Best felling saw I ever used was an 064 stihl. That saw would really pull the chips.

Have you dynoed a stock 3120xp? Factory specs show it at like .3 horse less than the 880/881 but I wondered how it played out real world and dyno Also, nice videos. Really cool stuff

The couple I have had on my dyno have been 8-8.5. They would show better power with more rpm. The 9800 coil really hurts them

The new 3120 is tested was 8.3 ish. Never had a chance to see a 125 yet...

The 064 was really strong. That 881 is a beast out of the box. Have you dynoed a ported MS462?

@@dynojoemods2764 Cool, I'll be waiting for the video. I'm thinking a ported 462 maybe the ultimate firewood saw. I got a cpi pipe for my 660 after watching your video. The power insane. 5 seconds through 15" dry oak with an off the roll chain.

@@dynojoemods2764 Isn't the 462 just slightly heavier than the 400? I love my 462. It is probably my favorite saw, well really like the piped 660 but the pipe creates some limitations.

@@TractorTech I dont believe the weight difference is huge. I don't think I would sell a 462 to get a 400, but if just buying 1 that would be a tough one.. The pipes are a blast, but can be cumbersome.

Yeh, the big ones have such a short rpm range it is hard to have a super flat curve. After porting it should flatten a bit. They just have so much extra power it feels like they don't ever run out vs the smaller saws.

Interesting 125cc motocross moters make a lot more hp but i guess the pipe and power valve helps a lot .

Pipe, power valve, port area, liquid cooling, ignition, carb, weight. These are "industrial " engines light as possible, work in all conditions. They are supposed to meet emissions for 300 hours minimum before needing overhaul. Most motocross bikes want a top end every 40 hours or less. I would guess some of the piped race saws can come close to the motocross power output. For short bursts.

That's a very interesting test! Doesn't the speed, which is regulated there by probably increased braking power, affect the entire test? But I'll probably have to borrow all the saws to get an idea. Greetings from Germany

I keep all the pulls in the same time/window. 8-10 second pulls keeps everything very repeatable.

It was brand new out of the box. Another few tanks it will be fully broke in and likely make even more power.

That had machine work, exhaust, intake, upper and lower transfer port work.

That is how the dyno measures the power output at a certain rpm. Have to load the saw down to the rpm you want to test. I like to show 5000rpm all the way up to max rpm for each saw and graph. That is why each saw is pulled down so far in rpm.
