@@AltarenGalil agreed. There are better players, and there are streamers with more enthusiastic delivery, but LVD is calm, unflappable and almost always makes the right plays. Also the deck run-throughs at the start and the way he puts up a card if he mentions it are both really good for newer(ish) players like myself to get an understanding of why the synergies work
@@thewhitemage8763 He's been accused of a couple on camera that I know off the top of my head. One with spreading seas a few years ago which he "explained" himself, which the explanation goes out the window when you see him cheat again with Oko last year. He upticks Oko to make a food, hovers around and picks up the food token, takes the loyalty off from Oko, while holding the food. He waves his hand around like he's counting and places the food he picked up (which he shouldn't have), then upticks Oko to make that new food token that shouldn't be there into an Elk. This is a guy who's played a lot of magic. The whole motion is very practiced and the commentators don't even pick up the mistake. You should be able to find both clips and the response to the first cheat if you google around a bit.
Such a great stream with so many interesting decks piloted by one of the world's best. I hope you are relaxing and recharging your mental and physical batteries after that marathon. Thanks as always.
You're the best MTG player to watch, especially on Twitch. You have this great level-headed attitude that inspires me try to not be so salty when I'm losing, haha.
Love the Fiend Artisan. Have been using 4 copies of it in my black devotion deck. Mostly it looks up Gray Merchant but sometimes Nightmare Shepherd or even whisper squad.
Really great level of play and comments. You really put much thought into creating and playing the deck instead of lazily throwing cards on the table. Defenetily my favourite mtg youtuber and streamer. Greetings from Russia!
35:10 you could also target yourself with the priest, so you have to sacrifice another creature and then fiend artisan has 4 power and you can draw a card from shatter the sky.
Oh hey I was one of the converts running a normal jank humans build till I saw archfiend for a 1 mana 5/5 flyer, and rites as a 1 mana draw 2 sac a 1/1. So now I play this deck too, only mine has cat oven, mayhem devil, citadel. I know many of your viewers probably don't like cat oven though lol.
How would you feel about a different top end card, like Dreadhorde General or Cabalier of Night. At the beginning and end of the video you mentioned the idea that the M21 4cmc Liliana is good because you would often be empty handed when you plus-1 her. But that never happened in the video and this isn’t really a discard deck. Seems to me that the Priest could often enable Dreadhorde General as early as turn four and that’s a ton of value that synergies better with the deck.
I think you really missed footlight fiend for this deck, it really synergize well with all the sacrifice theme and has a sick combo with Call of the DD turning a dead Footlight into a unconditional removal spell, potentially double if you are on the defense since it will kill an attacker with his block and another one with the death trigger
Sequencing Question for Match 3 against White Weenie (14:05). Instead of Turn 2 Fiend Artisan, could you have gone Turn 2 Priest so you could go Turn 3 Fiend Artisan, activate Priest into Call of the Death Dweller, ending up with a 5/5 flying Demon and a Menace/Deathtouch Fiend Artisan + them having one fewer creature on board? That aside, loved the video, thanks for the wonderful content!
Definitely a reasonable line. In that spot it feels like the edict from Priest isn't going to be very impactful, so I would rather get more Vessels with Artisan first.
If you put Kaya’s Ghostform on Archfiend’s Vessel would it return to the battlefield as the 5/5 Demon? I would assume when it dies with Ghostform it would go to the graveyard first then return to the battlefield. If so you could get a 5/5 Demon with flying on turn 2 with the right cards.
35:00 could've targeted yourself with priest too in order to sacrifice 3-rd creature, make artisan into a 4/4 and draw a card from shatter. 2 life doesn't matter vs control deck
I think in Game 1 at 9:05 you could've swung w/all creatures except Priest, getting in at least 2 damage because opponent only has 2 blockers. Then you could play the scorpion and sac your surviving attacker + scorpion for the remaining 4 damage. But you were pretty far ahead at that point so I guess it didn't matter
Sry but that izzet finale deck looked way more interesting. Didnt even occur to me finale could see a comeback cuz of the new blue "antecipate" but 3feri exists to ruin our fun... Still waiting for terror of the peak decks, I wanna play that card just to look at the art, wonder what deck would use him the best.
Standard before M21: turbo ramp into Ulamog Standard after M21: turbo ramp into big Ugin aight, people really need to learn to build a different, although i suppose there is people that prioritize winning over having fun
Were you feeling well when recording this? I've felt that you were kind down on the mood. Still a great watch, but in the middle of it i was feeling like you were stressed, or exhausted somehow.
9:54 :) like i respect everyone who does flashy editing, but the way you make videos feels like drinking a hot cup of tea during a cold morning does that makes sense?
He streamed a review of every limited card for over 6 hours, and then a couple of days later he streamed for 22 hours straight during prerelease. During the event he was also up against some of the best in the world. So I think its understandable.
