This banning seems reasonable. I feel like a bit of the Magic community forget that not everything is about their chosen format. I remember a while back another content creator was complaining about a new "commander" that was printed (don't remember the exact reason). It was a legendary creature printed in a set, not a commander printed in a commander set/precon, and "legendary" isn't exclusive to commander. Not every common is designed for pauper, not every legendary is designed for commander, and, clearly, not every MH3 card is designed for modern. That last one is a big 🤦

Elesh Norn has the exact same design as Outlaw Anthology Vol. 1 and 2.. so it would only make sense in my mind, that she is the bonus card in one of those. the guy who revealed her wasnt 100% sure which set it was from.. and he had preordered all of them.. i dont know for sure.. I guess we will have to wait to find out.. It just seem weird to me if she not the bonus card in outlaw, and instead a random drop in a completly diffirent styled lair where others have opened useless elf's as bonus cards Edit: more people have opened secret lairs and nevermind.. Guess the elf really is the bonus card for the outlaw set... And elesh norn being a random drop.. Why do they do this.

You neglected to mention where in America said IGN live event is going to be which I'd think would be something you intended to include given that you felt it was important enough to bring up in this video, so much so that you specifically said that it was and thus was why you were stating so. I'm sure it was just a simple slip up but it might be nice if you were to include a caption at that part of the video with text saying where or include a link to the event's web page or something that people can see. @Nephalem2002 because it has a top tier grixis shell in pauper already and cranial plating (and All That Glitters for enchantments) is already banned for the same reasons, with this card arguably being a better version. Like this is a top pick card for pauper grixis affinity, borderline oppressive since the main reason all that glitters was banned was due to how format warping it was. Low cost efficient removal outside of black in pauper is not good, which meant every deck had to either splash it for that removal or just do nothing as it get slam by a massive creature buffed by all that glitters.

Not sure why people keep claiming the Miku SL sold out in an hour. I bought mine some 8 hours after the drop, no problem. Do they mean the $200 bundle? Cause the EN & JP non-pringle were both still available into the late afternoon. Unless WotC “restocked” at some point, which they’ve been caught doing before.

That Snapcaster mage is exactly what the secret lair should have been - Hatsune Miku combined with MTG, rather than random arts that are neither Miku nor MTG. This is just the perfect summary of 2024 WOTC - sell people crap with a random lottery to get the handful of actually desirable products.

Cranial ram is designed for mh3 limited and it works well there. In pauper is completely busted not because of the low power level of the format. You heave pretty efficient removal. The thing is THERE ARE ARTIFACT LANDS. Why everyone that doesnt play pauper thinks is the weakest format:/

The worst thing to happen to Modern is the obscene price to engage with the format. I am beyond sick of 60-card constructed players whining about Commander while ignoring the fact WotC has sent everyone running for the singleton format, because it’s the last constructed format that a large # of players can still *afford* . Put the blame on WotC/Hasbro’s bottomless greed where it belongs. Maybe is new Mythics weren’t routinely running 50$+ before Prerelease because no one wants to get ripped off buying Sealed and getting 25-35% of practical value in cards for $$ spent, your formats wouldn’t be on life support.

Commander players are a cancer for the Magic community. I don't care how much this might piss off some snowflakes but this game has been taken over and everything has suffered because of it. Standard? Non existent practically in paper, Draft? Nope. Sealed? Ha! Pre releases are a sham in my area. People only sign up to get product so they can part it out for Commander singles. Modern hasn't been a thing in years and don't get me started about Legacy or Vintage.

if Cranial Plating is already banned in Pauper, it should come as no surprise to anyone that Cranial Ram is banned. They could have printed Cranial Ram at Uncommon to avoid this problem, but I think it's fine to preban it.

All the MH3 bans were expected. The Flare Cycle, Winter Moon, and Harbinger of the Tides were obviously going to be banned in Historic; WoTC has made it clear that they don't want free spells or land hosers in the format. Disruptor Flute is a better Sorcerous Spyglass; which is already banned in Brawl. Cranial Ram is just Plating with Living Weapon, and Plating is already banned in Pauper.

You asked about the audio. I'm not sure if it's the space you're recording in or digitally added, but the delay of the reverb on your voice is set a bit too far out, which leads to a disconcerting "doubling" of your voice at times. If it's the space you're recording in, this can be prevented with acoustic padding on your walls strategically placed at the point of reflection. If it's your digital reverb, you can shorten the delay on it and add a stronger decay to it to mitigate these issues. Changing to either a wireless earpiece microphone like you see at large conferences or a boom configuration cardioid microphone can also mitigate this issue if it's an echo in your recording space, but that's ultimately a much more drastic solution only to be explored if acoustic padding is untenable.

MTG has turned into a gross product. Randomized cards in SL's is really dumb. You're specifically paying extra for a limited time release and there's a chance you get hosed, what a company. Take me back to draft boosters as the single product each set.

if modern horizons 3 is supposed to be a set for MODERN, then it should be designed around MODERN. it being a common and therefore needing to be banned in pauper shouldn't be an issue, the set was never designed with pauper in mind to begin with, and we should not be expecting them to design for every format for every set. remember how were all supposed to be angry that they print cards that are super good for commander specifically in MH3 too, and how that is an issue? if that is an issue, then this specifically cannot be an issue, as one is clearly designed for a format that isn't modern, while this clearly wasn't. pauper already had all that glitters and cranial plating banned before this was made. this just makes sense.

Not surprising, it's basically cranial plating (which is also a common and banned in pauper)

I’m kinda sad about this lol. I preordered a play set of cranial ram for pauper. It’s okay though. It would have been waaaaaay too good.

The bridges absolutely have to go. The og artifact lands were preyed on by Gorilla Shaman and that one sideboard card kept Pauper Affinity in check. Their original reasoning behind keeping bridges around was they liked the interaction with Cleansing Wildfire and yes there were lots of brews around it then. After two years, multiple fan-favorite bans, theres only one (1) deck that runs them for CW and its another t1 deck!

For the entire time I've been playing MTG, Modern has struggled to keep artifact affinity in a fair spot, it's a constant problem, and it'd be much easier if lands weren't also artifacts.
