I think one change that would help the whole feeling of missing a Captain Marvel 2 is to have the scene of Carol destroying the Supreme Intelligence be at the start of the movie and then we see it from the villain’s perspective when she speaks of it in her flashback.
Firm believer here that the movie could’ve been very much better if half the flashbacks was pivoted at the beginning (and to tone down on using too many big words)
Having not seen the 1st Captain Marvel since it came out I assumed she had destroyed the Supreme Intelligence at the end of that one and I had forgotten it.
You what really sucks about Dar Benn the most she actually has good and understandable motivations. They just didn't do a lot with her and is just relegated to being an action figure
I'm surprised people didn't like Kamala meeting Carol while the planet was going to shit, I thought it was a really interesting moment for her to see her hero leaving a bunch of people to die. Wish they'd played on that a bit more, instead of having Kamala immediately be cool with it, but I guess they wanted to have the levity there so they could lean into Carol and Monica. Also, not having seen Secret Invasion, I thought Fury was still the Skrull, so I'd just waved off the way he was behaving - it's funny that watching more MCU content actually seems to make that more confusing
One thing that I wish they would have touched on regarding Hala being destroyed is how this is one of very few solo mcu movies where the hero's actions have consequences. A lot of stories are about taking out an evil dictator, but they don't show what happens to the people after that. Sometimes the people don't know how to rule themselves. Sometimes the dictator is replaced by someone worse.
Though this is an actions have consequences thing where the actions happened off screen. It doesn't really have the same emotional weight as it would have if we had followed the character when they made that decision. *This coming from a guy who hasn't seen the movie yet, and just going off of hearsay.*
Far and away, the best scenes of this movie were the montage of the Marvels learning how to adjust to their transporting, and Kamala meeting Kate Bishop. Everything else just felt like going through the motions. Sal said it best: “oh, more planets are being destroyed, oh well.” Like I’m watching these civilizations being wrecked by a fanatical despot and I’m just not caring about that???
I enjoyed those moments plus the ms. Marvel reaction to the soldiers being eaten and the whole scene when they get back to the base and help the kittens devour the people in the base so they can evacuate the base.
Millionaires and Billionaires in the real world look for more money because 9 times out of 10, they are answerable to a board of directors and shareholders, who always want a higher return to their investment. Iron Man 1 addressed this when the shares of Stark Industries tanked afterTony pulled weapon technology out of the company's portfolio. The CEOs of very big and popular companies become beholden to the shareholders and must keep looking for more revenue and market share to keep the stock price high.

Or maybe cause there’s no emotional depth most of the plot is based on major coincidences and the emotional struggle of carol and Monica gets dismissed as soon as it’s introduced.
On the "just don't listen to celebrities" thing. We don't. Most don't actually know what anyone said. But if you scroll the any social media tabloid ads will slide by. " you want believe $#@%^ said $^$#@@." And no matter how fast you scroll you know how to read and that's it. Even subconsciously it changed your opinion even a little. Again and again...

I actually agree with Hassan about all the past Marvel family projects, and I was excited about this based off the first trailer. But after some of these other projects, Marvel will not swindle another dollar from me for a half baked film. Not when I have Disney+
I went with my girlfriend to see this movie. And we both loved it and had a blast with it, we got out of the movies really happy. Then, I told her that the movie was doing really bad at the box office and she said something like "yeah, I imagine that happening". So I really think the hate it's is just overblown, like it has been for many of the Marvel movies lately in the internet. Sure, they have what I can only describe as tons of studio interference but, plenty of the movies have been a good experience at the cinema. I think there is just a new trend to just have marvel, that's what you have to do online right now, which is sad. Note, that does not mean that the movies can't be better, of course they can, but is not the writers or actors blame, It's the corporation of Disney that only wants more and more quick money, they are not interested in making great movies, but in making more and more money.
For me it was the 3rd best superhero movie of the year, which given the options isn’t say much 😀 Not as good as Guardians 3 or Spiderverse. Better than Shazam 2, Flash and Ant Man.

It all aligned with what was in movie. For pacing just picture it as one of Evanchew’s movies. Iman Vellani is Kamala Khan (Ms Marvel) Kamala Khan (Ms Marvel) is Iman Vellani. For pacing just picture it as one of Evanchew’s movies. The entanglement between Captain Marvel, Captain Rambaeu, and Ms Marvel was fun. Iman Vellani gave us the view of The Marvels in the eyes of a MCU fan. Dar Ben was an interesting villain, felt like a Kree Robin Hood type of villain. For me I think with where the Skrulls ended, The Marvels should have been before Secret Invasions. So the aspect of a faction of Skrulls wanting revenge and the goal to invade Earth would be more understandable. The last time we had real interaction with the Skrulls is the Captain Marvel Movie, where Captain Marvel and the Skrulls left on good terms. Gravik could have been one of Emperor Dro'ge’s Royal Guard so Gravik’s motivations would be clearer because Gravik would have seen first hand the destruction of another home planet.
I very much enjoyed the movie. It's a bit forgettable, but I still had a better time than I was expecting, I got more than I bargained for with Kamala Khan and Flurkens, and I laughed harder in this movie more than I had in a Marvel movie in awhile, and it happened multiple times. Carol got some much needed character development, the action was great, the humor worked but wasn't overbearing or out of place either, it was a very fun movie. Plot and villain could have been better fleshed out, but I'm fine with that given that Marvel's villains have always been kind of lame, and the plot details sometimes do just go by, but I fully intent to rewatch this and catch the details I missed. If I have one major gripe, it's that the singing planet aliens just look like humans. I don't have issues with the singing premise at all, I'm pretty sure something like that has happened in Star Trek if not very similar, but these people don't have any kind of vibrant coral fish colors, no gills, no webbing in their hands, no scales or barbs, nothing that implies they are native to a world that is 99% covered in water, and while that's not a deal breaker, I imagine that these people are native to this world, they're not colonists. But whatever, if that's my biggest gripe in this movie, that says a lot about the rest of it. No, the movie's not perfect, there's plenty of room for improvement, but it's also a ton of fun, I enjoyed it.
I thought it was fine. Like a B or a 7.5/10. The trio were the fun especially Kamala and loved their interactions. I think honestly it needed another 15 min to breath and expand on some stuff
This movie feels more of a Captain Marvel 2 and 3 more than the Marvels. However Iman did really steal the movie but I get why people don't like it because plotwise it's just all over the place. This movie Also makes Secret Invasion Irrelevant because I thought Fury couldn't find The Skrulls a home and yet I'm just seeing different planets in this movie 😂😂😂. But the Villian is just forgettable just like Malekeith from Thor the Darkworld.
I really did enjoy Iman Vellani she is killing it as Kamala/Ms.Marvel! I also really enjoyed her family being inckuded throughout it really grounds her . Her mom and Nick Fury hearding Flarkins is weirdly wholesome. Didnt know i needed that lol
It was okay. Kamala was great. I hope that’s the main take away we get from this; Kamala Good. Her and Miles Morales are the example of Legacy in Marvel, specifically, done right (DC still does it better).
It’s a great COMIC BOOK MOVIE, all caps and unabashedly so. It wears its comic book team up wackiness on its sleeve and that’s what I most appreciate in the film. It’s obviously flawed, but at same time one of the most fun times I had with a superhero film in a good while. Regardless how much I love No Way Home, Wakanda Forever and Vol. 3, regardless how much fun I’ve had with those, all of them feature some of the most devastating moments in the MCU. Also, we must protect the future leader of the Avengers and president of Marvel Iman Vellani at all costs.
Thank you all for this because I think the people that are hating on the movie are not comic book fans I feel like all these other movie critic show on RU-vid crapped on this movie so I feel like the your word matters and has swayed my judgment so I am going to check it out tomorrow thank you guys!!!
Hassan legit gives everything a pass. Even the stuff he'll come back next month and say were bad. They didnt even let Benny have an independant opinion on the singing scene. Guys its ok to disagree, that scene is an instant turn off for alot of people.
I feel like these guys spend too much time worrying what other people think/ going to think that they don't really talk about the actual subject of the review. I'm pretty sure they spent a sizable if not most of the video implying that people who didn't like the movie are misogynistic and racist instead of talking about this movie.

I thought it was fun. My only concerns were in the third act - I don’t really get how or why the villain died, why miss Marvel can clandestinely use both bracelets when it seemingly killed the villain, etc. My only nitpick is that as much as I thought the musical was fun, I wished they’d explained it a bit better as although it is a fictional superhero movie, I struggled to suspend my disbelief that people can understand singing but not speaking in the same language. I would have rather had it be a different language that happens to be sung, but then I get that the bits don’t work as well
I think the reason, Ms marvel was able to use both bracelets. Maybe due to her great-grandmother's side of her race. Since she was the welder of the bracelet and the antagonist may not really be able to handle it l. Since her second in command even told her before she got to the sun. That she would die in the process of taking the sun away.
Im also going based ms. Marvel genes having a mutation that most likely came from her great grandmother that could have given her the power needed to handle the bangles
Main complaints I would have is even worse cgi then quantumaina I didn’t think you could out do modock but beast what did they do to you and the singing planet gave me the same feeling I got from the last Jedi casino planet just shorter at least
First just going say that I like the movie and greatly enjoyed it. It was fun and honestly prefer The Marvels over Thor Love and Thunder and Antman 3. Though, and I said this before it’s hard to give people that dislike Brie Larson and Captain Marvel the benefit of the doubt anymore. The hate is overblown and it’s crazy to me how people can follow every piece of information regarding Brie Larson just praying for her downfall. It’s insane, especially when actors/actresses have done and said worse then her and don’t get nearly as much hate. As for Captain Marvel herself, it’s even more baffling to me cause out of all the times characters have been written badly in comics from Green Lantern to heck, Wolverine raped Mary Jane in a story once (he’s in Peter body, but still sex under false pretenses similar to what Wonder Woman did in her movie) Hank pym slapping Janet, etc. Neither gets nearly as much hate as Carol does. Just seems like a lot of it comes from sexist beliefs I can’t lie
You know, if you told me back in January 2020 that The Marvels would be the best film on top of Thor 4, Ant-Man 3, and Black Widow I’d say you’re lying. But seriously, this movie has the emotional beats and personality those movies cheap out on. It was a perfect mix of Ms.Marvel, Guardians 3, and Captain Marvel all in one film. Side note about the musical scene: I thought it was perfect. Star Trek like with a planet where the language is song, these people are welcoming and peaceful, then BAM those guys are probably all dead now. It may be a cringy scene for some, but it at least invested you into a world with so much personality that is then killed off because another world wants its resources. It’s straight up: oooh! Singing planet! Nooo! They’re freaking dead now.
People just need to enjoy themselves watching these movies. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t fully like this movie but I feel like everyone is just crapping on it just because.
