real facts, he just answered with 'that‘s not fair‘, like he’d ever be fair or a good teacher
But the thing is, at that particular moment, she wasn't asking for help, she was pushing people away, blaming them for what happened to her, and even if some people played a part in her struggles, Schue clearly didn't, he was there for her and supportive. Plus he was standing up to her for everyone else in the glee club that helped her during and after her pregnancy but that she was shitting on, by helping Sue destroy the club
I wouldn’t know tbh because I’ve not seen that episode and fortunately don’t have to do active school shooter drills. I’m so sorry for everyone that does
He's stood by many a time and watched them get slushies thrown on them or heard about it, and not done anything to punish the students that did it, so I can see why.
@@lindiwengwevela524 yeah but they do that in a lot of shows bojack horseman has a similar scene when the woman trying to make a baby and that show super recent
What about when she set hounds out to attack students, assaulted students, kept a room dedicated to the relationship to 2 of her former students, and another room dedicated to her enemies?
I also hate that one scene in Katy vs. Gaga where he criticizes Marley for not wearing a bikini when she has insecurities in her body and it's still not okay even if she didn't have insecurities. For real, that makes me so mad. Not only is it inappropriate it is putting across the concept that it isn't okay to be yourself and such.
@@emlb7941 dude she was STILL getting over an eating disorder. do you REALLY expect her to be comfortable wearing close to nothing? it doesnt have to do with being a bad performer.. they shouldn't have banned her for a week because she wasn't comfortable wearing a revealing outfit.
also! the outfits they wear to competitions are dresses for the girls. they aren't revealing. dresses are a sea shell bra. she's worn dresses before & was comfortable with them still after her eating disorder..
@@harmonysaavedra8409 No, she is a teenager. And he did not ask her to wear a bikini, nor did he suspend her for that, but for not wearing a Lady Gaga costume.
eeema eeema ok but the girl had an eating disorder because she didn’t like who she was. is it really that healthy to ask her to be someone else while she’s trying to recover? Like one thing at a time she had a lot to deal with. Part of her recovery was learning to be comfortable with herself and her teacher essentially said no don’t do that this week and then suspended her for his own bad teaching practises. I agree she could have worn a more modest costume but surely you see why the writers were like no we need to give this girl a moment to embrace herself cause she’s having a hard time and can’t just bend at will to her creepy teacher man
“You’re all minority’s because you are in the glee club” okay as a minority myself I was shaking with anger when he said that even though this is a FICTIONAL SHOW
ok I was just pissed at a majority of their depictions of the gay community because apparently they think that gay men are either feminine, stupid, or bullying asshole who later leave the closet and think that bisexuals cant be in a committed relationship without it being problamatic and that bisexuals aren't real gay people this show is a damn joke that pretends to properly address these issues by getting straight people to play members of the gay community
yeah isn’t she a really awesome mom? like she throws her kids awesome birthday parties and takes tutoring sessions so she can help them with her homework, and went to parenting classes so she could raise them better than she was raised. I heard about this through various internet things so it might not be totally accurate but she doesn’t seem that bad
@@elizakohl8922 Oh no, this is all true. The horrible thing is that she's still under conservatorship under her father, and all ever since her breakdown in 2007. She has no freedom in her life at all, she can't even make the music she wants to make or use her real singing voice (it's actually deeper and closer to Christina Aguilera's in quality, but they made her sing with the higher baby-voice to sell an image), even while having demonstrated that she has recovered more or less completely. Britney is such a strong person, and she really needs better support and autonomy in her own life.
I think a lot of singers are kind of entitled to a breakdown. I mean, they have so much pressure, with the media digging into their private lives, pressure to release new songs, not getting to be who they are. With all that piling up, you can kinda understand why they turn to drugs or, in Britney's case, breakdown.
The only time our school ever searched lockers was when there was a rumor that a kid brought a gun to school. No weapons were found but they did find a lot of drugs
remember in the justin bieber episode when mr schue took sue to the children's hospital to sing with them and make them happy and warm my heart and then LITERALLY THE NEXT EPISODE he goes drinking with beiste and the scene at 10:26 occurs??? how can one character give me that many mixed feelings???
I love how Rachel not only the actress but also her character are so important to everyone that will just protects her. She’s really spoiled. OH NO GLITTER WILL GR TON ME.
Everyone thought there were terrorists at school, what did you expect Mr. Shue to do? He had to be cautious, he didn't know that Brittany was there, so he didn't do it on purpose. Don't be so unfair.
The issue at the time was that everyone was scared to death, not just Brittany. Even the glee club made a farewell video for their parents in case something happened to them.
1:18 I - W I L L I A M Also, I'd like to add when everyone was getting mad at Marley for collapsing during a competition and he did nothing about it?? I understand that it's upsetting to lose, but she had a legitimate problem and was getting treated horribly by almost all of the gLeE club. Maybe it was just me who was upset about it. When he yelled at Blaine, Sam, and Unique in that one episode...
Not to mention that time he shamed the poor girl for not wanting to wear a bra on stage. Thats bad enough but she literally had an ed at the time as well.
Orla MacGrath I thought he was shaming her because she dressed as Katy Perry instead of Lady Gaga because “I don’t want to change who I am” even though that was literally the theme of the week? edit: just rewatched that scene. They are mad at her for not wearing the bikini cause it was her Gaga costume and she chose to make a Katy dress. She could’ve made a new Gaga outfit, but instead went with Katy. Marley was suspended for not following the theme of the week/rules so close to the competition, not because she didn’t want to wear a bikini. They only mentioned the bikini because they expected her to wear it, not because they are mad she wanted a less revealing costume. If she made a modest Gaga costume than they wouldn’t have yelled at her
@@Kiwi-dl3sr I'm actually been thinking of rewatching it again just for Quinn and Brittana and the sweet Faberry moments💕 I don't mind Klaine but I wish we saw more of Brittana :(
if he had gone through with being rocky he would’ve had to sing toucha touch me with janet, who was being played by rachel, who not only had a crush on him the season before, but was also VERY MUCH UNDERAGE.
He was a horrible spanish teacher and he left in the middle of class to have sex in an unlocked school closet and he never took any of the kids ideas it was all about him he yells at his students in the worst ways and i have never seen him once ever teach them any actual vocal lessons and he suspends people for the weirdest things, like marley having an eating disorder or santana slapping finn cause he outed her while finn beat up puck in season one and rachel sent someone to a crackhouse and nothing was done. Oh and dont forget when he denied a student her right to safely use the bathroom cause he wanted to twerk with minors or when he literally stopped doing his job to form a boy band with two of his students, and framed a kid for drug usage after wrongfully walking into the student showers like someone call the cops...none of this makes him a bad teacher to you and keep in mind this is just off the top of my head
Jade Torres well yes, as I said, he need to put limits. A lot, or just limits in general since he just doesn’t have any. And he must prepare better his classes ( spanish) and yes everything else. But he has some good moments too.
People in the comments are saying how Mr Shue was right when he told Quinn to grow up because she was playing the victim and being childish. While I agree that she needed to snap out of it, he was too harsh on her. People need to remember that she was pushing people away and blaming others because she was upset, stressed, angry and confused. She needed help but didn't want to ask for it or open herself up to others. She wasn't acting selfish or immature, she was acting like someone who was feeling very emotionally vulnerable and needed guidance. Yelling at her and telling her to grow up was not the best way to handle the situation, and a good teacher would have been more understanding. Mr Shue should have tried to get Quinn to open up and talk about her feelings rather than shouted at her and blamed her. She had gone through quite a few stressful and upsetting situations, and was ultimately still a child who needed emotional support.
I think two very important signs that mr schue was a questionable teacher when he sang *t o x i c* with his S T U D E N T S. The second sign being when sue sends the glitter bombs he quickly grabbed Rachel. MR SHOE WHY
That scene when he finds out that Terry is not pregnant always make me uncomfortable when I watch it. I always think that he's going to hit her and it makes me feel bad for Terry when I know that she's a bad person but then I look mr. Schue and I always think is he butted hit his wife it just makes me uncomfortable
To be fair the episode Rachel liked him he was very uncomfortable. With the other episodes she was being creepy but she didn’t want Rachel to like him in that episode.
I remember in like the first episode I think, after Mr. Shue did the whole drug blackmail thing, there was like a quick zoom on a poster that said “safety is our number one priority” or something similar, and that’s the subtle humor that I love about the show
It was revenge from sue in season 6 but it wasn’t his fault I liked how he reacted to it. Not everything in this was meant to be hateful to the character
Here's a few off the top of my head: 1) In the pilot, he spied on Finn Hudson while he was showering and planted weed in his backpack to blackmail him into joining glee club. 2) He never intervened whenever the students in glee club were bullied (eg. whenever Rachel or any of them got slushied, when he told them to push through, etc.) 3) He chose to sing provocative songs in front of minors (eg. singing "Blurred Lines", a song about date rape, in front of students while they twerked to the song without knowing what it was about). 4) When he flirted with Shelby Corcoran, April Rhodes, Sue Sylvester, and Holly Holliday (and cheated on Emma Pillsbury and the way that he exposed his wife Terri faking her pregnancy reflecting a borderline domestically abusive husband). 5) When he sent Kurt Hummel to Principal Figgins's office for standing up to him. 6) His poor way of getting Rachel Berry to fall out of love with him by singing a song about a teacher falling in love with a student. 7) Inviting the glee kids to his house for no apparent reason and sharing intimate stories about his personal life with them. 8) Dressing up in stereotypical mariachi band outfits and singing "La Cucaracha" in front of Santana Lopez and revealing that, in spite of teaching the subject did not speak one word of the language. 9) Punishing Mercedes Jones when her ankle hurt by telling her to push through it and kicking her out of glee club and not consoling Tina Cohen-Chang when she was humiliated. 10) Treating Rachel Berry as the golden girl and the other glee kids like Christmas ornaments. 11) Eloping with Emma Pillsbury in the teacher's bathroom and scarring poor Becky Jackson for life. 12) Suspending Marley Rose for a week for refusing to wear a bikini (even though she was recovering from an eating disorder and she didn't go along with the assignment and it was Sam Evans who forced her to, but he should've intervened and told Sam that it was not appropriate for him to force someone not comfortable with wearing such a provocative outfit to perform). 13) When he taunted Sue by telling her Wednesday was "hump day" in a creepy manner and when he touched her without her consent (the "THAT IS A LAWSUIT, MISTER!" incident) and when he threw a tantrum in her office. 14) When he refused to assist Unique in getting bathroom privileges from Sue on the basis that he allow his students to keep twerking. 15) The fact that he has no adult friends besides his wife and the substitute teachers and their parents. 16) The faces that he makes whenever the girls in glee club do questionable dance moves (for god's sake, stop staring at them, they're teenagers for crying out loud!!!). 17) Asking Finn to be his best man (keep in mind that he specifically moved his OWN WEDDING DATE so that his students would come) and singing at Carol Hudson and Burt Hummel's wedding (what business did he have at his students' parents' wedding?). 18) His insensitivity to Quinn Fabray who was dealing with some serious stuff after being forced to legally give up her child with Noah Puckerman which he resolves by harshly telling her to "grow up" (I mean, yes, she was not acting appropriately, but the least he could do was ask if she was alright or recommend someone for her even if she wouldn't listen). 19) That whole mess with the Rocky Horror Show and him using it as an excuse to flirt with a (married) Emma Pillsbury while semi-nude. 20) Will Schuester rapping the "Thong Song" to Emma while she was about to marry Ken Tanaka will forever haunt my nightmares. In fact, ANY TIME that he raps. 21) Him touching his students while they were rapping "Gold Digger", which was already a questionable song choice. 22) Him letting April Rhodes near the glee kids even though she got Kurt drunk and made them do questionable things. 23) Him singing "Toxic" with MINORS in FRONT OF ALL OF MCKINLEY HIGH!!!! 24) Him never crediting or acknowledging the band or Brad the Piano Player. 25) When he refused to directly take action despite Karofsky threatening the well-being of Kurt, forcing Sue to intervene. 26) Remember when Marley fainted at Sectionals and he was more interested in them winning than her well-being? 27) How can he afford to pull off all those lavish performances with those costumes and sets and all? Where does that money come from? I want answers!!! 28) Any time he rejects song choices from the students in favor of "Journey" songs. 29) Sure, Rachel can storm out and still be in glee club like everything is normal but when anyone else does it, they get kicked out for "being a bad sport"??? 30) Let's not forget when he let the Golden Girl off the hook for sending poor Sunshine Corazon to a crackhouse instead of rehearsals for glee club. 31) Doing nothing whenever the glee kids disrupt classes, study breaks in the library, in the gymnasium, and lunchtime in the cafeteria, all while breaking into musical numbers. 32) Encouraging bullying on the insistence that it will make them better performers rather than taking action. 33) Who can forget, "You're all minorities, you're in the Glee Club"? How was that supposed to make them feel better about themselves? 34) When Finn died (RIP Cory Monteith), he stole his jacket and blamed Puck for it!! 35) Throw this man in jail already!!!
I love how sue just runs off when the lady mentions a car on fire and how she's so truthful and relatable. Sue: i'm disturbed on every level Me: Girl, same!!!!
