“Not exactly light”???!! What is your definition of light? Dude its under 5lbs on a 17inch laptop!!!! This thing is ridiculously light! Sounds to me like you need to do some more pull ups and push ups.
@@adamek9750 Good point but I meant laptops rather than dedicated gaming laptops. Everything being reviewed is £1300 to £3k. I just want something I can carry around and do work on and hook up to a monitor and play a low demand game on occasionally, Left for Dead or Half Life. If I was going to play modern games I would just get a console. If I was going to game seriously on a pc I would get a tower pc.
@@Thetechchap The average price for the last 9 laptop reviews is £1750. Love the channel but would like a few more real world laptops to be reviewed. Remember I love the channel.
Wesley Williams Everyone has a different opinion. For me, the Blade has more attention to detail and battery life. It’s more compact too. IMO the Stealth line has always come second in terms of quality. It’s still good, but with these prices I’d take the blade 15 no questions. I think the 2080 is overpriced for most people anyways though.
*-Cooling could be better. -RTX 2080 is no joke in such a light and thin machine. -Build quality was bad in the last gen model. Now it's fixed somewhat, but still not upto the mark. - Higher resolution is good but it comes at a cost of much lower performance. For a gaming laptop, 1080p is absolutely just fine in this. Overall a fantastic machine but $3000 is........🙄*
So I was about to get this with the RTX 2060 (cheaper one of the bunch) $2.099 USD. I did find a MSI GS73 Stealth with GTX 1070 max Q for $1.700, I assume my best bet would be to go with this? Any other recommendations are welcome!!
This is by far the best review of MSI GS75 stealth.. Including gameplay of bf5,pubg,apex truly showed the capability of this machine in full glory. You deserve way more views.
1440P would be great. And ditch that num pad. I would upgrade maybe from my GS65 1070. While numpads are great on regular rig keyboards, they feel weird in laptops because you're not typing from the center.
@@karthikmurali6012 I would not mind dropping some gaming FPS as long as it stays above 60 FPS. Problem with 1080P is it looks like crap especially on a 17" when you want to use the laptop for productivity. So for me there's no way I would use a 1080P gaming laptop for work. That's why I've both a Macbook Pro and a gaming laptop. Make that 2080 laptop 1440p and we're in business.
All of these laptop manufacturers are waiting on the screen fabricators to make higher res screens such as 1440p with these thin bezels. Alienware has stated that the only reason why the new Area 51-M with a full desktop 2080 is coming with 1080p 144hz screen is due to those being the only screens available to work with the thin bezel design. Other screens will be coming later in the year.
Not so long ago they released the GS75 with GTX 1660 ti. I bought that one when it was discounted. This has literally 10fps less with AAA titles on ultra compared to the RTX 2060. Much better value.
@M M Don't spread false information lil nikka. I still have my msi gs70 2qe from late 2014 970m and still fine today. I also have aorus x7pro 970m sli 6820hk and all my shit still works today
@M M you are wrong. I own 4.5 years old gaming laptop with gtx 960M. I've been playing all big title games since. Now, I'm Still getting solid 60 fps in Battlefield 5.
I wish backpack manufacturers would update their designs for 17” laptops. That would be difficult to carry around in most these days as, too much space is often available for thickness. A $3k laptop needs to be secure and with corner support.
Watching on my own GS75. the screen lid does not wiggle like that at 2:34, the 2080 max Q version develops WAY more heat. You are better off with the 2070 max Q. its strong and the heat is minimum. my fans barely kick on unless i push Resident Evil 2 remake. Plus I had $2399.99 to spare. lol
Been thinking of getting a gaming laptop I don't need anymore then 60 fps plus I can do anything I want on it. Of course I have to plug it in to game probably but when watching RU-vid and stuff will be heartwarming.
I am disappointed by the price tag too... I planned to buy this laptop with RTX 2080 MaxQ but now my budget can only get the RTX 2070 MaxQ. I would wait a little bit more to see if the price drops...
Wow, I have the older on msi65vr with an 8th gen i7 hexacore and 1060 6gb and I'm very happy with it for gaming video editing and everything else you throw at it. Yes, it doesn't utilize the full 144hz in apex legends on low settings or other titles but in many other games it performs very well!!
This is currently the best laptop that $3000 (USD) can buy!! The new Asus Zephyrus is a few hundred dollars more, has a horrible keyboard layout (which is inexcusable) and no built-in webcam. That’s why this laptop destroys the Zephyrus as well!!
There is 0 screen wobble on the Blade. I played with the GS65 at BestBuy and thought it and felt cheap overall and the keyboard adds to that. But to each their own, just my opinion.
Builds are actually getting better and better, aswell as cheaper , I built mine due to laptops being pricy and plus I wanted a desktop since I wanted the whole PC gaming experience
It's a trade off some people are willing to make for the lighter weight. As long as the hinge holds up over time I don't mind flex in my laptops since I don't abuse them.
Honestly might buy this though. I work outside of the home (travel) and am typically gone the same if not more amount of time then I spend at home so laptops are really all I can have so looking more into a desktop replacement since it's pointless for me to have both.
I will just stick with my GE73 Raider with i7 8750H pasted with liquid metal, full 1070 pasted with liquid metal, Fujipoly thernal pads on VRM's, 32GB RAM, 120hz, hand picked for minimal light bleed , and calibrated screen that cost only $2600.00 back in September.
So put the hottest fastest parts in a laptop then make the laptop as thin as possible leaving no room proper cooling have alot of throttling and then you left thinking why did I spend all that money?!?!
Couple of years late to the game, but ordered one this morning. Obviously a couple generations new 10750H vs the 8750H, but still RTX 20-series graphics. Given the state of GPUs from the time you reviewed this to 2021 ... gaming laptops have become the new best option for anyone who wants to do a little gaming and have a system that can also handle some Premiere Pro work without locking up entirely. Obviously MSi liked this design ... because it hasn't changed a bit. Just wish the RAM wasn't buried on the flip side of the motherboard. Oh well, at least it's not soldered!!
I work mainly on the road... I have a half decent small form desktop with a 1070 that I used to take with me. But hotels dont have a 144hz monitor in them. So I'm def on the market for the 2070 for $2300
Awesome review! For that amount of money, better buy AERO 15-Y9 or X9 with 4k dispaly. I hope in Sep/Oct there will be RTX laptops from Asus and MSI with 4k. I need it for video editing
When he talked about the price "guess how much it costs" and when he said 3400$ (and it's even cheaper in many countries), I wasn't sure if he thought it's cheap since there are more expensive laptops that do not perform as good and for sure not better. 32 GB RAM, RTX2080, i9, 512 PCIe SSD and all... desktop like that if we include monitor, keyboard and all that comes with laptop wouldn't be much/any cheaper than that. This is normal price for this overkill of specs, and no one makes cheaper laptop of same config?
The Tech Chap oh I didn't catch that, my bad! I really hope whenever you got, you should talk and the triton 500. It's really hard to find a video on it. And have you seen the LG 34GK950F-B? There are hardly any videos on it yet it's the best ultrawide so far. Anyways hope you have a great day!
I got a gs65 too and love it. Rtx is not a huge thing really. In the next following years maybe a upgrade would be nice, but right now it's just hype por reflexions.
Oh sorry but i got another question. is the normal RTX2080 WAY better then the Max-Q version or just slightly better? And is it more practical to own a Max-Q for the heat and power issue or just get a normal RTX2080 for better graphics?
The laptop is Asus Zephyrus GX531 but i think they all come on RTX2080 Max-Q. I just wanna know because my friends sister is selling one for cheap lol.
Price is perfect. For someone who actually does research, this machine is well priced. Easily comparable to any Razer laptop, as well as any other brand this is the best on the market
I feel like a 2080 Max-Q is probably pretty CPU bottlenecked when it comes to framerates at 1080p. Because it's only performing marginally better than my Aero 15X with GTX 1070 Max-Q graphics. I'd definitely be interested in seeing what framerates you would get at 1440P or 4K when connected through the display port.
Lots of good 10 series laptops out there with 2/3 or 1/2 the prices of the rtx ones. I'd recommend those or with these types of prices, u can build a 9900k + 2080ti (which is overkill below 4k gaming)
2080 max-q is more like a 2060. If you want the full laptop 2080, take a look at the GE75 raider. It costs the same. You are paying for those gold accents
why clickbait 2080 yet its a max q....Maybe its me but i hate maxq laptops.. paying 3000$ for a an undervolted laptop that is nowhere near the Original 2080
Hello ! I would greatly appreciate help with choosing between these 2 (omen is 280€ cheaper): MSI GE75 9SG : i7 9750H - RTX 2080 - 1To SSD - 16gb RAM HP Omen 17" : i7 9750H - RTX 2080 - 512gb SSD - 8gb RAM (will upgrade to 16) My only criteria is perfomance over time/cooling. I will use an external monitor with Gsync and 144hz with it. Which one is better built / gives more performance ? Thank you
All I can think is for half that money I could build a small enough case to carry in one hand and the monitor in the other which is easy enough and get better performance.....Seems super niche and Im surprised they sell enough of them to keep making them
And a backpack for the cables, keyboard, mouse, mat, powerbar? There's also that weirdo in laptop review who has a comment about a tower. a desktop 2080 Alone is almost a thousand bucks.
ok so a second case for the monitor and accessories, my point is its easy enough to move and forget the 2080, a 1080Ti is still the way to go unless your a baller in which case just buy this laptop.
p970en 17" from clevo with 2300Euro/2600$ is better or p960en(16.1") for 2080MQ and 8750H pricing laptop. p960en: Width: 38 cm /Length: 25.2 cm/Height: 1.99 cm/Unpacked weight: 2:09 Kg P970en:Width: 39.86 cm/Length: 26.8 cm/Height: 1.99 cm/Weight without packaging: 2.5 Kg
I have the gs65. Its amazing, i love this thing. The new gs75 looks amazing too but for now i think, like you said in the video, the gs65 is the better bet. You dont get much of a performance difference between the two, at least for now(money wise).
Nice video man! The new GS65 and GS75 use a wider touchpad and I am worried: will your right palm accidentally triggered the touchpad while typing? Is there enough space for the right hand to rest?
I wish the keyboard was not like a regular PC .... I have an Asus ROG, and I really like the non symmetric keyboard. If I'm buying a gamer laptop, I'm evidently not interested in Apple nor Microsoft products.
