I don’t know why but like my favorite part of your video is when you do your intro and you say “this is Jason” relaxing in a way. Keep up the great work!
I love mine, the LED's on the control panel is great and I didn't even know they existed until I accidentally figured it out. Ms. Pac-Man still plays weird for me. I put it at FAST speed but the joystick doesn't respond the best with it. It's like you have to move it before the turn, if you do it right on the turn it doesn't go.
Just actually purchased this exact one today for the man cave, u got me excited to recieve this for sure, can’t wait to set it up in the basement, got it at arcade 1up , good review, thanx
Awesome review! Your review was top of the Class as always. If this would have had PAC MAN included like the real arcade Class of 1981 this would have been a must buy Arcade1Up for me. I have nostalgia based on the real arcade game. It had secret modes. It still came out pretty great except for the marquee and probably joystick for me as I only play FAST Ms. Pac Man. Those easily fixed with mods. I am a bit OCD with my Arcade1Ups be once I get the issues fixed I really love them and I actually play them. Awesome John D got us the fast shoot though. He listened and delivered. If this goes on sale I will have to scoop one up for sure. You do the best reviews out there.
Thanks Papa Brad’s Gaming, I really appreciate the kind words brother! Keep up the great content on your channel! I’m sure this one will go on sale at some point. I’m really enjoying the online leaderboards on this one. 👍
Bought original Pac-Man from Costco, $365. Just bought Ms Pac-Man from Best Buy, $500. Love it. The only complaint I have is the plastic film on the side panel peels off a little. I just glue it back.
Great review on the Class of 81 cabinet. The games selection is really nice on this one and with the many options in changing the difficulty, lives, etc. with having online leaderboards makes it an awesome cab to have. Kinda blows away the Ms. Pac-man cab from last year to be honest.
Thanks xXhiwakaXx, really appreciate that my friend! The options and online leaderboards really are awesome on this cabinet. Tons of replay value chasing those top scores. 👍
this is the one! i can’t find this model anymore! the new ones are nice but unfortunately the new one just won’t fit very well in my arcade room - i think they recalled all these before the new(er) one was released because i can’t find it for sale anywhere
It’s a really nice cabinet. Really the only negative with it is the dull light-up marquee. Hopefully you can find one soon! Thanks for checking the video out. 👍
I spent many quarters and pissed off emotions on Rolling Thunder 😂😂I just bought this '81 from best buy, going to pick it up tomorrow, can't wait to relive my youth, Rolling Thunder I'm coming for ya 🤬
Thanks so much for good review! I had NO IDEA it had all these games. They don’t typically mention that online on eBay or what not. I was thinking I had to get a new machine for each set and wasn’t really interested as much until now
It’s definitely a great cab by Arcade1up. Solid game lineup, nice artwork on the cab and online leaderboards all make this cab worth the money. Thanks for checking out the video Steven!
Cool review and cabinet man! I think the original Ms. Pac-Man & Galaga combo. cabinet is at my local Harkins still. Always thought it was a pretty cool looking arcade machine.
Thanks atranfanatic, really appreciate that bro! It’s so cool that a lot of those original class of ‘81 cabs are still all over the place. I recently just saw one also at a restaurant around here. Love that cab!
@@3rdFloorArcade There's a bar and grill called Wild Eagle Saloon in a neighboring town to us here that has the original Class of 81 cabs in it with a swipe card instead of a coin door. There's a Big Buck Hunter also and a bunch of other machines. Cool place, yes I played this Class of 81 there of course. 😁👍
@@DeputyVanHalen5150 nice! That’s awesome to hear. There’s not enough original arcades around anymore in restaurants/bars. The closest one to me is a barcade in Philly about 40 minutes away.
@@3rdFloorArcade Yeah, that's the way it is now. This saloon that I mentioned is about 25 miles Southeast of Cleveland. They have other locations too. This one has some cool arcades.
This is one of those cabs that you'll either love or hate. For me it's hate - offer them as separate cabs; combining them just isn't for me. I do love the control deck - looks very good, and very nice to have on-line leader boards. Fast fire sweet too. Nice to see wifi on all cabs going forward (well, hopefully). Great review as always Jason!
Thanks so much Evil Genius Entertainment, really appreciate that bro! The online leaderboards was a big selling point to me on this cab. Really enjoying it so far! Keep up the excellent content on your channel my friend 👍
Well thank you much! Right back you BTW! I could see selling my Namco Legacy for this cab (Despite me not loving its looks) b/c of the good lineup, speed fire, and wifi. A1up def listening to input from the community.....
Class of 81 was an actual arcade game that came out around the early 2000's though. It had both Mrs. Pac and Galaga on it - so they're just making a home version of an actual namco product. I really like this one...
Great review Jason! The game play looks really good on this one! Definitely making me want this cab now! I am a big fan of the split artwork! It just makes it stand out!
Thanks GameBroker_84, really appreciate that brother! I highly recommend this one. The only problem area is the light up marquee. Everything else is pretty awesome. The online leaderboards really make a difference! 👍
Lol I hear you there. My room is getting tight as well. I can fit this one in there but after that I might need to move a couple to the basement to make room for new ones. Lol.
It looks great. I really wish they would add all of the Pac-Man related games in there, and have 20 games or more per cabinet. Some cabinets only have 2 games, like Dig Dug and Dig Dug 2 for the Dig Dug cabinet I believe, no longer in production.
Hey Man! Great Vid! It looks like the screen is bigger then my Pacman Plus Cab, plus I didn't realize that this Reunion Cab had that many games on it? Awesome! Looks so slick!
Thanks Micah, I really appreciate that! The screen size is actually the same 17 inch monitor as the older cabinets. It really is a great cab, love the game lineup & artwork. Thanks for checking out the video! 👍
Fun facts: the original Class of 81 cab also had a washed out marquee so it won't really matter. Also when you said you were holding on to your Pac-Man 40th, I was confused but then I realized that the Namco Legacy and Class of 81 have the same 6 games (Galaga, Galaxian, both Dig Dugs, Mappy, and Rompers) so it makes sense. Only complaints/nitpicks are that the marquee isn't exactly like the original one (the Galaga logo is different) and the Galaga side art is a bit too big unlike the original one.
Appreciate your thoroughness, great review to watch. Never heard of King and Balloon, looks fun. Just got Big Blue and Turtles in Time on sale at Best Buy. Couldn't pass up a chance to get in on some of the newest cabs.
@@3rdFloorArcade I definitely understand that feeling... I've actually been dealing with that for over a week now ... there's a Ms pacman 40th anniversary cab at my local Walmart for 245 ... now I know I don't need it ( having almost 20 cabs already and having all those same games on multiple things ) but yet with the current cabs costing so much, when I see that "deal".. its hard not to just buy it . Now I haven't yet but I sure have been ready to drive down there on my way to work the past few days 😅🤦♂️... more then likely I'll give in but I'm holding strong lol... I hope it's gone the next time I check but I know I'll regret it lol
@@3rdFloorArcade yes sir lol .... I'm gonna go by there tomorrow just to see. ... now even if I get it , thats the first hurtle.... then I have my wife to deal with lol 🤦♂️
I agree that Ms Pac Man cabinet looks beautiful! And even the marquee on that Ms Pac Man cab looks way better than this one. I had the version with Dig Dug and sold it to a friend a couple weeks ago. I’m gonna miss it!
I thought the same thing about the X-Men marquee looking faded too compared to the other ones. Hopefully that's not a new normal for them to cheapen it up. We will see once my Simpsons cabinet shows up.
Good review of this 81 cab. I was curious about this one and like the game lineup. Glad you like it. I am way late to the party but my new MVSX showed up yesterday. The cab is solid. Saw your videos and it pushed me off the fence. First time ever playing Shock Troopers. Me likes. 👍
Thanks Chris, really appreciate that man! That’s awesome you got the MVSX. I’m glad you are liking it. Shock Troopers is one of my favorite Neo Geo games! That MVSX is 🔥🔥👍
I own the cab too. I agree, the molded coin door would've put this over the top. The art on the j panel really needs to be a standard too going forward in my opinion. Side note, there's a vendor out there (forget the name right now) that sells led red lights to put behind the coin slots on the molded coin door. Makes it really stand out and I think that should also be a standard going forward. If I remember the name and the link, I'll drop it in here.
Thanks for checking out the video Conor! Those LED lights for the coin slots sound great. I might add that actually to the X-men cabinet. Hopefully A1UP adds that to the future cabinets. 👍
What’s up Twisted Chris! Thanks for checking out the video. I agree the menu settings and also the online leaderboards make a big difference on these. I’m lookin forward to seeing some Killer Instinct gameplay on your channel, great job on your review brother!
I hold that #2 on Galaxian 😄 It's funny because when you get Top 3 or whatever on something you kinda focus on trying to get better and better so I don't even play anything else. Cool Review and I'm glad to see this in your Collection!!!! I DID Notice you on the Top 25 BTW Jason! 🎊
Your Galaxian score is quite impressive brother! I was playing that game last night actually, I always found that game to be pretty tough but it’s awesome. Thanks for checking out the video cMARVEL360!
Cool review.. I was leaning at getting this but I already had a modded galaga version with all these verticals… rolling thunder is one of my top 10 all Time favorite real arcade cabs… if I didn’t already own it- there’s no question I would have purchased this cab for that game alone!! Great job and camera angles buddy! Take care. Thanks 👍
Thanks Dwayne! Great to hear from you brother! I need to put in more time with Rolling Thunder. I don’t have much experience at all with that game. The gameplay on it is great!
The better you get at it- the more addicting- still pretty hard. After you beat the first 5 levels… the 2nd scene starts over slightly but then gets twice as hard… still havnt Ben able to beat it in all these years… alway get 2nd to last level and so many enemies it’s almost impossible.. but never gets old
Strong lineup on this one. The version of Galaga '88 that I'm most familiar with is Galaga '90 on the TG16, it's not much different. Never cared for Dig Dug II. Dig Dug is an amazing game, though. Thanks for the great review.
Thanks Game Wizard, really appreciate that! That’s awesome you had the TG16 version. I was always a huge TG16 fan, I remember buying that system back in the day at Circuit City when it launched in 1989.
Great vid as always! Saw you on the Ms Pac leader board the other day lol (Im Cat_Zoe) (my youtube obsessed twins) lol. They are going to freak out when they see their names on your vid hahaha. Totally right the marquee is absolute trash. I already ordered a replacement from Arcade Game Factory. They use new material now that REALLY nails the black. Should look great on this one
Thanks Frank, really appreciate that man! I am going to check out that same marquee you ordered, I’ll probably order it this week. Thanks for the heads up with that marquee brother!
I'm gonna check them out as well. . . What I find the most funny is that this Marquee is Spot On for how the real arcade machine would look whenever I saw it 😂😂😂😂😂
RickDaRippa is online, time to rip up the leaderboards, lol. I see you got the 3rd place spot on Galaga 88, NOICE! Don't you just love it when you can "get in the zone"?!! You never know when that might be, when you might get that near perfect run and beat your own personal hi and then keep going. Late last night I just so happened to "get in the zone" on Discs of Tron and surpassed my 29,000 hi and made it to the top 20 in Arcade Settings. Ended up with a new hi of 43,900 at 13th on the board. Can't wait to get at those Class of 81 leaderboards!
Dude it’s a great feeling being in the zone and getting your top score! I was playing a bunch of games in Class of 81 last night, it’s awesome. That Discs of Tron score you got is impressive! I used to play that game back in the day. I really like that one!
@@3rdFloorArcade Bro I see you got up there on Ms.P, nice! I played through each of them last night and got the most play on Rolling Thunder, one of my all-time faves from Namco. I noticed the sound on this cab is better than most, nice punchy bass and clear highs. Refreshing considering they botched the sound on the Ms.P standalone cab. Also noticed the joystick has a bit of a tighter feel to it and is more responsive in Ms.P and Galaga games. Definitely the best iteration of these games in a cab to date, this one is easily one of my favorites in my arcade!
@@rickhoes6326 totally agree with you on the sound and the joystick. It feels much better playing these games on this cabinet compared to some of the older versions. I’m gonna be playing tonight most likely, I gotta improve those scores bro! Looking forward to seeing RickDaRippa on there!
Excellent review!!! Was a little skeptical but I think I'll buy one of these now! Also seems like some of the sound issues have been fixed on the games too. (for example, the 1st Galaga 1up release had a bit of stuttering in the musical parts, and on Ms Pac, the tunes were a bit lagging)
Thanks for checking out the video Mikey J Productions, really appreciate that man! I’m sure these will be on sale at some point. Great cabinet overall!
@@PapaBradsGaming I've actually been considering doing that horizontal 60-1 mod to my Pac-Man (it's a gen 1). Another cab is ALWAYS a nice addition, and this Class of 81 has a nice selection of games (and is nice looking as well). So if I can find it in a Walmart down the road for a good deal, I might have to snag it. I'm worried about room though. Where in the heck does Jason keep finding room for these things, lol.
I been work on mame since mame was leased in the early 90’s, I spent years and years of getting all the roms working, I own every mame rom and all the CHDs it’s been a long journey getting all them working and I have almost a complete Laser game collection and now working on techno parrot, and super model, I think I own almost every roms from ps1 back, the mame Machine that I been working on for 13 years,, I use mame .140, what I can’t believe how much people want for all that I have, it’s kinda of a headache getting the roms working because I had to download like multiple roms of the same kind to just get the right files out of the zips to make a complete rom. But I can say that my mame Machine is probably better than most peoples set up because I say only 1% of all the name roms I had, I still have to get working because it sucks going through like over 29,000 or more to see if they work or not. I use programs to help me to see if I am missing a file in rom zip file. I like arcade1ups because it’s nice to have a dedicated arcade game set to just one game.
Thank you for your wonderful review of this arcade cabinet. Your video convinced me to purchase this particular cabinet, and I absolutely love it. I definitely subscribed to your RU-vid channel 🙏. I absolutely love watching your video reviews of the different arcade 1 up machines. Please keep up your great work. Thanks again ☺️ Kimi
Hey Jason! Beautiful bit of kit that. Yeah, the look of the cab is great. Reasonable price too, for a full size 1up. Hopefully it makes it's way over here.👍
Hey bro! Thanks for checking out the video. I bet this one makes it over to the UK/Europe. It’s too popular of a cab not to be there. It’s a great cab, really enjoying it so far!
I haven't fully assembled my cab just yet Jason but I do have the monitor and control deck up and running! Almost tempted to not put it together, that marquee looks pretty blegh, but the rest looks good. Coin doors would have been sick right over the artwork. Anyway good luck with high scores add me to favorites bro! jugocujo
Thanks so much bro, really appreciate that! I’m looking forward to seeing you on there, I’ll definitely add you to my favorites. The Class of 81 cab is a great one. 👍
Nice review. I actually didn’t even realize this had online… I’m on the fence. I want an arcade with Pac-Man online… but I’m waiting to see what they release in the future. I’d love to see Pac-Man combined with different games. This LOOKS cool though.
Thanks Keto, really appreciate that! Yeah the online leaderboards are awesome on this cabinet. I’m sure there will be more PacMan & Ms PacMan cabs in the future with more game lineups.
It's a shame that I haven't even seen any Arcade1UP cabinets let alone PLAYED on those, especially the Ms Pac-Man one because my dad used to play the hell out of it on my old GBA sp
Jason, I would've loved to have this machine, but no more room in my Arcade :( My only complaint about the Class of 81 is that so many games are repeated from my Namco Legacy Pac-Man cab (6 repeated). At least they added Rolling Thunder to Class of 81, which uses a 4-Way joystick, so it's perfect for this cab. I still wanted Ms. Pac-Man in my Arcade and was SO HAPPY to see that QVC offered a new Ms. Pac-Man Partycade with 10 games. Four of the games on the Partycade do appear on my Legacy Pac-Man, which is a bummer, but the other 6 are new. And like Class of 81, Ms. Pac-Man has the speed option as well :) Man, I wish I had unlimited space :) vgv
Thanks Videogame Vegas, much appreciated my friend. Yeah I agree with you on A1UP recycling games from product to product. But I guess they are making a ton of $ by doing it. That Ms Pac Man partycade really does look fantastic! I need to pick one of those partycades up at some point. Enjoy your weekend vgv!
Kinda sad that Ms. Pac-Man is the only Pac-Man game on this cabinet. At least put Pac-Man Plus or Super Pac-Man. While Galaga has 3 of it's sequels on this cabinet. Other than that, looks like a really fun cabinet to have! Gonna get one soon, hopefully.
I highly recommend this cabinet! It’s still one of my favorites from A1UP. I noticed Best Buy has a pretty good deal on it right now. I agree more Pac-Man games would have been good for the cabinet 👍
Good review! I like the look of this, probably the best J panel from them so far. I've heard that the Pacman hack isn't there? Have you tried it just for the heck of it? Nice game lineup though. I'm one of the few guys that likes pixel smoothing. To me on Mrs. Pac-Man the smoothing filter looks like I'm playing the old school arcade on screen. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thanks Deputy Van Halen! I don’t think the Pac Man hack is on there but honestly I completely forgot to test it out lol. I’ll get back to you on that one. I agree the J Panel looks awesome, it really completes the look of the cab. 👍
If I had a dollar for every time this guy said “Cab In It” 😂 So glad I did a 60 in 1 mod to my wave one Pac-Man cabinet. Way more games & it has Donkey Kong! I’ll likely keep it forever. It actually gets more gameplay from guests than any of my cabinets.
@@3rdFloorArcade everytime I see your setup, it gives me the feeling of being at Disneyland as a kid! If you have a family w/kids I image they love it, and if not, you got one hella'of a Bachelor pad!
Id rather this was in a cocktail cab form. Wouldn't be such a mixed up art scheme. Could have 1 on each side and for each control deck. I think that would look sharp.
Any advice for convincing my wife to let me have an awesome arcade collection like yours? I have MK2 Legacy, and want more, but she's hardcore against it. Love your channel, your whole set up, and your reviews!
Thank you so much Tao Technique, really appreciate that brother! Which cab or cabs are on top of your list if you get the green light for more? I’m dying to get that Ridge Racer cabinet.
Thank you Gordon I really appreciate that! Yeah that’s the only problem with those light up decks. Every little scratch and fingerprint really stands out.
Thanks Jester Tester, I really appreciate that brother! Are you adding any new cabinets to your arcade over there in the near future? I think I’m picking up that ridge racer.
@@3rdFloorArcade I actually had Tron originally purchased. But I pulled the plug on it after really thinking about it. It definitely is a beautiful looking cabinet and I would have loved to have added it but I sincerely couldn't justify the price for the two games. Hopefully down the road there will be a better deal that will help me swallow the price a bit more. Now Ridge Racer looks nice. I like they added the rumble in the steering wheel. I wish they would have had that for the Outrun cab. That may be one I grab. But because of the higher prices on these newer cabs I am reluctant to jump on them out of the gate as I had been doing before. If that makes any sense. Hey if I don't get a chance to talk to you, Happy Holidays my friend.
@@JesterTester thanks so much, Happy Holidays to your as well! I hear you on those prices. I gotta be really selective going forward also. I’m passing on KI, Simpsons, Tron etc.Just picking up the ones I really want.
Great video... But I willnt be pick/but this cab up and for these reasons! One, the price point (599.99 with 12 games) when anyone can get the ms pac man 40 anniversary from walmart (349.99 wit 10 games, no riser and no light marquee) with similar games lineup! For an extra hundred dollar I can get riser and lightup Marquee for ms pac man forty! Two, for 599.99 the sound isnt great (soundgate), though other RU-vidrs they show the plbm with this cab and other from the wave 4 cabinets.. Three, there no online play, just leader board isnt enough to justify the price! I know it a classic cab but the price should be 449.99 or even 499.99 the highest!
Thanks Two Mile Arcade, much appreciated my friend! Yeah I agree this cab is priced too high $599. I originally wasn’t planning on getting this one but Kohls had this for 449 with another 80 back in Kohls cash on top of it. So far, really enjoying this cab. I just have to get a new marquee for it.
It’s not the same sound as the Ms Pac-Man Galaga arcade machine I own the arcade machine you can play Pac-Man also also its to let you continue after you lose all your lives so you don’t have the Ms Pac-Man galaga version if you never played on one search it on RU-vid you’ll see the sound is different arcade 1 up isn’t making them the same as the arcade machine
@@tom11zz884 that’s not the point can you fit it or go buy the arcade machine it’s make the arcade 1 ups the exact same gameplay as the arcade machine it’s enough when Nintendo was out they didn’t release the games playing like the arcade to why I was buying arcade machines instead but this isn’t a weak console that arcade 1 up is using their just not listening to their consumers go look at the first teenage mutant ninja turtles arcade 1 up the intro doesn’t sound the same as the original arcade machine if you press the button while shredder talks you won’t hear him or April something that shouldn’t happen in the first place to why I’m happy I own the original arcade machine
@@3rdFloorArcade Diff would look 👀 AWESOME 😍♥️ I just CANNOT WAIT FOR MY ARCADE1UP TERMINATOR 2 Cab to Show up at my Door 🚪 I ordered it and have been drooling ever since 🤪🤣🤣♥️☝️
Is there a way to have your high scores individualized to the people getting them? So one person can have their high score under their name and another person under their name?
she’s beautiful - is the speedrom versions on these? there were speed hacks of galaga, ms. pacman , and pac-man on the original class of 1981 cabinet (!)
Thanks Loujon 12, I really appreciate that! I’m on the fence with Tron, KI and Simpsons. There’s a good chance I get Simpsons though. I’m definitely picking up Ridge Racer, really pumped for that one!
If ii were to do an upgrade on stick/buttons, is there a plug and play set you could suggest. Thanks. Havent set mine up yet, finally pulled the trigger waiting on a ms pacman cab and this one looks awesome....
Yeah that’s a great idea upgrading the sticks and buttons. I still need to upgrade those on the Big Blue also. Might go with the Sanwa plug and play sticks and buttons. 👍
Thanks KC Dave! That’s so funny you picked that up. I’m pretty close to the Lehigh Valley area actually. I’m about a half hour outside of Philadelphia. 👍
just bought one from Kohl's also, have it all set up! was considering purchasing one more cabinet for the house, either Arcade 1up's MvC, or Unico's MVSX. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Nice pickup Joseph! Class of ‘81 is a great one. MVC vs MVSX… that’s a close one. I really love them both. I think I’d go MVSX. Tons more games and the look of it is amazing.
