High praise from the master himself!😁 Thanks for checking us out😉 There is indeed a casting code by the starter K136. I need to blast the serial number area on the block to get a better read on that, and I may have had bad info when I decoded it.. The hydraulic pump is cast with a November 46 date. I'm thinking the tractor is a 46 or possibly a very early 47 2N. Also worth mentioning the head is bolted instead of studded. Not sure when the change was made. Didn't think it was until the 8N's. It's surely possible it could have been changed by a previous owner, but most guys wouldn't do it unless they were super dedicated. My experience is the studs tend to break when you try to remove them 😬

@Mr. Vintage Restoration K = November so your engine is definitely a 2N and was casted in November and so was your pump so it's safe to say nothing major has been changed. Generally from what I studied when a block was casted it would probably be a couple weeks before it would get put into a tractor so I'm pretty sure it's a 1946. I hope you can read the number real good because I have a 46 2N as well with a K or Nov. Code. Who knows they could of went down the line together. You are correct head bolts were not used until they late 8Ns. Someone changed them.

@Mr. Vintage Restoration That's great you can read it! My 1946 is number 9N251954 so that's like 2,173 apart.

@@Jason1Pa they practically could have been in the holding lot at Highland Park together at the same time 😲 Not sure how many they let pile up before they loaded them on the train to go to dealers.
