This is something that DIY cabin builders have been asking for a long time, but the main thing is still missing, that we can deactivate the view of the panel (obviously without using the zoom to maintain the reference distance) and only see it from the plexiglass. Asobo has to find a way to make it look like what can be done with X-Plane.
This is awesome! I am close to finishing my PC build that can handle this (5800X3D+6900xt); but will be a while before I can get the displays and control devices as well. I just love your setup.
@@moreiramor9070 I figured it out. I'd signed up for the beta program and thought all the updates had been applied but I needed to restart my PC then apply updates through the store, then the experimental menu appeared.
@@funlightfactory6031 of course you do they probably never saw that sim in VR I mean good VR with nice resolution like G2 has ( I had rift S before and picture quality is garbage compared to G2 ) but man those views and cockpit and everything I always scratch my head asking myself why they need 3 monitors if there is a VR.
@@funlightfactory6031 That is awesome man I'm telling you once you put them on and you see graphics you not gonna find your jaw until freaking Christmas , I hope you won't die from starvation 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It is a nice setup, but for simulator cockpit builders we need, on multiple screens only the scenary, not the virtual airplane, as we have full working simulator cockpit. Is there a way to do so?
@@iamcanadian2121 thanks for the info I was waiting for...until that I'll stay on xp11.BTW it's an awesone news ! Asobo think of us , the cockpit builders !
Is a Four-Monitor Array doable? I fly open cockpit WW1 aviation sims and I've seen three-monitor setups (like yours) where a center monitor shows the view ahead and a second and third monitors angled back on the sides show the view to either side; blended to merge when you rotate your head to look around with a head tracker like Track IR. I've also seen four-monitor setups with one at top center, but only used to display the desktop; not the sim. QUESTIONS Is it possible to assign a fourth monitor (above the center monitor and angled back) to show an overhead view of the sky in an "open cockpit" aviation simulation? Will the "wrap around" setting for three multiple monitors also see a fourth one (atop center) as "extra real estate" on which the range of the game image can be extended? I'd like to build an array that will do that. Any info?
this is so sad I don't even know what to say. Why don't you throw away all that junk and actually step into that virtual cockpit in person in VR? not only cheaper, also way more immersive.
30 framerates is still awesome 👍Please how much effects these triple monitors in worst cases ? Would you please introduce your PC and Monitors quality? Thanks so much
In so many of these kind of videos there seems to be so little info as to hardware used and actual performance. Answers like - realistically what kind of video card are we talking about for 30FPS at 1080p on each screen, what graphic settings and does the CPU really affect it. All the videos look cool but beyond that provide limited info.
Its actually 4k Res. they are 55" Led curved TVs Not a smart tv don't need all that stuff. RTX 3080 CPU is an Icore 9 @4.3 GHZ water cooled. 32 gig ram and all solid state HDs. You have to play with the Sliders and all the other settings to see which takes a big FPS hit. Trial and error. But in 30 min or so you can figure out what your PC likes and dislikes.
@@iamcanadian2121 there’s no way I can get close to that and my pc is like yours. Lots of RAM, RTX3080, running 3 windows, it can hardly run 3 windows at 1920x1080. Unless I’m doing something wrong.
@@gregthegroove I have DX 12 running otherwise I get 10-15 FPS with DX11. DLSS Set to Balanced. Both Sliders for detail are at 100 ,all other settings are on High.
Did they also remove the size distortion on the sides when using a widescreen such as a Samsung 49 inches. I saw a video saying SU10 implemented this as well (such as X-Plane and P3d do) but cannot find how to turn this on
Thanks for the video. Does MSFS have a bezel compensation setting ? Also, what is the render resolution using balanced DLSS as shown in the dev mode FPS counter ? Do you notice a decrease in resolution of the outside world using DLSS ?
Thanks for the video - your setup is well cool! This looks fantastic. I'm a VR user but have never really been that impressed by MSFS2020 in VR and this really is a possibility now...
I enjoyed the video , but when I open the "General Options"I don't see the item : "Experimental" . I have the premium of MSFS version, so I wander how I can see the item "Experimental"
I tried this and I can’t get it too look good even in 1080. Stutters and blurry etc….what’s the setup before all this? I’m assuming nvidia surround enabled? I must be doing something wrong. I don’t understand the different windows. I get it in concept, but it opens 3 different windows which it seems my rtx 3080 which isn’t some cheap card, it seems very bogged down, slow and non responsive even at 1920x1080. So is your main MSFS window in the middle and window 1 and 2 (left and right)?
NO Nvidea SURROUND!! Your desktop should be 3 monitors . and yes the left and right are 2 more views or separate monitors. If you check on the task bar with your mouse you will see 3 separate windows open. I average in heavy city scenery 30-35 FPS . in the mountains open valley scenery 40-50FPS. Ambient occlusion set to low or off Big FPS hitter, for me anyway, clouds bare minimum.
@@iamcanadian2121 right, I figured it out last night. Def way better but not perfect. So in your initial set up, you’re telling me you have the simulator running 3 windows at 4K each and you’re getting 30 fps in each window and it’s playable? We have the same RTX3080.
@@gregthegroove I would just keep experimenting with different settings , see which of the one gives your the largest frame drop. Every Pc has its own personality , don't always follow what works "BEST" for others. Do you have solid state drives? Big difference!
@@iamcanadian2121 yup, I have SSD’s. I find that I get the best balance of performance and graphics at medium settings with Volumetric clouds bumped to High and buildings bumped to high. I run all windows at 1080p. It doesn’t look too bad. In person it looks way nicer than it does on a video if I took a cockpit recording.
What version of FlightSim 2020 do you have? I do not have the "Experimental" tab on my screen, I see everything else all the way down to VR Mode tab and nothing below it.
@@JM-lg4nd If you're using steam version. 1. open steam and select msfs 2020 (don't launch it). 2. click on settings cog on right hand side (near achievements) and select properties from the drop down list. 3. Click on "Betas" in the list on the left. 4. In the drop down list of betas to opt in too, select msfs. 5. close all windows back to the main screen, you should have a download to start for it to install the latest beta version before it will allow you to launch with the "Play" button.
@iamcanadian2121 how did you connect them in the Sim to be master and slave? In XP you just do it in graphics settings. Do you mind explaining or doing a vid on it pls? I have 3 PC. One for 4 monitor side views, one for instruments, last for front and passenger views. I would appreciate it. 😊 🙏 thx
Thank you for posting! I also have the HP Reverb but soon tired of the tunnel vision and hassle, so went back to using a 65" smart TV which actually gives a beautiful 4k display. No gaming monitor for sure but very nice for FS. The particular Samsung I'm using has very slender (almost non-existent) frame area so two more should mate up well and make for a huge cockpit. The big question now is if I'll have to upgrade my 3070....
3070 is great. But if you want to run 3 plus monitors at 30+ frames close to ultra graphics and 100 res, you would definitely need a 3080ti or 3090 at the least. Not saying itll be bad with 3070, but you’ll likely have to turn the settings down a bit.
Without a form of cylindrical image projection by the sim, the wide screen would stretch the edges of the image like a very wide angle lens, the edge of view structures like the door frame or wing strut would be well over twice or three times its width compared to if it was in the centre of the image. Three separate windows like here would give less/better distortion. It would be like three 11:9 screens.
Yep, they should be ashamed of themselves, but they finally have a less-than-ideal multi-monitor product that you can tell they didn't spend much time on, but other than that, it's a chicken-dinner.
@@iamcanadian2121 I didn't explain very well; my apologies. I run P3D on 3 x 24" monitors in one window stretched across all three screens with wide aspect true on. This gives me a wide field of view without distortions when I pan. Does MSFS do this? I may be misunderstanding all the complaints about MSFS not supporting multiple monitors.
Yes move your seat all the forward /sideways ...,then Save that view, ctrl+Alt +number 1 or 2 .....Go into your Camera cfg folder its in Sim objects, search and you will find it. Once you do, locate the aircraft cfg for that saved view, scroll all the way down to AXIS and Change the Z axis usually I have to add a "1" in front of the number. Save / go back in to the flight and press Alt1 or number you assigned for that view.
@@iamcanadian2121 Thank you, I'll dive into it once my 3 TVs come this week. Too bad the right side of the plane dashboard ends up on the right screen.
I have a second PC that runs the Motion Sim and also for Simplugins .it sends the info to the second pc and I have 3 monitors connected to it for the Gauges and GPS is a touch screen. simplugins.com/
@@bobinternationalvocalreact8025 I mean I understand standard HD for performance reasons, guess I would expect that a 3080 might be able to push higher than 30fps on 3xHD.. with the new DX12 and DLSS wondering if running 3x4k is feasible yet
@@jeffpriz I never try msfs 2020 for 3 screen but I will try this weekend. Im base on Xplane-11 , P3d, FSX for those games with I12900k + 3090 video card c 32 gig ram 1920x1080 between 30 and 42 in big city like KLAX, KSAN,KLGA other then that can reack 60 to 70 fps. Yes can see my setup on my RU-vid Channel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0xvWhzt2IuE.html
@@iamcanadian2121 It's clear in a Varjo. I have a console with vast number of buttons and controls and operate those fine in VR. What I think the multi-monitor looks like it needs is the ability to show the view without the aircraft frame, that would suit your set up much better. I'm glad they've got round to it though, options for everyone is how it should be. :)
@@iamcanadian2121 Finally!!!! After 2 years cant wait to have it available. But, can we hide the title bars of the 3 windows? What resolution are you using?
