@@MaestroReal i have game pass so I play all of those, BL3, minecraft, Civ 6, etc. I have never had a FPS under 100 on the very best ultra settings of any game. I mean come on, it has an I-9 cpu, 64Gb ram & a RTX 2080. At this time you are not going to get much better than that in a laptop for gaming. It also has it all the newest 3.2 Gen 2 usb's and a thunderbolt port.

I absolutely love my GS66. I do have to repaste. You’re right, the thermals aren’t great. And they did a crap job of pasting it. It’s huge portions on the cpu and gpu and surrounding area. But overall I love it.

Francisco Ortiz so it didn’t really change too much in stress test. However I was able to undervolt it and repaste, and it didn’t thermal throttle. AT LEAST. Temperature wise is the same. But now I’m trying to figure out how to undervolt a gpu

My 4 years old GS60 970M is working fine. Most laptops will get very warm while playing but nothing deal breaking. My new GS66 I don't know but on safe side I have lowest config with RTX 2060 :) I only heard overheating is present with 2080 GPUs because is so beefy powerfull unit there is no cooling on earth that will suck all heat.

So wutcha think, is MSI back in the game? I think that while a 300Hz display might be a tad overkill for this config, you can always connect to an eGPU via the Thunderbolt 3 port and go balls to the wall to hit that 300 FPS mark...that'd be pretty sweet!

My friend recently bought one and even after tweaking the audio with the MSI software the sound quality is crap, really bad! It's like an old radio, we were shocked you and other reviewers don't mention this. Or maybe he got a faulty unit? I can't believe is so bad... we were very disappointed, :(

Just ran into your reviews while researching msi laptops. Very open and honest assessments! Have a question for anyone : I want to get a great performing laptop to DJ with. I figured gaming laptops would help because it can handle heavy loads. I need high RAM (32 preferably), at least 512gb to 1tb storage, 15 to 17 inch display that is really crisp, and refresh rate to handle everything that happens while mixing. I have a pretty intense set up so being able to process all of it is a must. Can't afford lag. Down side is all the msi's have a lot of what I want, but always great about the heat issues and weird port positions. Any suggestions on a really really solid high performing laptop that cost about $2000? Thank you!

Razer blade 15 advanced uses a i7 8 core while the top end msi gs66 uses a i9 8 core.and still slightly cheaper than the razer 15 advanced

@@user-vj4yw4so8c well I picked Razer Blade 15 with a little bit advanced specs. RTX 2070 max-q, i7 9th gen, 240Hz. It is great so far. Especially in temperatures. The maximum I've seen is 86 while I was playing COD Warzone having the laptop in my lap(in gaming mode). When fans are maxed out in balanced mode. The max I've seen is 76. It gets really hot externally but nothing near uncomfortable while using it on a table.

I preordered the GS66 039 SKU (10750H, RTX 2060, 16*1 16GB RAM, 512MB SSD & 240Hz display) on amazon through XOTIC PC. I wanted the chassis and specs mostly for Photoshop, Lightroom and occasional high FPS gaming (non competitive). The GS6 044 SKU has 144Hz IPS-level panel with dual channel 8GB*2 16GB configuration. Best Buy is the only retailer listing the 044 144Hz IPS panel and no estimated delivery date. It’s not too late for me to cancel my preorder. Is it worth switching? Does anyone know if the brightness and color accuracy between the two displays is crucial for what I’m going to use it for?
