Mr Tuffy states that they are not intended for tires under 25PSI so they are useless on Fat Tires. Fat tires typically use a lower PSI than that. Do you make Mr. Tuffy for mopeds, motorcycles or cars? We’ve tried .. and failed. Mr. Tuffy liner needs a certain amount of air pressure against it to keep it in place. In a test in a 25 psi moped tire, the moped size liner worked it’s way around to the rim side and actually cut off the valve stem ... not exactly the result we were hoping for.
Hi i have super 73 clone 20 .4 tires and they went flat fro. Goat head and a push pin same day though i think the tech may have done it to nake more money because i went in with one flat tire. What can i do to protect the tires from thorn and what not
after research I've done the rim is exactly the same on all super 73's including the Rx model which I have I am currently downsizing my tire from the original 4.5 to 5.0 with the 4.0 tires
Thanks for this video. I used it for my install. Question: I have 20x4.25 tube and tires and I installed the Mr tuffy 26/29 (4.1-5) like the one you have. Like you I also overlapped the excess and did not cut it. I also put in Stan's No tube inside the tube. The rear wheel was a pain to inflate correctly with the tube going everywhere and the tire bead not seating correctly. When I freewheel the rear wheel by lifting the bike, I can see that it's a bit unbalanced (wobble). I can feel it slightly at speed on the bike too. I'm thinking the overlap is creating this. I may go back and cut it. What's your experience with this? Thank you
Hey! Glad to hear it all fit in there...it can be tricky and takes many changes to work out all the issues and to make changing tubes easy and efficient. Even with the overlap we've never had wobble at high speeds. It could be though that when you put it all in there there could be a wrinkle and this could cause a "bump" with each rotation. We have no experience with Stan's No Tube so won't be able to comment. Ride safe and let us know how things turn out!
@@urbancargobikes4930 Thanks for helping. I went back and flipped the bike upside down, deflated the tire and slowly massaged the bead back in after every 5 pumps. I was able to decrease the wobble in the end. It's still there but barely noticeable. Rear hub motors suck lol.
I am looking to do this on my two fat tire bike’s could you tell me exactly what size they are because I have 20 x 4 tires also and I want to purchase the right size tuffy linner . But there are a few options on Amazon under fat tire tiffy liner .
I can't tell you exactly how much but I believe we have the same wheels so they should fit just fine. These were cut for a 26" fat wheel so they go around the 20" fat wheel nearly twice. In a few weeks when we change out our winter ties for summer tires I will measure them and tell you exactly. By the way, 20" x 4" far tires that are typically found on mini fat bikes like Juiced, Super73, and Phattycycles are not actually 20" but closer to 16"/17".
I installed the 2XL 26” lime mr tuffys on my 20” fat tire e bike before my bike wasn’t bouncing or shaking now after installing it is. Is that normal are mr tuffys suppose to run smooth or does it add a little shake to the wheels?
How much overlap on the liner did you leave? Did you cut off the excess? I've found that excess liner overlapping weighs the tire down one side and will create wobble at speeds.
I just added tuffys to my fat tire bike. I did an overlap of about a foot and it’s making it out of balance and it feels like it s going to come out from under me.
I just switch out the oem knobby tires to kenda semi slicks from monsterscooters.com 30 bucks each. Treads are similar to performance motorcycle tires w lot of rubber. I run few ounces of green slime in each tire.
Hey Josh, I will be getting my Super73 S2 in 3 weeks and install the tuffy liners to avoid punctures... Thanks for the video. If you want to go ride sometime, just let me know! I’m located in the plateau 👌🏻🤙🏻
