Well, as an introductory video this a good one. Having said that, mRNA processing is assumed to be a co-transcriptional process, which means that splicing (for instance) occurs during transcription. This video suggests that only AFTER transcription the splicing takes place, which is not the current view....

splicing does not occur for the direct purpose of mature mRNA being able to leave the nucleus in eukaryotes. The reasons introns exist is so that cells can take advantage of an exponential number of mRNA codon combinations, allowing you to be able create a greater number of polypeptides then your genes directly code for. That is why it occurs in higher organisms and not in prokaryotes.
