If you were looking for the sweet spot between the MSI Titan GT75 and MSI GS65, this may be right on the money.
We have the 17.3” 144hz screen of the GT with a much thinner and lighter profile more comparable with the GS65. It will really come down to if you prefer the 15.6” size of the GS65 series or the larger 17.3” form factor of the GE75 as both have benefits.
With that said, in addition to the high performance screen we have the 8th generation Core i7 and the full blown RTX 2080 in this laptop making it quite capable to handle any tasks you choose to throw at it.

I own a MSI GE75 Raider-048 8sg notebook. I face issues with the a frame drops especially getting capped on 48fps on all games. I've tried the followings and still stuck at a capped 48fps. - Disable the battery boost in Nvidia Experience. - Select on any game on Nvidia Control Panel with ""High-performance NVIDIA processor"" - Enforce disabling V-Sync and Anti-Aliasing. - Disabling any recording tool. - Putting everything on maximum performance "SPORT" mode on msi dragon gaming center application. Your utmost support is critically needed to get above 60fps. I used to have 250fps on TRINE 4, but now it's stuck on 48fps.

Loved the review, for some odd reason major youtube creators arent reviewing the GE75 2070/2080 just the Max Q slim models. And alot of people are hating that they are 1080p displays. I recently bought the GE75 w/ 2070 but it was $1999 ($300 off) at Microcenter. I bought it to not only cause I travel alot, but it has mini DisplayPort 1.2 which is perfect for my 34" UltraWide 1080p 75hz monitor when I'm home. I will be replacing that monitor for a Ultrawide 1440p monitor 75hz. Which the 2070 in the GE75 will definitely take advantage of. So basically if you just want 1080p gaming only on the laptop itself. Buy a 10 series model. But if you have extra cash and an at home external gaming monitor this is definitely up your alley.

Justin Cox Excatly this model is it the Max-q model which performs better than 10series I still have my Asus 1070 Max P version and I use a 2k 144hz display when I’m at home and I love it I don’t need extra few frames just to keep up with times 1070 going to last me till next generation and gaming at 2k is fine

I'd say the only turn off for me is those hinges, I would much prefer the long bar in the middle than the two little ticks at the end, as they put more stress on the screen and the screen casing as you flip the screen up and down. GREAT review though!

Good review, but you missed a big point. Even during 1 cinebench and firestrike run the laptop throttled to 2.8ghz, which is one of the worst results for an 8750h laptop.

Really tempted to go for 17 inch laptop from my gs60, but worried about mobility I move my laptop around 15 times a month, not much carrying mostly in my car. I move a whole backpack with all my hear headphones mouse xbox controller charger and many more things.

Would you recommend this laptop over the GS75? If you putting them side by side same RTX card. I know the GS has the Max-Q, but aside from that, they are pretty close, well size to. Very close to buying a new laptop, and it is a toss up. Also I won't be travelling to much with either laptop, so that's not a factor either. TY and loved the vid.

GS75 is more of a premium segment. If you want that, then go for it. 2070 Max Q is much worse than simple laptop RTX 2070. So expect at least 20% more power from this machine in compare with GS75

@@peqbox Hey, I have owned the GE75 now for about a week. So far I am very happy, with it. I have noticed tho that with the single ram stick, I'm not getting the frames I should be. So a second stick will be something you will need. Aside from that, I'm loving it. Oh and delete all the stupid games and crap that is pre loaded

@@othmaneaouioued8768 yes I saw that review but its just separator not really heat shield or if it is, doesn't look like it will fully shield the battery from heat radiation. The reason im concerned about this is because my RBP 2017 had bloated batteries considering its placed away from heat spreaders. Looking at this as prospective upgrade but this batteries have me worried.

how did MSI managed to put a 150 watt card into such thin chassis? Cutting the TDP down, no doubt. According to benchmarks I've seen of this it isn't much faster than max q 1070, which by itself is barely faster than a normal laptop 2060. Who is MSI trying to fool here? I'm very skeptical about this, considering that some of MSI laptops which come with 2070 are even thicker than this one

I feel as though the i7 8750H was one of the most abominable chips ever created. The chassis even being that much thicker seems to make no difference with cooling, which means either LM repaste, insane external cooling or some other form of thermally admitting coolness to the chip is the only way to stop this chip sustaining high temps.

yea need a die shrink for better thermals. 7nm or 10nm should help with temps, though i get the feeling they are waiting for a die shrink to shove in the intel 8 core 9th gen which would neglect the cooler temps with a 6 core. -_-

CPU and GPU are both soldered. You can only upgrade storage and wifi with this setup but anyway if you got 2080 card in it theres no meed to worry just buy a new laptop as mxm are expensive its like buying a new laptop at most.

Specially DGFF is proprietary that means making it more expensive if im wrong and its same price as MXM counterpart then the logic behind stays the same. Just sell your laptop and bought a new one for example if you brought area51m for 5k sell it for half the price and buy a new one after couple of years thats gonna be like 2500 + 2500 = bnew laptop (more advance more efficient) where as 5k area51m as off the moment spend another 1500 or so for new card take out the degradation value you might have 2500 + 1500 + cpu( probably) therefore the difference is keep upgrading your laptop and save like 500 to 1k or buy a new one spending 500 or 1k after 3 years atmost. So what makes more sense?

There are stats all over and i even tested it myself with a friend of mine who owns a laptop with a GTX1080. We ran benchmarks and got the results

If you are considering getting gs75, I would go for the full 2060 -version. That's pretty similar to 2070 max-q performance wise, it actually runs some games with more fps.

He said full 2080 though I think catch somewhere that its 150watt card and as far as I know 2080 is somewhere 180 to 190 watts plus adapter is 280 watts only so I think its a toned down version. I hope someone could shed light to this.

Surprised there is no Turbo mode for this laptop in Dragon Center. It is present on my GE73 with a 1070 I bought from you guys. I guess it is because of only having a 280w power supply? Also can't believe that you have to remove the heat pipes to install a second nvme drive....dumb!!!

Mine GE75 2080 is HID’d, LM repaste CPU/GPU, 2xgb ram, 1tb samsung evo 970. 21k firestrike, 9900 timespy. Cpu and gpu run at high 60’s low 70’s full load, amazing laptop.

I got this laptop few days ago and I’m very disappointed. I ran the Time Spy and got only around 9500 graphic score. Ghost recon wildland only have 48fps on average with highest settings on 1080p. Assassin’s creed odyssey 40fps and shadow of the tomb raider 61 fps. This is just a gtx 1070 performance. What’s wrong with this laptop?

Mengqiao Yang Thermal throttling. Out of the box the components of this laptop can't perform at their best, you' re supposed to repaste and improve the cooling yourself. Without repasting, all you can do is undervolt that hot, not so well manufactured cpu. Also you might want to ditch the hdd and get an ssd, to improve temps a little

GE75 is running a full RTX 2080 and it requires a 280 watt power brick GS 75 I believe is running a RTX 2070 Max Q and it needs a 230 watt power brick as well

bro i upgraded to this laptop from my previous gt72 7re with gtx1070( non max q)...its more than 50 percent faster in many games..eg anthem,bf v,metro...but in ac odyssey the difference was 30 percent..the difference is less if u compare gtx1080 vs rtx2080..but if u compare with gtx1070 max q its a lot faster

@@vivekgautam6237 AC Odyssey is my performance meter its like the new witcher 3. Can you tell me how much fps are you getting ? And also what are the temps? AC odyssey is very demanding in both CPU and GPU.

@@ejsanjose3608 i tested through the in built benchmark tool..got 62fps with everything maxed out in graphics

@@ejsanjose3608 cpu temp was around 88 to 90 degrees..gpu temp was static at 72 max

@@vivekgautam6237 thanks for letting me know buddy. Though i own 3 laptop in the past with Gtx 1080 it falls it 60ish fps. For a 2080 class laptop thats kinda low or I can be wrong never had any RTX gpu yet but as per traditional means 2080 should surpassed 1080 not to be on par. I suspect its thermal throttling on cpu plus possibility of power limit throttle.
