You can find airlines and flight numbers for specific routes by searching them up on Google Flights. Plug in a route, select a flight and click on the down arrow to show more data. www.google.com/travel/flights Aircraft Tail Codes you can find on Airfleets, search for an airline and see which aircraft they have in service, both current and historic. www.airfleets.net/home/

The OFP produced looks very accurate. It uses LIDO - Lufthansa Integerated Dispatch Office. Which is used by many airlines including Qatar Airways and Etihad. I worked for Lufthans for twenty years and have handled the OFP everyday in my life. Brings back memories.

I had made a flight plan with longitude and latitude as my way points. A friend and I decided to make a plan to fly over some golf courses in are area to see how they look. When I import the flight plan , it’s adding a waypoint connecting the two airports along with the route. We planned out .. has anyone else noticed that ?

Second page, it will show your SID and STAR immediate after/before you departure and arrival runways.

Navigraph no, simBrief yes. On the FlyPad tablet you can input your simBrief username into the 'Company' page where you can then import and link your MCDU to simBrief.

When first loading it up just use the runways that Simbrief gives you. The ATC ingame will give you the proper runways, the departure one will most likely be correct, but your arrival might change due to change in weather. :) As for the ATC, it's quite rubbish tbh. What I do is to just use the "Taxi to runway for south/north/east/west departure", and then contact the tower for landing when available. Oh, small tip: When ATC give you runway 27R, it means that you'll have heading 270 and it's the right one of the runways, at that heading (When airport is directely in front of you). The opposite runway would be 09L (Heading 90, then Left runway). Good to know when the AP decide to act up :)

Heya, when i use Simbrief flight plan on the Aerosoft CRJ, many of the waypoints turn out as "not found" or "not in database", is that because the Airac is outdated, dont have a subscription with Navigraf??

Thank you for the video! There's a FS2020 file option now in simbrief, but loading the plan puts me on a runway ready to go. If I want to change the starting point in the MS flight planner to a gate (cold and dark) then the flight planner completely changes my route. Any insight appreciated :)

When you upload the flight plan, there is option called departure on top, you can change your position in airport to spawn to certain gate you like.

You've downloaded the older FSX flightplan format. There is a new one for MSFS.

Have you tried using SimToolKitPro? It combines multiple things like Simbrief, live maps, logbooks, approaches, wind calculations, etc. into a single free app.

You can use Google Flights to search for flight numbers and routes. www.google.com/flights Airfleets is used to find registrations of all aircraft owned by a particular airline. www.airfleets.net/home/

So usually listed under, Hpa (or) Inches/Hg. Usually we use Hector Pascals and the value for each region and airport is listed as QNH/ALTIMETER or directly as the values itself. Found in airport charts or the ATC (ATIS) will provide the same when they give you a sqwak during clearance delivery.

No, you can use an older AIRAC cycle which is just as good as the current. Very few waypoints change per cycle.

Great tutorial on using Simbrief. The only question I have is the about first 2 steps. Air line info and flight number. I guess if I fly BA then BA is the airline - but if your flight is a real one have you looked the info up - where do you go to get this info? From a google search I see there are a few sites to choose from. Cheers

That means 'direct'. There is no airway, you just add the next waypoint.

SIDS and STARS are automatically generated by simBrief. If your departure/arrival had them, they will be the second and penultimate node on the flightplan.

On this occasion AY is the IATA code for Finnair which was originally known as Aero O/Y when it first formed. Depending on the airline you fly you use their IATA code.

Airfleets is good for registration codes, callsigns are just the airline ICAO code (found on Wikipedia) plus the flight number. www.airfleets.net/home/

But creating an account requires a Navigraph account, which requires active subscription, is it correct? So this is essentially a paid app, might be worth noting in the video.

simBrief is free. It now requires a Navigraph account (that changed quite recently when Navigraph bought it) but you do not need a subscription to access simBrief. It's still free to access.

You don't need to be a pilot to look up flight numbers on Google.

Registrations are aircraft specific, you can find them all on Airfleets. www.airfleets.net/home/ Flight numbers are route-specific, search a route on Google Flights and you'll find them. www.google.com/travel/flights

SIDS and STARS are the second and penultiamte node, after and before the departing and arriving runway. If you don't have one, it will show as 'DCT; or Direct.

The in-game route planner automatically adds your route to the FMS meaning you can skip that step. simBrief lets you manually plug in a route, allowing for a more authentic experience.

There is no Company Route support yet, that'll come down to simBrief adding the format. You can however skip the waypoint setup and use the simulator menu to plan flight legs.

Airways are five characters long and only consist of letters. Airports you overfly are IATA three letter codes no numbers while airways are a mix of three numbers and letters.

Fin number doesn't matter, it has no effect on the aircraft. It's a unique identifier given to the aircraft during construction.

I did three tutorials alongside this for the A320, 787 and 747 where I do just that using this very plan!

@@Drawyah Maybe I was not that clear. I meant the data to put into simbrief to generate the flightplan, not what to put into the FMC. I figured it out through the comment section tho. I'm also aware of the airplane specific tuts you made, and they are really helpful. Good stuff!

Yes, simBrief is free to use. You just now need a Navigraph account to use it.

I wish the game added airport layouts. Trying to find layouts of airports is a pain as finding it hard to find the correct taxi ways

Airport layouts are the same as real life, ground maps are available on a variety of chart sources.

It's good, isn't it? simBrief have managed to create an almost 1 to 1 replica of the entire document, all with just a few variables to post everything!

@@Drawyah Yeah its decent for you guys 🤣, I have to put up with all the technical problems and stuff. Madness. It's quite a decent system to use, But mad when we have like 2500+ flights on daily basis 🤣
