From someone who started off with a crawler the mst rmx 2.5 was my 2nd vehicle and I love it, the learning curve is soo fun and once it clicks it's soo satisfying

I love my MST RMX RTR, it's definately an amazing way to get started in drifting. The out of the box tires were great for doing vinyl floor drifting ice dance style. So much fun :D
I love that one battery is easily 2 hours of driving when you drift! One nice thing is the ESC is a HobbyWing inside so it follows the same programming system and uses the same programming card.
hundreds of laps in my garage on my 2.0, finally put some steering links to correct the uneven toe in the front and its been super reliable and so much fun to learn on just charge and go
Great review! I've been looking at these for a bit. The RDS kinda caught my eye, but then my local hobby shop, and the drifters that hang out there said the MST 2.5 was a better model.

I have no drift track within 150 miles radius sadly. So, I tried a Redcat rtr on asphalt and it was a joke. Been using m2c drift hard rubber tires (get 15-20packs per $100 set) on my arrma infraction, felony and limitless 6S/8S rigs. Supposed to be for bashing or speed running but I’ve found they make unreal drift cars on any surface.
I was bummed I just picked this same one from the Hobby shop for $399 I was thinking O was getting the cool blue body but came clear oh well guess I will just have fun painting it.
Is there anything special to drifting with that ESC? Or would any good sensorless brushless setup work well...? I'm deciding if I should get the brushed or brushless version, if I'm likely going to want to upgrade it I might save and get the brushed version, but if the BL rtr is OK put of the box, and won't need an immediate upgrade, I will just get that and keep it stock.
Great video. Not sure it is a proper RTR, the body should be painted and completely cut out, odd the front wheels weren't on either. They do make great products though I think they just need to focus more on stock instead of releasing so many different models
Ah yes, great point about the body not being RTR. That never even dawned on me. This seems to be the only body where they offer it unpainted in their huge selection.
The RDS is not entry level to me…where as the MST is. The MST out the box is good but dont let the redcat go just yet. It has some key features that make the MST fall on it’s face
