The "First" fully accidental performance fix just shows how simply complex these things are now, with so many nuances that the general consumer doesn't know about...
why should we know stuff, you just shut up and buy the most expensive thing with shiny marketing. then 2 years later toss the lot and buy a new one like they want you to
I mean even my barely tech literate 68 year old grandfather knows to go to the BIOS on his PC if something abnormal happens with performance, it's literally three button clicks to fix dude lol
It's good that loading optimised defaults fixed the 25W tdp lock. Unfortunately this wasn't the case for older models, 2019 GF63 and 65 model also suffers from same behaviour. It will boost to 35W for few seconds and gets back home to 25W. Only way to fix it was installing custom firmware which someone modded and posted on msi forums. But I did not install it, instead I mailed MSI regarding this. They asked benchmark report of cinebench which was generated by hwinfo64 that showed 35W for few seconds then 25W throughout. A weird behaviour I found, when I disabled dedicated gpu ( nvidia 1650 mq in my case ), CPU was behaving normally. I think they have deliberately did this in 2019 model because 2018 one with 1050 and 1050ti was absolute clusterfuck with both CPU and GPU thermal throttling as 1050ti was 75W gpu. But 1650 mq only consumes 35W. Okay, so I also sent MSI that msi forum link and some reddit posts for further proof and they sent me their "own" firmware which I feel they sent the same as that guy. I am not sure. After installing that, CPU was behaving normally. It runs at 45W when it requires but as it goes above 90C, I have locked it at 35W max with CPU clock down to 3.6ghz and 3.2 in summers. Now it sustains at whatever CPU clock I set in ThrottleStop. I have seen some 10th gen intel models that runs normally so I think they removed this TDP lock.
@@gtx1650max-q Hey Bro I have the msi gf63 thin 10scxr with the i7-10750h intel cpu but my tdp is always locked at 25W while gaming and when the GPU is disabled or not in use like u described it works completely fine I would love to know how you contacted msi's support
@@eelevategaming5753 Hi Sorry, I have turned off the replies. This video kinda recommended back to me again. I contacted them through their online ticket support. You can go to their website, login and create a ticket under your heading issue.
What about resetting ec ? ,because i once trying to oc ram in the bios and my laptop got black screen then i reset the ec and the bios setting got resetted ,but i dont know is the setting got resetted like the first laptop came in or not. i also got msi gf63 that prosesor power stuck on 25w whenever the gpu nvidia active, when i disable nvidia from device manager ,the prosesor can go to 45w stable i dont know why but msi seems to limit the cpu to 25w when gpu nvidia is active but my laptop spec is different from yours,i got i5 10500h and rtx 3050
I feel a little bit scared and terrified because im just buying this product and i feel a little regret :( What should i do now? Sell it and buy another one?
@KaranSharma-sf4vz is pretty good, but don't expect too much about this product. If you only use this product for Microsoft Word, or Excel and sometimes play light games then it shouldn't be a problem
@@KaranSharma-sf4vz i was testing on AAA games without undervolt and using coolingpads, the temp is 80 - 85 celc, also i got a consistent frame. Luckily after 5 month of use i still not encounter any weird issue
@@syhzv1034 well already tested on some AAA games liek AC, resident evil, also heavy moded skyrim and fallout 4 and lucky i dont have any issue , i hope so
I just got this laptop on an unbeatable deal. I couldn't run valorant. I found this videoa. I read the bios and saw f9 reset to optimised performance. I am going to run valorant again.
I have the same and I did what he did and it didn’t help and when I got to display settings it says connected to intel uhd and not 4050 gpu can someone help
Hey Jarrod, maybe make review of Asus Tuf Dash F15 2022, it got upgraded with new processor and design. It's one of the few laptops that offer gaming cooled RTX 3050 gpu with aluminum lid. If it's not the only one :D
Hello i have msi gf63 12vf which has i5 12th gen and RTX 4060 8GB. The problem is ingame fps. My valorant only got 140-170 fps , Dota 120 fps , Apex 90-140 fps and CS2 110 fps. I tried most of the thing from youtube , i tried low graphic settings. whatever i try , i cant get more fps and it has the same performance as my old desktop. Help me
The fuck are you talking about dude it's barely hotter and laptop components are always hotter than desktop ones aka this is completely normal and fine
