Wow, I can't believe my eyes right now. Finally, a very rare and very clear footage of the MRT-3 taken during its construction and testing stage. As a railfan who's an avid fan of the MRT-3, this really made my day, Sir! Thank you very much for sharing this to us! Please upload more MRT-3 vids if there are any left:)
Thank you for your nice comment, it lights up my mind. Last December the 15th was 20th anniversary of MRT3 passenger’s service, so I released this video such as flashback of the grant project. If some more videos left - I am afraid, that what was left is not so relevant to the project. It is mostly about my friends and colleagues. Good luck!! Milos
@@milosdvorak5628 You're very welcome. You deserve that simple token of appreciation:) Indeed. MRT-3 has recently turned 20, and sadly, the system has started to deteriorate rapidly back in 2012, whereas the Philippine Transportation Department kicked out the companies who designed, built, and maintained the MRT namely Sumitomo, MHI, and TESP as the line's maintenance provider. But fortunately, those 3 companies had managed to become MRT-3's caretaker once again (for a little while) today, thanks to the MRT-3 Rehabilitation Project funded by the Japanese government that aims (hopefully) to restore the system back to its original condition when it first started to operate back in 1999. Even though MRT-3 is at the moment undergoing rehab, the system's good glory times during its early years of operations couldn't be brought back anymore today. How I wish we could rewind the time. **sighs**
@@philippineassociationofrai8305 Regards to all members of Philippine Association of Railway Enthusiasts! Thank you for your E-mail and short Flash back of last 20 years of MRT3. I have spent more than 4 years with MRT3 project, so it is really deep in my memory. Mostly as a technical support to TESP after vehicle warranty period. This my mission was terminated at end of 2002. Then my last visit on Philippines was at April 2012. Now I am going to offer you a video of special railways from my country. It is the cog railway in the North part of Czech Republic. You can find it at: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WVbkLW11_HI.html Detail information on: www.zubacka.cz/ Best regards Miloš Dvořák
@@milosdvorak5628 Recently, the MRT-3 has a new signalling system installed, and for the first time, the ČKD Tatra RT8D5M had been tested with four car formation...that testing of the latter was happened in March 9, 2022...
There are so many gems in this video! Old SM North before the Sky Garden (built in 2008-09) Non existent TriNoma (opened in 2007) Cubao Intersection with LRT 2 construction (opened in 2003) Old facade of Robinsons Galleria and SM Megamall Non existent developments along Boni-Pioneer area Large military field before Bonifacio Global City construction boom happened 20 years ago was really different from what we do have now. Curious what will happen in the next 20 years
In the next 20 Years Manila will be Decongested and Other Cities in the Philippines like Cebu and Davao or Other will be a Urban areas, Also Philippines will be Like Singapore 20 Years from now.
Very interesting video, it seems like Ph treasured it so much that it was still in use until this time but I guess you should go & have a look/ride for the last time perhaps it will be replaced sooner because development infrastructures are ongoing everywhere
Thank you for this video wow it feels like a time machine a lot of thing have changed. When things got better visit Philippines and make a comparison video sort of then and now anyway have a great day love from ph!
@@JoshuaRail3070 It was but then changed to Blue for no good reason, not sure why they had to change line colors when it was perfectly fine. Now we have confusing and inconsistent railway colors since the trains remained the original livery and they never updated it despite having some trains already been restored. It is so inconsistent now and waste of money that it should have not changed in the first place. Instead that money should have just gone through through modernization and part of rehab, repainting the original livery. The new livery of Line 2 is very tacky unlike its original station interior that feels like an airport when it was new. Still the most modern station that the Philippines have. May get surpassed by new NSCR and Line 9 Subway. Line 7 station design doesn't look good either based on public renders have been officially released. Gladly that these original Line 3 trains are being restored to its original performance. They just need to renovate the stations, they haven't been repainted for years.
I hope they will just have a proper and straightforward name. Unified Grand Central Station name is tacky and doesn't tell what location it is, and is not really deserving to be grand central name, considering we may have bigger and better interchange station in the near future.
Dear All. Thank you for positive comments. I am nicely surprised; my video is more popular than I have expected. For me it is a nice memory and with your reactions this memory become stronger. I hope, the Covid19 epidemic will be over soon and I can visit Philippines again. Thank you again and Maligayang bagong Taon Miloš
MRT-3's Tatra Trains (aren't) second hand. It looked just like it because of the dust that had accumulated from the time they were being shipped from Czech Republic, until they were stored along the completed guideway in the vicinity of Santolan-Annapolis Station, exposing them from various environmental factors (rain, pollution from the vehicles along EDSA, etc.)
Nope, it is not. It just a dust during the construction. This is typical during construction phase and when they do the testing. Not to mention they were first parked along the mainline while the depot is still unfinished.
