Hey Danny. I like your theory of a clean car has a better chance of passing inspection than a dirty one. Good luck with the Volvo and its (ratalytic?😋) converter passing MOTs this week. I'm sure it'll do fine. Also, glad the phone survived.😓 As for the MR2, I know you've contemplated selling it in the past, but I'm glad you've kept it. It's a special little car and I'm looking forward to seeing you unleash its fullest on track. I know you hated to put a wing on the MR2, on principle alone (especially with all these judgy bastards looking on), but hopefully it'll give the car the extra stability it needs to prevent a high-speed disaster. Looks-wise, the current setup is damn good. The stance is right and those wheels really suit the car.👌 Alright, I'll see you on the next. Have a great afternoon, mate.
The rear stepping out in one of those corners could get hairy... would not recommend, especially in an short wheelbase mid engine car like the mr2 I like this style of videos, they are quite relaxing hahaha PS: Was the phone ok? :O
After watching your footage of this thing getting all lairy on UK tracks I thought the wing might be coming! Can hardly wait to see the 'ring run coming up soon.
hell yes! becuase of you i bought myself an MR-S and built it on my channel! love from here in the states. keep it up and please susbcribe to anyone who sees this comment!
Sometimes you have to go for function over looks. I don't like the way the wing looks in the MR2 either but hey, if it works, it works. If that extra downforce really makes a difference in stability it will be welcome
Pretty cool channel!!! Can not wait to see in car video of the mr2. Get a rear diffuser and a front lip to lessen the air gap. Less air under the car , the less lift of the back you will have. Are you going to corner ballance the car?
I've got a wingless MR2 Spyder with a good amount of suspension work and go to the Ring pretty regularly. I'm not as fast as you, but it doesn't feel unstable going through the sections you mentioned.
Yes Danny. Thanks for making simple content that's always interesting to watch. Cuts through the RU-vid clickbait bullshit nicely. Can't say I'm a fan of the wing, but if it works... Looking forward to the next vid! #MakeMR2sSub8
That wing will definitely help you get round those fast corners safely, unfortunately that's only because you'll be going round them 10mph slower because of the extra drag....lol
Unless you have heaps of money a 2JZ swap is pretty out of reach for an average petrolhead. Especially with three project cars on the go. But even if money was no object I doubt a twin turbo straight 6 would have a chance in hell of stuffing in that engine bay. Totally unrealistic... Stick with a good old 4 cyl K swap. Less weight, good power, reliable, less bank breaking idea 👍🏻
I think that selling the MR2 and putting that money into the M3 would be the best if you want a serious track car. I know you've said in the past that the M3 is "too clean" to mod, and that crashing it would be insanely expensive, but it's such a better car. You'd get much more enjoyment from it by modding it to a super street spec and putting it on tracks, than for the weekend driving and odd track sessions you used to use it for. Also I think the MR2 is plain ugly, can't help it, I think it's the headlights.
I feel the exact opposite. There are already so many e46 content creators on youtube who track their cars. I love the e46 but the Spyder is a much more exciting car to watch in my opinion. The way the car tends to have the tail out makes for a really exciting drive. I think the e46 and mr2 are very different cars to drive but I don't know if id consider the m3 to better with it weighing 1000 pounds more than the mr2.
