What I admire the most in this game is its music. The music was perfectly crafted off a synthesizer ONLY. Can you imagine?! If this music is rearranged by today's hybrid orchestral sample libraries, it will sound just AMAZING! Each level has its own music mood. This game was dangerous and breathtaking. Take a listen to "Plane Selection" music 3:30 and you will know what I am talking about :) And this dude know how to play this game lol
Extended theme from Gradius II (Famicom). I like this theme as well. But mostly adore the evolution of "Poison of A Snake" theme from Salamander through years and decades of Konami's whole Gradius legacy.
@@Nestalgba92023 Don't see how its a port as only the first stage has anything in common with Gradius 2 aside from the walker late in the game and Gopher at the end.
Some of the tracks of this era were remixed for ReBirth. I think there can be remakes of all the specific MSX games as part of a compilation release. These are covering separate events to the Gradius games and the official "Bacterian Wars" events according to the official chronology. Bringing this game in particular back into a new, modernized format a la ReBirth would work wonders. If nothing else, it would bring forward these legendary albeit ruthless games so that they can be far more accessible but still suitably challenging.
Oddly in a roundabout way, this game was kinda remade under gradius V, same plot beats along with how the options can be selected for formation as well.
I agree. Nemesis 3 has some of the best music ever created in the Gradius series. Several of the songs were remixed for the Nintendo Wii's Gradius Rebirth game.
IF someone is wondering why this sounds so good, its cause of the custom konami sound chip called SSC which was in games like Contra and Kings Valley 2 also.
Neat to see the whole MSX time line in the intro, but there is another. Gradius Rebirth for Wii takes place in the year 6664, two years before Nemesis 2. It features James Burton fighting the Bacterians in the Vic Viper developed by Dr. Venom, and in the end Venom's plans for a coup are discovered and he is exiled, setting up the events of Nemesis 2. The game even ends with a "To be continued" but unfortunately Gradius/Nemesis 2 never got the Rebirth treatment. But it was still neat to see a new game in the MSX timeline
@Rooflesoft Games 16 and 32-bit games still had amazing soundtracks. Sonic 1-2-3, Sonic 3D Blast, Yoshi's Island, Doom, Street Fighter II and Alpha, etc
What exactly i like in a plot of the Nemesis 3 is a Terminator 2 refferens with time-scapes. And oh wait. The game been developed in 1988. Cameron played Nemesis 3? :0
God, the collision detection in this is so fucking frustrating... seems like you need far more precision to kill an enemy than an enemy needs to kill you! I don't think I've encountered it so bad in any of the other MSX Gradius/Nemesis/.Parodius/Salamander titles, nor in the SNES, NES, arcade titles. The soundtrack is amazing though, it truly is. :D
Holy fuck, went back to play the MSX Parodius title, I shit you not, the Vic Viper and an enemy were barely close to having their corners touch, and it counted as a collision. ~____~ I shit you not, it DOES feel like there is some sort of invisible grid at work, but with wonky qualifications as to what counts as colliding. This is the kind of game that will take even the most calm, and even the most "hurrdurr don't get mad at a game" type, and just make them throw their keyboard out the window.
Lo tube con 10anos k juegazo nunca m lo pase solo tenía 2 mapas siempre m falto 1. Y hoy viendo el video e podido ver el final... Que juegazo para el año 88
back when i was a kid me and my 2 older brother used to compete for the highest score on this game, i still have MSX AX-370 with 20 konami games but this was by far my favorite next to metal gear solid 2 and Knightmare,
i found my MSX with all my games i plugged it into my Old sony TV, i can't believe how hard this game is LOL, i even tried Metal gear solid and it was just as hard, no wounder Knomai put cheat code on their games
There are these small glitches in the audio, which would suggest emulator save/restores during play and video edits afterwards. E.g., bg music glitch at 15:40. And the sound fx after getting new weapon at 7:35 is also totally glitched (at 14:37 it's as it should be). But this game is insanely hard.
@@TheRoadtoRugbyFitness The Ship youre Controling in the game is the Vixen, you dont control the vic viper anymore, only in nemesis 1,Game Boy,and Nemesis 2 for the game boy
