"Alright, we're on the draw with a... [hovers over Solid Footing]... solid hand" Would've given my like right here if I didn't already like every LegenVD video right at the start
LegenVD is that perfect combo of Jank and competitive. The embodiment of winning while maintaining creativity. Hands down my favorite MTG content creator. This is what magic should be.
At first I was like “why not blahblahblah “ and then “oh!!! It’s standard!” Great brewing. Love how you only play viable jank decks. (Though I would def watch unviable jank as well)
Not gonna lie, during the deck tech I thought this would never work. Wow! What's nice is it's non cancer and even let's ur opponent play his deck the first few turns lol
I just tried this deck, it didn't do well at all. Any form of bounce, counter, or creature removal takes the crab out of the picture and the deck is sunk. I also had trouble reliably getting both Solid Footing and Sentinels Eyes, meaning my crab was just a big blocker as my life total slowly dwindled down. I would say I won about 20% of the games I played with this deck.
I mean, what did you expect? It's based around a super janky 3 (at least) card combo that requires your opponent to not have anyinteraction or blockers.. sooo yeah. Nobody ever claimed this deck was going to help you crush ladder with it
Great video as always LVD. Would you happen to know what kind of changes you'd make to the deck to use it for historic? Huatli and High Alert for Solid Footing and Sentinel's Eyes, and the shocklands and checklands for sure, anything else?
I feel a little dumb for not noticing that Charix was AN ENTIRE GAMEBOARD. I don't know if that means it was well or poorly executed... A 'tree falls in the woods' kinda deal. :/
Yeah, to sad the deck was to tight to fit in Alseid of Life's Bounty. If they just would have released a set with such an effect attached to a land for a deck where evasion and removal protection is very much needed...
i mean, this one-trick decks are fine, they get you the wins but in mind that is not what magic is about... I've been playing a dumbass deck, 5-color disaster that does nothing and everything at the same time. so much fun playing against boring mono red haste decks, humiliating some rogue decks, mono green doesnt even stand a chance, etc.. the direction in which more and more standard players are going is so boring and unimaginative...i got this alternative way of deck building from playing the Vintage Cube a lot with friends at home so if you never played older cards and seeing the dumb combinations magic can provide I understand but I really advise people to dig in and see what lies behind the curtain of a boring deck with high percentage of wins. unless you are shooting for that mythic ranking ....but still. and this is not a comment towards you LVD but to other people watching your videos. I do not doubt your skills or your knowledge of magic:).
Are you cherry picking which games to upload? Not that I'm against that at all...I'd rather watch wins then your loses. It's just you didn't show any decks with a lot of creature removal here. I'd think this deck is rather weak to such?
This dude at 20:24 beats himself with a completely unnecessary mutate onto the Starrix stack. I hate these clowns in Arena trying to maximize their damage/board presence before winning. When your opponent is obviously "dead on board" you just end it.
Love seeing that mutate player go too far and mill themselves! Such a big misplay and cost them the game. Love seeing stupid players on Arena like this xD
