Thanks! I just bought the 4070 version of this laptop from COSTCO. I don't need the expense of the 4090 and I only run one favorite game (Empyrion).. I had a GE77 earlier and it died due to excessive heat.. I bought a cooling fan base for this new one. I am a fan of MSI so this should be a great laptop.. Thanks for the honest reviews.

All good, 5 days testing it. My disappointment is the battery in games, it only gives me 1:15 minutes with the DHR at medium quality😒. And with videos on RU-vid it only gives me 3:50 with the lowest configuration
Wow 13 yrs ago geez this is old old. So 13 yrs ago there wasn’t VR. It’s a beautiful design in all but I should do research from now on all over again. It was pretty cheap I shoulda found out why lol. Ima still try.
@@GenTechPC hurray ! did you replaced your gpu ? i replaced mine in 2020... it was the GTX 780M right after Nvidia stopped support Geforce drivers in 2019, how strange it is..., the GPU fails. Also replaced the battery, both find on aliexpress, a genieune GTX 780M and compatible battery with the hybrid power support. Other than that. A rock solid piece of hardware !
@@GenTechPCI have the same model Msi gt70 one i7 3630 16gb ram gtx680m 4gb Gddr5 256bit my laptop has issues in window 10 or 8 it's getting shutdown.... In window 7 home p.. it's fine .. while gaming it's shuttering a lot .. then I try to check CPU stress prime95 laptop shutdown when I on it.. on battery and on power ... When I check Furmark or ungine heaven gpu stress then also laptop shutdown itself.... I think it's gpu issue or cpu ? What do you think? It's can't play any games from 2002 to 2009 .. I try many all are shuttering while play.. I try all software and drivers.. even uninstall gpu and disabled it still same issue ... I clean the whole laptop fan gpu rams CPU Mobo still same issue ... In window 10 or 8 when turn on laptop on battery after window screen getting shutdown and on window 7 it's fine ... If use any game or something also shutdown ..when connect with power plugged then not shutdown while gaming but shuttering a lot even gpu temp are normal.. I bought a week ago at 300$ ... It doesn't work .. I thought it will play some old games but it not
I seen a 24TB version of that on Amazon going for $10,281 USD. That’s as expensive as laptops can get these days. Definitely a beautiful laptop with a state of the art displays.
@@92OnTV I've had the 40 series 4090 gpu since release Fall of 2022. 50 series is set to release this fall. But with DLSS Frame Generation Future Proofing the GPU and having Asus 540hz TN Panel . I'll be sticking my current build for this upcoming next generation . Interested to see the new TECHNOLOGY that will be implemented with the 50 series
Our unit was out of the box settings with no modifications. However, the paste job on Asus factory was done by machine and not every units are equal, some paste job could be messy.
I only need an 18-inch 4K screen. As for the keyboard and touchpad, I don’t have much demand, so I chose raider18hx. It reduces the heat dissipation of the vapor chamber and the power consumption of 20w. Of course, the price is much cheaper. It is higher than GE78HX and lower than TAITAN18HX. It is a better choice.
Raider 18 is actually a Titan 18 and the chassis are exactly the same but with much lower price. The only real difference is the keyboard and touchpad.
If i replace the liquid metal with normal thermal paste will the temperatures be lower? Because the new Ryzen 9 with 3D is using thermal past and it runs like 20 Celsius cooler while being more powerful.
LM are still superior to any other pastes, it's just that factory LM paste by Asus are by machines, it could be messy and not to the optimal performance, hand-paste with LM are much better.
Thank you for your video! Itried to install 192GB RAM (4x48Gb DDR5-5600 Crucial) to my MSI Titan 18 today. The all planks are visidble in BIOS but when the laptop is about to start Windows it stucs. Could anyone advice if there is any approach how to make it works? I tried to start with one or two planks but no luck. The BIOS is the latest. Thanks.
finally, the only review I've found showcasing the fan noise ON CAMERA! Thank you! Considering a System76 with this processor and wanted to get an idea of how loud it can get. Seems reasonable.
It's because of initial shipment of the Titan 18 HX, very common with MSI that BIOS are not optimized and it's thinking it's running on battery mode, we will test it again with latest BIOS again and posted on RU-vid.
