Still processing this but everyone send loves prayers support to bennys love ones like Natalie Dan Andy. Benny thank you for giving us all that and comics.
This episode is a good one to be Benny's last. The Turtles discussion encapsulates who he was and will forever be. Passionate, fierce, jubilant, and positive. Requiescat in pace, rex.
When he says "See you next time" just breaks my heart knowing we will never get to see these two have such fun talking to each other. You will be greatly missed Benny :(
I’m so heartbroken. I listened to every episode of this show and every comicstorian upload. Benny felt like a life long friend. I’m heartbroken. Benny got me back into comics 10 years ago when I had lost interest. Sending love and prayers to his wife, family and friends.
I stopped following comics for a while but I remember getting caught up on all the DC stuff from this channel. Was just nice listening to this guy talk about comic books while I worked. I can’t believe he’s gone.
Agreed. I feel like ive known Benny for years. Falling asleep to the complete stories, listening to the podcasts during commutes and the work day. Or watching his videos to brush up on my comics understanding with a tad of comedy. I did not know I could experience a mourning for someone I have not met, but to that person, Benny. You made a difference in my life and so many others. We will miss you immensely.
I’ve been putting off watching this video from how busy I’ve been… RIP Benny you will always be a legend. Thank you for the hours of content I’ve enjoyed for who knows how many years.
Wow this hit me hard, this channel is a great outlet for me and loved the comradere between Benny and Sal. Rest in peace Benny, you will be missed by many.
Benny was an inspiration to everyone who watched his videos. His laughter and funny voices also brought me joy in the darkest of times. I have two core memories that I will never ever forget. The first one was on his gaming channel Eligible Monster, when Rob, Nat, and him were reading comments from the comment of the section of past videos. I had the honor of being one of those comments it read "benny if you're in trouble blink twice." What followed was Benny laughing and blinking rapid while looking at the camera. It was so cool to see him look and interact with my comment, and it's a memory I will always cherish. Hearing him laugh at my dumb little comment will always ring in my head. The second was during The Weekly Pulls Avengers Endgame review video. Benny was talking about how we knew everything that would happen within the film. I posted a comment saying, "So you knew Red Skull was gonna be in it?" Rob and Benny both laughed at the comment as Benny was correcting his statement. It was a joy to see them laugh together at another funny comment I had made. I will forever cherish those memories for the rest of the days. Im going out drinking later tonight, and I will take a shot in his honor. Rest in peace, Benny. Fly high and proud.
I know how parasocial it is, and I’m sorry, I’m sorry I know people who really knew him are grieving. I can’t watch this cause once the video ends, it’s real. He seemed really great, and he was a huge inspiration to me. When it was announced he wrote a back up for Bloodshot I was really proud of him. His optimism and laughter were infectious, the amount of bad days turned good at work while listening to you guys is something I can’t ever repay. Thank y’all seriously, and I’m sorry for your loss. Thank you, rest in peace.
Might be the last video I hear this guys voice. We love you Ben. I remember listening to this channel for the first time while I weed whacked for a maintenance job back in 2020. Been following your stuff ever since. Rest in power, much love to you and your family. You will be missed
I'm going to miss this. Benny has been helping me find a smile since I was a drug addict scrapping to get better. Nearly a decade later and a completely different life... This has been the one constant. RIP Benny, condolences to those that actually knew him, although I'm sure we all felt we did. Love always to Benny and his people.
Rip Benny You were a big help to getting me into comics hardcore From spider-verse to civil war to injustice, your dramatic readings and summaries really helped and shaped me into the comic book fan I am today. Thank you for all you've done and I'll miss your voice and laugh so much. Prayers to nathalie, dan, sal, hussein, and everyone if his fans that are hurting.
Rip Benny. I started watching you when I was in 7th grade and you got me through COVID and now I’m about to be a senior in high school and it will never be the same. May you feast in Valhalla with Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Bill Finger.
RIP Benny! I've watched your content on this channel for the past 5 years and your other channel going over comic book characters for 10yrs. You have helped me understand these characters on a different level and love them dearly. You will be severely missed and I will always watch your content 💔😥
I'm sick bro!!!!! I was just in the streams a week ago!!!! It would only even be a couple of us in there routinely.....awwww man this is sad. He was such a solid dude been there since the jump! All those years of the weekly pull until now.....dude just loved his comics, manga, final fantasy, and his wife.....loved life. Truly was a shining bright light. Salute Benny I'm glad I was able to give u your praise before this.
This man was larger then life! High energy, positivity to the max. He’ll be immortalized in all these videos. Definitely will be going back and watching the old content.
I can’t believe the news, I’ve been watching Benny for over 10 years! Rest in Peace, I’ll keep you in mind every time I read, Benny and the Weekly Pull helped me get into comics
Absolutely heartbreaking news😢 My condolences to Benny's family and friends. That KRAKAKAKOOM! onomatopoeia will never hit the same way again. R.I.P. to Benny The Comicstorian.
I waited to see this episode, and now it may the last new video I'll ever see of Benny. Still can't believe it. The world is a little sadder now, may he rest in peace.
RIP Brother. You got me back into comics and helped me stay up to date when I couldn't afford them. I never knew you personally but you seemed like such a kick ass dude. Saying you will be missed doesn't come close to expressing how folks feel. Love you homie
Bruh i haven't been here in a minute i listened to you for 10 years you introduced me to my favorite comics as well as Sal and Rob you influenced my reading as well as my comedy. Even though we never met you were my lifelong friend and always gave me joy
Been watching since I was 14 and the pod was with comics explained and Faust, I’m 24 now, thank you guys for everything, much love to you Benny and family ❤
Man can't believe this is real I'd listen to you guys non stop at work to the point you guys felt like part of my life and daily routine... this one definitely hurts
I was going to wait to watch this...maybe I waited too long. RIP Benny. You brought joy to thousands of people and will always be remembered in the community.
Rest in peace Benny. Your energy and enthusiasm will be greatly missed in the hobby. I am so sorry to everyone in his life that is dealing with the loss of such a powerful presence of a person. You are blessed to have had him as a part of your life. 💔
Damn first Wednesday w/o the guy....this is wild...no booming intro....no krakakakoom.....its so wild that so many of us have just been used to hearing this guy a few times a week for over a decade. Its like you don't even realize how much these communities become a part of our routines in this internet age. It wasn't like this for gen x. We all came into these social spaces at the same time and have connected over our similar loves and interests and we all get to know so much about these guys and interact with them over time in different ways. Its crazy seeing a whole generation of comic lovers that he inspired and basically put to bed every night from middle school to adulthood, meanwhile others were just hear to talk about the latest in comic news every week with a group of guys that grew up on the same comics/movies and had the same love/references etc. 10 yrs ago the idea of commenting or subscribing to ppl on youtube/twitch was so foreign, but the first subs were marvel explained and comicstorian so I could catch up w/ comics and have been keeping up w/ these guys ever since.
Listening to this episode at work now. Really fucking with me. Fuck. I can't believe this is the last time I'll hear your voice. I still can't believe this is real. 😭 I love you man. I'm sorry I wasn't a more vocal fan but gd you meant the world to me. -AzureComet
There’s a job where you can be a nerd about a franchise and super pedantic, and they will pay you to correct people handling the IP? What is this mythical job, and how does one apply?
Haven’t watched in a while… just been busy with work but like to binge watch the episodes I missed you know? It really is sad to hear what happened to the guy that got me excited for comics in general. Hopefully he knew how much he meant to his family, friends, and his fans. This one hurts a lot. I wish I supported him more while he was still here
